This management company is the worst. Run, don’t sign with CPM. I enjoyed living in my building until they took over management here. Sidewalks aren’t cleared. Maintenance rarely actually helps unless you escalate.(How long can one live with no electricity in the bathroom? Weeks and weeks, apparently.) Thanks for the storage space, which also features leaky pipes that destroy anything in it. Unresponsive, difficult to work with, unreasonable policies. I’m moving when my lease is up. Welcome home.

This company is terrible. I had the misfortune of renting from CPM for my first apartment experience, and would not wish anyone to have to go through them for housing. I rented a house near the U of M with 4 others; rent is comparable to other properties in the area. Maintenance requests went unfulfilled without multiple calls and emails, but our furnace failure for over a week in February takes the cake in landlord negligence. We were not informed that our furnace needed a new part which had been ordered but took several days to ship– in the meantime we froze. The landlord scheduled showings with advance notice of as little as 15 minutes, and after we moved out our security deposit was cut in half. The company admitted they had most likely given us the explanation of charges for a completely different house(deductions included the necessary repainting of a green room, though not a single room in the house was green), but refused to give us the money we were owed. A truly horrible experience warrants a scathing review.

I’ve rented from 3 different property management companies in minneapolis and this has been by far the worst. They are constantly trying to scheme ways to make more money, from holding tenant-signed leases while still advertising units to charging tenants for utilities specified as paid by the landlord in the lease. I could go on and on, but what takes the cake was the time they changed the locks on our apartment without telling us or giving us keys. Needless to say, I have changed apartment companies and am much happier now! They get two stars for being reasonably priced, but buyer beware!
