Great as always! We love coming here. This is a great restaurant. We chose the tasting menu. It was fabulous. Make sure to ask for recommendations. They will always give you ideas. Dessert was incredible! Service is top notch!

We came here last week after our long weekend vacation to Taylor Falls/St Croix Falls. Well, the nice hostess apologized that we missed Restaurant Week so gave us a coupon for 2-for-1 taster’s special. We got a three course meal starting with a thin shaved tuna over a small toasted slice of bread then a tomato soup which looked a little weird with a clear broth and flower petals and slice of pickled strawberry. Afterwards, we had a shot of cherry explosion which was a preserved cherry in sweet liquor. Finally, the main dish was a pork tenderloin cooked to perfection with a corn-meal based side. It tasted more like mashed potatoes which was kinda surprising. Overall, I was very surprised that Cosmos was very accomodating. Also, we lucked out with the parking which we were going to do the free valet but the country music event made it impossible. The valet apologized for the valet service being unavailable since all parking spots taken up– only for hotel guests and no longer restaurant guests. So, we circled and found a coveted parking space nearby around the corner and paid for a couple of hours. Not a bad way to spend a long weekend in a fancy restaurant with a new age twist.

I’m surprised this place got 4 stars. Although as I explore this city… I think the foodie standards might have a low bar. Service was slow and somewhat rude. The bartender seemed annoyed by my presence. I will say my Cosmo was top notch; strong and delicious! I got the burger. It was cooked well and the aioli sauce was bomb but the bun literally tasted like cardboard. That kind of ruined it for me. Not gonna waste carbs on crap like that. The salad was meh… probably should have gone for the truffle fries. Overall, get a drink, skip the food.

After a 10 minute wait for a drink order the waiter Simon found his way to us. We ordered«Minnesota Benedict». Walleye Benedict with fingerling potatoes sautéed in butter and sliced. Tea comes — no cup? Cup comes — no spoon? Potatoes buttery and peppery. Asparagus baked to a charred end. Smokey-not in a good way. Egg poached perfect. Muffin toasted too large for the food. Overwhelming. Walleye subtle with a lovely breading. Hollandaise wonderful. Light, and not overly citrusy. Walleye seasoned feels like a hint of dill as a compliment.

Wonderful dinner experience. Our second time at Cosmo’s and it was a perfect dinner-date! Our server, Adel, was phenomenal– prompt, attentive and knowledgeable without being stuffy. We each ordered the five-course Chef’s choice and were not disappointed. It was SO delish! Dinner began with tea– we don’t drink. Right away a small bread basket was brought out to us, then a plate with a single(incredibly flavorful) bite with a fancy name, followed by a cheese platter with all sorts of fun items to sample, all very tasty. One of my favorite things was a caper berry, a fascinating item that tasted like a gigantic caper, but somehow better. Following the cheese plate we had small samples of tuna, roast, scallops, and veal. A variety, and everything was excellent. Dessert was incredible– my significant other had this concoction of layered sorbet, raspberries, and«lime froth» or some such(silly) thing but they knew what they were doing– it was so good! And I got an equally delicious, although completely different, dessert. I’m glad we went with the Chef’s Choice & would do it again in a heartbeat! Expensive? Yes. But so worth every penny!!! Additional details: free valet parking; excellent bathrooms(& I’m picky about bathrooms!); not busy on a Thursday night; they serve a «palate cleanser» during your meal and it’s citrusy & amazing.

I stayed at the Loews for 2 weeks and ate at Cosmos quite frequently both at the restaurant and via room service. I really liked the breakfast options, you can’t go wrong with those lovely belgian waffles or the lobster benedict. coming to lunch/dinner — really liked the happy hour menu and the beef tenderloin. The service is friendly and quick, the ambience is really nice — I liked the décor and lighting, perfect for a dinner date !

Was staying at the Graves 601 Hotel so I naturally decided to grab breakfast at Cosmos. I had the Three Egg Omelette with all of the veggies and potatoes on the side. Everything was fine, but a bit too oily for me. Seems like Cosmos gets great reviews though so I’ll have to return for dinner the next time I am in town.

Cosmos is located inside the Lowes Hotel(the old Graves Hotel). I liked that they have complimentary valet parking for eating at the restaurant. It’s a very nice quiet place to dine. The waiters were really nice, but he could not remember what we all ordered and had to come back to ask us again. And while everyone’s dinner was served they made a «mistake» on mine so it came out later then everyone’s which meant I ate by myself while everyone had finished their meals. I’m sure they forgot my order!!! Was not happy about that and I asked for medium and it looked more like medium rare! Regardless, I still are it but I didn’t like the mushroom or carrots that they had with the dish. It wasn’t good. Overall, the people there were nice, the place is very nice but food was not all that. I wasn’t satisfied my first impression there.

Wow! Is all I could say. A quiet and upscale restaurant located on the 4th floor or hotel Loews. They offer free valet if you eat at Cosmos, just be sure to let the valet know and get your ticket comped. The menu was small & they change it often. I ordered a tuna tartar $ 14, beef tenderloin with king crab $ 40, and for drinks I got the hidden agenda $ 15. Yes, pretty spendy BUT I must say, it’s all worth it. The tuna tar tar came with an avocado sorbet. So much flavor and delicious! It just melted in my mouth. The beef tenderloin and king crab was the BEST I’ve had in a long time. The beef was so tender and just melted in my mouth! I would definitely come here again! During the meek we also got clam chowder, a palette cleanser(I don’t know if that’s the correct term) and chocolates with pistachio bites which were AMAZING! The service was alright. The man serving is practically dropped a wine glass on me. My sister was the last to get her meal because they dropped her steak on the ground so she watched us eat for about 15 min.

Love that this place isn’t overly packed(most likely due to transition from Graves to Loews and construction). I love that their lunch menu is affordable, and the setting is intimate and chic. Top that off with a stellar waiter, Christian, and you have a wonderful dining experience! They also offered to validate parking!

After a short flight from San Francisco and a quick taxi ride to the city, I finally made it to Minneapolis! First thing was first: check into the hotel, unpack and grab a bite to eat. My new coworker, mentioned a place in the hotel that offers really good food. I had an hour before they closed so I ran over and just in time! This restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the Loews hotel. It’s a super dramatic space. Huge pillars, low lit intimate lighting, long drapes and hanging glass pieces to block the bar area. The tiling on the floor and glassware on the table tops really solidify the regal setting. The staff treated me in that same consistent manner. They were very professional and definitely served in the manner of a high end restaurant. For dinner, I started with the Banfi Pinot Grigio for $ 8. To me, it tasted more like a riesling with a bite. It didn’t taste like a pinot grigio I’m used to. I don’t know how expensive of a bottle it is, but it was a little too sweet for what I was expecting. As a starter, I got the wild rice soup for $ 9. It was roasted chicken, porcini mushrooms and wild rice. OHEMGEE! This was a great soup! Super hearty and filled with chicken and rice! I’ve had a lot of wild rice soups in the past and this has to be one of my favorites! Lots of flavors and textures. For dinner, I got the Pan Seared Sea Scallops for $ 30. 3 seared scallops, a square of crispy pork belly over parsnip purée, compressed apple-fig salad and arugula oil. I LOVED the pork belly. Talk about the perfectly cooked crispy belly. It was crispy and salty, marbleized and flavorful! So good! The scallops were perfectly seared, loved the crispy tips and soft inside. My only criticism was that it was too salty. Thank goodness for the sweet parsnip and the tangy salad to help cut through the salt. All in all a good dish though! I’m definitely a fan of this place! The food was great for the most part, the ambiance was awesome and I felt well taken care of. I think this is a great addition to a fabulous hotel. If you’re downtown, remember that you don’t’ need to stay at Loews to enjoy this place. Come by and check it out!

Went there to treat myself to a great breakfast and they did not disappoint. From the fresh OJ to the fruit, everything was spot on. Had great service. I order the lobster Benedict and it was great

Hidden upstairs inside a fancy hotel this«hotel restaurant» was surprisingly good. I selected this place for breakfast because they source local organic humanely raised ingredients. For the quality, it was surprisingly empty, maybe because the prices are at boutique hotel restaurant levels. The servers were very relaxed and friendly. The cleanliness was average(dinnerware all good, but drapes and décor seemed a bit dusty and tabletops in need of an update). Would go back next time in town.

Simply put, amazing! It was a slower Saturday night and there were only 4 or 5 other tables in the entire restaurant. The staff did a great job of spreading everyone out and really driving home the idea that it was almost a semi-private event. An amazing wine list combined with the tuna tartar appetizer got things rolling. And from there I ordered each of us the 5 course tasting menu with a wine selection for each course. If you enjoy food and wine pairings, this is a must! Each course was well thought out and nicely executed. A fantastic experience that will be revisited next time we are in the area.

My review is just for cocktails. Enjoyed a stay at the Graves 601 Hotel and the Cosmos is conveniently located in the hotel. A fun space to enjoy a drink or two.

Very attentive service and a restaurant location beautiful enough to be a movie set, but the food just didn’t do it for me. Mozzarella burrata and heirloom tomatoes: fresh but way too straightforward. Crispy suckling pig: I expected more of a traditional piece of pork with the crispy skin I so often crave, but trust very few restaurants to make correctly. This place did a weird U-turn with the dish, transforming suckling pig into what I’d describe as a crab cake made out of pulled pork. Not a fan of the texture.

So, I have been to Cosmos on 2 different ends of the spectrum– breakfast and late night drinks. Breakfast: Ok, its pricey. But its delicious, filling, fancy, luxurious, and the service is very attentive. The breakfast scene is pretty sparse, but that can be nice. The servers are quiet, attentive, and keep the coffee coming. There are little jam jars. I always take them. There are little honey pots, I always take them. *Note, I’m not stealing. I’m just… taking the leftovers home, right?* honestly, the food was totally worth the special breakfast date. Drinks: There’s spicy snack mix. I’ve never been to a bar with snack mix. I’m in love. Anyway, I got a sort of gin/lime juice/mint drink. Nothing extreme, but the liquor was strong, the seltzer water was fresh, and the mint was plentiful. It was a really quality drink. Downside? Cubed ice. It waters drinks down. And if the drinks range from $ 12-$ 15, I’d expect a large round or square cube like you’d find at Bradstreet, Eat Street, or Marvel Bar. *This is why I give this place 4 stars*

So I’ll definitely be back. I really enjoyed my recent dinner and was surprised that the place wasn’t busier. I guess being on the 4th floor of a hotel doesn’t help. Anyway, although the gals I was with went for the $ 55 six course(tastings) menu I went with the a la carte. — the butterhead lettuce(with granola and some hard cheese) was delicious. I’ve heard of butterhead lettuce, but never tried and I’m glad that I did. It a real tender leaf with mild flavor. Any the salad was very simple, had very little dressing, but I think the simplicity is what made it so good. –for my entrée, I got the BBQ pork chop which pretty good. With it came braised beef shoulder which was yummy. There was also a coleslaw which was okay, and a potato salad which I didn’t enjoy. It wasn’t mayo based. It was just cubes of potatoes with a bit of mustard and lots of mustard seeds. –for the dessert, I didn’t like any of the options, so the waiter(who felt was a bit too talkative and intrusive) offered to get me a strawberry cheesecake from the room service menu. He provided the offer of getting something from that separate menu several times to my group. With that said, it’s dumb that they even have a separate one. Now getting back to the waiter, Tim, I think he needed something to do. He continuously stopped by just to chat which after became annoying to me. Especially since he always brought a heap of sarcasm and TMI with him. Anyway, I really enjoyed the dinner and the ambiance and the talkative/annoying waiters willingness to accommodate with substitutions. The place is great for a date, friends night out, celebration, business dinner and even a solo dinner. I look forward to the next trip.

Dinner at Cosmos is an experience. Unlike many hotel restaurants, Cosmos serves up ambiance, excellent food, and great service for an all-around wonderful dinner. They start dinner by providing a delicious amuse-bouche, bring out a tasty juice palate-cleanser«shot» in the middle, and end the evening with a lovely chocolate truffle. And that’s on top of what you actually order. The wait staff are very knowledgable and friendly, which adds to the feel of an upscale dining experience. I love how clever the chef gets with the rotating menu options and have never had a dish I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Try the tasting menu, which changes frequently. You won’t be disappointed. Cosmos is one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Twin Cities and should not be missed!

The drinks are delicious! Being Cosmos, the happy hour is still pricey, but while the food list is short and tasty, the drinks are great! I got the mango mojito, tequila sunrise, and the pineapple mint(I must have been in a high vitamin C mood). The pineapple mint, I could have done 3 of those, sooo good! Service was meh, we had a 20 year old(yes, we asked him how old he was) serving, and he really was just sooo… young? mediocre? not attentive? I don’t know, but those drinks, yum. I’ll be back for sure!
