Wanted some MREs and BugOut bags… Absolutely AWFUL woman in the front desk. Im absolutely appalled by her“customer service”. She told is she would not answer any questions unless we were going to buy something. We were going to buy something but immediately left because she was extremely unpleasant. After reading many of the reviews on this business, I was a little reluctant to check it out. I went in for an MRE or two and spent some time looking through the store. It’s carefully laid out and has some really great clothing for men in terms of sweaters, jackets, and other gear. I had a great experience, the customer service was excellent and we even chatted about surplus stores in different cities and states. I would go here again.

I’ve been inside this dump two times, and both times sucked. Why? The same reason everyone else says this place sucks– the rude old bitch working the desk. I’d waste more of our time getting into details, but it is unnecessary. This place fucking sucks and it’s amazing that it didn’t fold five days after its fucking inception. I will enjoy outliving this waste of valuable downtown Minneapolis storefront space. I look forward to having a beer, or a meal at this location after it finally gets converted into a restaurant or bar. Or, I’ll simply laugh when I one day see that the store front is vacant or find out the building has collapsed. MINUSFIVESTARS!

STAYAWAY!!! This is not a friendly store to anyone let alone vets. Rude women at the counter said she needs the money but says she would rather have me leave. There more to this story but trust me just don’t go here

I loved perusing this store and looking forward to picking up the Schott toggle sweater we ordered! The lady who owns this place is a Minneapolis gem. After watching her gracefully handle a terribly rude disorderly drunk looking for Cowboy Jacks, I can understand why she wouldn’t put up with rude customers. I wouldn’t either. It is locally owned businesses like this that make Minneapolis special and unique!

I stopped in looking for a pea coat. I was excited when they had exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately the woman behind the counter(who I believe is the owner) has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced in my life; she’s gruff, rude and unprofessional. She told me in so many words that I better be serious about buying something before I wasted her time because she had better things to do. I really wanted a coat so I bit my lip and put up with her attitude. When I couldn’t find one that fit on the rack she told me she had some more in back but she was too busy to go look for it and I needed to come back the next day(?) Sorry but I had to work the next day, and I don’t shop appointment only establishments. This is the third time in 5 years I’ve been in there and it’s always the same treatment. I will never set foot in there again. I don’t know how she can stay in business with that act.

DONOTGOTHERE! The customer service there is the worst place every. Long story short my daughter drove 30 miles one way to pick up a $ 50 bag and went there at 1 pm. The store was open and no where did it say that they were closed. My daughter was greeted by the rudest women who stated that due to a delivery she could not help her and had to wait until 2:30PM to pay for a simple $ 50 bag. I called today at 6 pm and asked to talk to a manager and she would not let me until I told her what it was about. She was abrupt and rude and only had excuses. When I asked to talk to a manager she hung up on me. YESHUNGUPONME!!! I was not rude or inappropriate but was giving feedback. Ironically my daughter went to General J’s Military Store on 15th and Nicollet and they were open and more than happy to take her money. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEYATTHISLOCATION!

I’d advise anyone who needs to visit an army surplus store in the Minneapolis area to head to the Brooklyn Park CC Military Surplus store. I went looking to buy a jacket for a Halloween costume in downtown Minneapolis and the lady that runs that shop was a total bitch. Not only did she treat me poorly, she also tried to sell me a jacket for $ 149.00. I bought THEEXACTSAME jacket in better condition at the Brooklyn Park location for $ 19.95. Do not waste your time going to the downtown location unless you are willing to overpay and be treated poorly. Unbelievable.

This could possibly be a decent store if the lady behind the counter possessed an ounce of customer service. Walked into the store, greeted by a brusque«what do you want» followed by «what’s your price range» and then was told that was impossible(even though I was quoted a lower price by them over the phone) and we might as well leave. Ok, will do. Don’t know how this place stays in business if they dislike their customers so much and apparently hate selling things. And by the way, ebay had the item for 1⁄3 of their price. EDIT: In response to the company’s comment below, yes we did ‘share our concern’ with the staff lady at the time and were treated rudely and dismissively in response. But rather than escalate into a shouting match, we decided to simply take our business elsewhere. Really, 17 one-star reviews complaining about horrible customer service probably aren’t wrong.

This is a pretty cool store, and large. It’s rather noticeable on the corner there and I’ve passed by numerous times but had never stopped in. They have tons of stuff; some of it is pretty expensive, but you get the feeling it would last for a loooong time. The jackets and coats seemed like really good, quality items. They have lots of backpacks and pouches and such that would be really handy and durable should you be an avid camper or… er, need to hide out in the mountains or the woods for long stretches. They have lots of uniforms and caps and hats, and as is noted in the business info, it would be a great shop for costumes(especially those pertaining to the military or police forces). They also have a lot of miscellaneous stuff, as well as attractions like a giant selection of knives. This place is pretty unusual for downtown(and in general) and is worth a look, especially if you’re in need of some really solid gear, costumes or props. The staff seemed a little bit testy with customers but perhaps they’re used to a bunch of wackos coming in making trouble or something.
