Even after having to eat gluten free,(and still being vegetarian) there is still a lot for me to enjoy — and the GF crust is great! Cracker-thin and a little salty. Definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a Sunday brunch here last weekend. Nice space– light and lots of windows, apparently used to be an old pharmacy? We arrived around 10:45 and there were quite a few empty tables, but once 11 hit the place filled up quickly. Strawberry and almond tart: started with two of these to split between the four of us. The waitress described it as similar to a baklava– it was layered and flaky with lots of strawberries. Satisfying but not too rich! Crab toast: I had to get it after seeing several other diners ordering it. It was delicious– not too heavy, but appropriately filling. Very generous with the crab and spinach on top. BTA sandwich: looked yummy, looked like almost half an avocado’s worth of slices on it, and they were also more than happy to add a fried egg to it. Classic breakfast: pretty straightforward, although the potato cakes looked like McDonald’s hashbrowns(which is a major positive in my book) Egg and Harissa sandwich: good for something out of the ordinary, a little spice but very manageable Would love to come back and try one of their many bloody Marys!

This place is great for either a fancy, expensive meal or a casual, moderately priced meal. It all depends on what you order because their menu is pretty extensive! I’ve been dying to try this place so when my friend from CA visited, I dragged her over here. The entrance is not on Hennepin but on Colfax, valet is on Colfax as well. My friend and I ordered the fried semolina and brown butter dumpling, which was topped with a ridiculous but yummy amount of parmesan cheese. It was super delicious and had a nice subtle flavor to it. Got a side of grilled button mushrooms with bacon. OMG, this was so delicious and I want more! I got the clam pizza and it had a pretty nice portion of clams. The pizza as an entirety was good but had very subtle flavors. So it’s not a instant flavor burst in your mouth, you’ll have to slow it down and once you do, you’ll appreciate the subtle flavors. My friend ordered the thai sausage pizza and she seemed to enjoy it. I felt the flavors for the thai sausage pizza were a little more subtle than I would have liked considering sausage is such a robust ingredient. Overall, really enjoyed the experience and would love to come back and try the steaks!

Burch is absolutely amazing. Easily in my top five restaurants in Minneapolis. I have been here several times for dinner, and I have tried a different cut of meat each time. Personally, I’m a big fan of the hanger steak. I also recommend the carrot side dish! We just went to Burch for brunch, and it blew us away. I had an omelette that was exquisite. Others had Eggs Benedict, quiche, pastries, and an egg/croissant sandwich. Everyone was extremely pleased with the meal. Burch is a great place to meet for business or for a fun night out. A must try for all food lovers in MSP.

One of my Three Go To Spots. All of them are Issac Beckers 112. BLG. And here Burch. All three have arguably the best food in the twin cities. The staff at burch is amazing, very on point, friendly. The diner is amazing the stakes are great my favorite is the Zabuton. Just started getting brunch here and it is my second favorite spot second only to the Minneapolis club. To top it all off the interior is Georgeus and location is the best uptown MpLS has to offer.

When I first tried this restaurant I was a bit disappointed. Three years later I am overjoyed with how much I liked it. I started off with the pea and burrata salad– it was delish. Gotta be honest you could put burrata on melba toast and I would be thrilled. Then I had the lamb which was one of the tastiest lamb dishes I have had. Our server was great as well as the young man in training! So glad I now understand why everyone raves about this place.

Dined at Burch Steak 3⁄25. Scallops appetizer was great, done very well. a little seasoning, seared lightly, very good. Pommes purée side was excellent, buttery, great texture. The roasted carrots were awful. Like someone cooked a handful of carrot sticks in a pound of maple syrup. Way, way too sweet. My wife and I had two bites each and left the rest. Steak? Not so good, especially for the prices that exceed top Vegas steakhouses. I had the American Wagyu Zabuton, 8 oz. I ordered medium rare, it came to me less than rare. Barely seared. 75% practically tartare. For such expensive steak I expect them to get it right. I’ve ordered medium rare at several of the best steakhouses in Vegas and gotten medium rare. Not a difficult thing to do. My wife’s well done sirloin was overcooked, not by a lot but again, a good steakhouse can get a steak with no pink and not overcook it. My wife and I were celebrating my birthday, this dinner was my birthday gift basically, and since I have cancer, birthdays are pretty special occasions for us. She doesn’t like complaining about restaurant food, and I didn’t want to ruin our night out. And, I ordered a Pellegrino soda and they brought me a can and a glass of ice. Really? Dessert selection is lousy. ¾ of it is slices of cake. We wanted dessert so we walked to Sebastian Joe’s figuring if they can’t do steak properly they probably will screw up dessert as well. Disappointed, will definitely not be back.

Oh no oh no!!! I can’t give full stars for brunch at burch. I loved this place for dinner but their brunch seems understaffed. Maybe because it’s Valentine’s Day… But we waited a long time for our food while seeing other people around us who came later getting their food first, so maybe our waitress had more tables to facilitate than usual. She also never came back to refill our coffee until we asked for it. I didn’t order any steak dishes this time but I was very happy with my crab toast selection. The flavor was refined, the pieces of king crab legs were succulent and to top it off with an egg gives it a gooey goodness. However their traditional breakfast dish was disappointing. The dishes with scrambled eggs were not good. The eggs tasted artificial and a bit too much salt or seasoning. Their pear and pecan fruit tart was great. Their financier dessert hmmmm wasn’t what I expected it to taste. Oh well it was worth a try. The restaurant and the décor is beautiful and lots of natural light!

Called and made a reservation for Saturday night at 7:30 on Saturday in the afternoon. This was key as I wasn’t looking to wait. Important note this was also for the downstairs and not the upstairs. It was my second time going downstairs because my partner had never been. We ordered the same pizzas I had last time-one mushroom and one sausage, we had the scallops appetizer and the panzenella salad. The pizzas weren’t as good as I remember and were more burnt. Our scallops were tasty and salad was strong, good but small. Our waiter was kind but not overly attentive and other people brought all of our food over and cleaned the dishes. We finished up with small treats that were perfect. This was the highlight of the meal for me-one coconut macaroon and a mini chocolate caramel. Overall it was good and I would go back but not anytime in the near future.

I went with my family for a birthday dinner celebration. We had made reservations prior to arriving and were sat promptly. We waiting a bit long to get our drinks even ordered. It turns out our server had a few large tables(with children) so that extended the time). The wine selection was impressive and the knowledge of recommended wine was great! In addition to the wine, we ordered 2 cocktails, one of which was a moscow mule. Ironically, the moscow mule was served in a glass now a copper mug which seemed odd! We ordered a array of food including steaks, 1 person in our group ordered pizza, we ordered some dumplings and the poutine potatoes. None of the food was very hot and felt like it had been forgotten about. The taste was pretty decent, but overall the service of what I expected fell below the mark. I suspect had the food arrived at optimal fresh serving temp it would have been amazing, but when it wasn’t fresh from the grill and not hot it was just mediocre.

This place is legit. I live in Las Vegas where there are more steakhouses than citizens so in general when I am out of town steak is not my desired meal. A lot of «best of» regional steakhouses just cannot compete with what I eat on a daily basis. That may sound snooty but its a reality. Burch Steak, however, delivered. 10/10, would bang. I ended up getting a «zabuton» steak. Zabuton is Japanese for pillow. That enough was a winning sales pitch. This steak actually comes from the short rib which is not considered«steak» worthy unless it comes from an A5 Wagyu cow. Thanks wikipedia. I was originally going to get the bone in rib-eye as its my go to but the server quickly talked me out of it and earned some extra tip money for the recommendation. The quality of this meat was ridiculous. It was excellently cooked and seasoned. Sides– I got the potato purée which came surrounded in gravy and with grated horseradish on top– both excellent touches. I was able to try one of the thrice fried chips, also amazing.

I’ve driven by this joint on multiple occasions. Each time I’ve told myself I need to get there. It always looks full, so it must be good. Finally here I am celebrating a 4 year anniversary. The entrance is in the back of the building, plenty of street parking, but there’s also valet for $ 8. There are two sections to the place, but I didn’t think it mattered. Both rooms served the same menus. One is «upstairs» which was not that far up… It’s a fancy pants open space, with exposed bricks, and lots of light fixtures that reminded me of upside down lamp posts. It felt like I was dining outside on an expensive street. A couple reviews mentioned there was good people watching with the diversity… hmmm…I saw no diversity on my visit. Lots of expensive looking folks’. Fine by me, I’m fake rich. I wanted to try pretty much everything on the menu, so I ordered everything I desired and demanded we shared. That’s how I roll. Their bread basket had a croissant that was out of this world. Warm, flakey, and buttery. We kept eye balling the table next to us that didn’t touch theirs, then proceeded to talk about eating off someone else’s table… Marlin crudo — Must eat. No share. Light, soft, refreshing, perfect squeeze of lime, topped with pine nuts and cilantro. My first time trying Marlin raw, sooo good. Next time I catch one of those suckers I’ll be sinking my teeth right in. Broccolini — Just okay. It was slightly on the salty side, had some more nuts on top. Schupfnudel dumplings with walnut and gorgonzola. Best dish of the night… next to the Marlin. Grass fed sirloin — Yep, they sure know how to do steak. Amazing. Comes with sauces and pickled mushrooms. Funghi Pizza — Terrible. The mushrooms were great, but that dough was horrendous. It was so salty I found it inedible. We debated sending it back, but pussed out. The dough was also mushy. No crisp to the thing at all, just floppy and salty. Such a huge disappointment. Flourless Chocolate Torte — Meh, not worth the calories or ordering again. Small treat of the night for $.50 was a macaroon. We tried a couple, not bad for half a buck. The service was okay. She wasn’t exactly friendly, or rude, but she was slow. That was an issue. She came by twice at the beginning to introduce herself so clearly she forgot the first time. This was more of a 3.5 star experience, but the Marlin and dumpling dish was outstanding. I’m not rushing back, but I will be eventually to try their other dumpling dishes.

Went to Sunday brunch at Burch and it was fantastic! Our server started off VERY poorly. One person of our table of three ordered a bloody and she just took off, didn’t ask the others if we wanted anything. Our fourth friend arrived and the server took her drink order and turned to leave AGAIN. My friend said something about other people wanting something and she seemed surprised. Very unclear. She only sorta made up for it later. We had the BEST table in the house. Right in front of the open kitchen. We basically watched all the food come out and picked what looked good. I have to say, watching the whole kitchen was MAGICAL. The chefs moved in beautiful synchronization and made everything look amazing. We were truly watching art. Major props to the kitchen, runners and the dude running the whole show. The food was amazing. We all shared bites of everything. I ordered the ‘Nduja Victor($ 9). It was delicious. Highly recommended. I also got a side of potato pavé($ 5) because it looked great coming out of the kitchen. It was very rich. My friend said the crab toast was life changing! The bagel and smoked salmon was very fresh and light — presentation for it is stellar. Zucchini fritters were fresh and minty and totally not what I was expecting! Try them! Eggs Cacio e Pepe were delicious if you like scrambled eggs(I’m not a huge fan). The fried oysters on the eggs?! Holy smokes. I loved them.

If somebody asks you if you want to go to Burch Steak — yes, you do! Just say yes and go immediately. It’s located on the corner of Franklin and Hennepin, right by the bus stop. The entrance is around the back by the Valet. One of the Valet guys spotted us walking to the front of the building and told us where the entrance was — which was helpful to us since it was our first time! Food was incredible, out of this world, delicious! Service was equally impressive, attentive and gracious. We ordered the Manhattan steak(14oz) and the Prime Beef Hanger steak(large, 12−14oz) Both steaks were tender, juicy and cooked to medium perfection. I love how they come with three complimentary sides: steak sauce, béarnaise sauce, and a cup of little pickled mushrooms. For sides we got the Roasted Carrots with goats cheese, the Triple Cooked Chips and the Schupfnudel dumplings with walnut and gorgonzola. The carrots were every bit as divine as everyone raved about. Nobody thinks about carrots this way, until you go to Burch. They were sweet and blackened and had the added sharpness of the chèvre. Positively sinful. The chips were huge fried potato slices, nice and crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The Schupfnudel was definitely our favorite. This dumpling dish was rich, salty, cheesy, and absolutely indulgent. It’s delicious to eat with the bread basket they bring to the table. The cocktails were wonderful. I had The Last Word martini and the French martini, and husband had the Burch Apple Old Fashioned. We wanted to order some dessert after our entrees, and looking at the menu everything sounded great. We settled on the Lemon Tart with meringue and it was sweet and citrusy — just an amazing end to our dinner. Our entire celebratory meal was perfectly executed. I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant evening! I was happy that we got a reservation. Highly, highly recommended!

This review is for Burch Pizza. Burch Steakhouse another night. A friend and I stopped here last Thursday evening and sat at the basement bar. The room has the atmosphere of a well appointed grotto. It looks like could easily have been a Speakeasy back in the 20’s instead of the basement of a neighborhood Drug Store. Anyway, we were promptly served by several different staff during dinner, each cordial and efficient. I started with the Roasted broccolini, turmeric, chili flakes, almonds, mint salad plate. It was excellent. My friend ordered the Provoletta, smoked marinated tomatoes plate from the steakhouse menu. He said it was very good. We each ordered a pizza Margherita. Here I give the edge to Punch Pizza. Although I did enjoy the Burch pie. I was pleased to discover that they offer the Sparkling Aranciata(Orange) and Pompelmo(Grapefruit) San Pellegrino sodas, not just the Limonata(Lemon) that you find at many other establishments. BTW, I went with the Pompelmo. Parking can be a major hassle. I circled several blocks a few times before ending up on a side street 2 ½ blocks away. I don’t mind walking but just so ya know. Honestly, I think the space might be best enjoyed on brisk fall evenings or bitterly cold winter nights. I’m not sure it works as well during our all too brief summers. But still, recommended.

Very very good. We went here on date night and I was trying hard to get reservations at several places at the last minute and then something opened up here and I was sold. Our server was great, knew a lot about the menu and was extremely helpful. The food: Spicy margarita was amazing, I had 2. Dumplings were okay, didn’t blow me away. Sirloin was perfect and I like that they have grass fed options. Also got the walleye special, which was perfect. But the highlight was the carrots. Sounds ridiculous, right? Those carrots were RIDICULOUS and I ate the leftover carrots for breakfast the next morning and almost cried when they were over. Also: They bring you bread to your table right away. There’s a little croissant in there that is SO good. I got stuck sharing mine and I wanted the whole thing to myself. I want their brunch next!

Burch just started serving Sunday brunch and you should really drop everything and get over there ASAP. I wholeheartedly remain an Isaac Becker fangirl. They do brunch service upstairs in the bar area, though I imagine they could expand to the adjacent dining room if there was enough demand. I had no problem getting a reservation a few days beforehand and the dining room was about 60% full. Service was great as it was clear that our waitress knew what she was talking about and had sampled everything. DRINKS: If you love a good bloody, you will not be disappointed. They have 4 different options. One has a lot of smoky chipotle flavor, another has clamato & boquerones so would be perfect for an anchovy fan, a third is a green bloody with tomatillos, and then the classic. I opted for the classic and LOVED their house-made tomato juice. Very refreshing and nicely spiced. I also tried the Watermelon Wake-Up which was pretty good, and the Spicy Gimlet which I will skip next time as it was not spicy or very flavorful. FOOD: I literally cannot stop thinking about the Crab Toast. The rustic bread was perfectly grilled and remained crispy throughout(soggy bread is my nemesis), there was a generous portion of crab meat, and the lemony beurre blanc and egg made for the perfect sauce to tie the dish together. This is a must-try if you have a soul. I also tried the potato cakes which were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The order comes with two cakes which was perfect for 4 people to share. My boyfriend got the Benedict and even though he usually subs bacon on his bennies, he said that their version with smoked ham was the best Benedict he has ever had. Another friend got the shrimp roll and though it looked pretty small, she said that it was filling and tasty. Sadly I was under the weather last weekend so couldn’t insist on getting bites of everyone’s meals, but all of the eggs(and everything else!) were perfectly cooked. Serving size here is appropriate but on the small side, so if you are really hungry I would recommend ordering a side with your entrée. This will be a spendy brunch if you do it right, but worth every penny.

My fiancé and I came here to celebrate finishing our engagement shoot, but Burch, I’m starting to think you’re the one I should be marrying. You teased me with the best dinner I’ve had in my 10 years in Minneapolis and it’s all I can fantasize about. Appetizers After eating like rabbits all week to look real good for the engagement photos, we were ravenous and fully prepared to eat our faces off. I’d been a good little Unilocaler and done my research ahead of time to expedite stuffing our faces. We immediately ordered the marlin crudo and schupfnudel, walnut and gorgonzola dumpling appetizers(plus I couldn’t resist a glass of moscato) and proceeded to food-gasm. The crudo was fresh and zesty, the lemon and cilantro bringing out the full flavors in a delightfully simple way, the pine nuts and burnt onions adding wonderful texture and flavor. And ohh the gorgonzola dumplings, so buttery and rich and creamy and cooked to perfection. I easily could’ve made this my meal and been on cloud nine. Entrees We opted for the 8 oz. Zabuton Wagyu steak, mine cooked medium and my fiancé’s medium-rare. The pizzas were also calling to us, so we ordered the Calabrese, plus an order of the grilled button mushrooms with bacon and herbs. The Wagyu was perfectly cooked, slightly crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. The mushroom medley was divine and the perfect accompaniment to the steaks. The Calabrese pizza though, lawdy lawd. It honestly was better than the pizza we’d had in Italy imo — fresh tomato sauce bursting with garlic and flavor, red pepper spiciness, rich pepperoni and an amazing crust. So simple, yet so memorable. The Verdict The steaks, crudo and mushroom salad were wonderful, but to our surprise, the real panty droppers were the gorgonzola dumplings and pizza. We will absolutely be returning to enjoy a meal of just pizza and dumplings.

I’ve been to Burch Steak once before about a year ago and had a perfectly enjoyable dinner, but I had not been back until tonight. My boyfriend and I were in the mood for pizza, so we decided to go try out the basement at Burch. The last time we were there, we went the steak and dumpling route, but tonight we sat downstairs at the pizza bar for salad and pizza. it is nice that you can order anything from the steak menu downstairs(and the pizza menu upstairs), because if that would not have been the case, I wouldn’t have tried the sea bean and crab salad. Our server(who was attentive, descriptive, and friendly) recommended this salad when I asked for a suggestion of a lighter salad. The sea beans were similar to skinny green beans, and the dungeoness crab was plentiful. The dish was topped with crispy garlic. The flavors were AMAZING! I highly recommend this dish and will be getting it every time I go back to Burch. As my boyfriend isn’t always super adventurous, we kept it simple with a margherita pizza and added BLG italian sausage. The edges of the crust were airy and crispy, and the sauce was sweet and delicious. I paired my meal with a light cucumber vodka press. Prices were reasonable and exceptional in some cases(I got a $ 0.25 chai truffle — sweet treat of the night– for dessert). I’ll be back.
