I’d give a left arm to have a good cleaner just down the street from me, offering such amazing convenience that I would somersault with glee when I forget to pick up my clothes day after day, only to discover OMGYOUARERIGHTONMYWAYHOMEYES! Sadly, no. I sorta can’t believe this exists. So, they smoke indoors. In a dry cleaners. Where your clothes go. To get clean. Magically, the clothes come back not smelling of smoke, which is AMAZING — how do they do this?!? But it’s gross. It smells moldy and smokey in there. Overall, just sad and gross. The front desk help is visually angry and grumpy. Craggy, even. Would it kill you to force a smile or give me a little«thanks!» that isn’t absolutely forced? When I am spending money on your services? There is never a line in there, and it appears you don’t have much to do … so shouldn’t you sorta, I dunno, TRY to make a little effort when I stop by? Then again, I won’t be stopping by. Ever again. I go to other(note, big-box cleaners) where they have better service. And don’t smoke a heater inside. ALSO. I think they are too expensive unless you utilize their calendar of coupons. Um. It’s 2015. Who prints/saves/stores a freakin’ coupon calendar based on when they want to have clean shirts? Not many, that’s who. **I don’t know that they actually smoke inside as I have never actually SEEN smoke or lit cig. This is my assumption and true belief. But it totally smells in there.

Am I totally out of touch with how much drycleaning costs these days? I dropped off a bunch of sweaters and winter jackets. Had no problems with service, and stuff appeared to be properly cleaned.(One of the jackets I gave them was covered in yuck and they got it all super clean.) My complaint is that drycleaning a winter jacket was over $ 20. TWENTYDOLLARS? Am I the only one who finds this astronomical?

The Dinsmore Cleaners and Laundry I go to is located at 740 Adams. I’ve used it for 15 years! I always bring my dog as well as magazines for myself and other patrons. I bring my heavy comforters and use their 50 lb. washers because I wish to contribute to the long life of my own machine, I’ve used the dry cleaner too. It’s just always been a positive experience. The place is clean and I just can’t say enough to praise not only the staff but the other clients! I know it’s not something one would ordinarily notice but I get pleasure watching well behaved and well cared for children and the young fathers who help with all of it. Over the years I’ve had a 100 pound gentle giant and now, a Pomeranian. I keep the dog leashed unless a parent allows their little one the privilege of leading the animal around. Weather permitting, the mostly residential neighborhood is a safe place to walk and there is a convenience store nearby. Loads of private parking.

Expensive and the sweaters I took in were not returned clean. Total ripoff.

Not sure what to think of this place so far, because I’ve concerned about getting my clothes back in time to try them again. I dropped off some curtain sheers to be cleaned and was told I wouldn’t be able to get a price estimate or be told when they might be done. What? Not even a ballpark? Nope. Yeah… should have pushed for a price and time when they would be done. A week and half later of phone calls everyday they were finally ready to be picked up. For a lot of money. On the plus side, they were clean. I guess my hunt for a reliable(and reasonable) dry cleaner in NE continues.

I have gone to this establishment on a few occasions and received average if not below average service but the last encounter was the last time I will do business there. I brought in a dress with a basic soda stain on the back. When I went to pick it up they had not even tried to get it out saying no note was made of it, even though I specifically pointed it out to them. Then they insisted I pay for the cleaning although it was going back to be cleaned again. I refused to pay the $ 16 for something they didn’t even clean. The manager was unavailable and I had to leave. They called me later to let me know they would send it back in for cleaning and I could pick it up the next week. A week later I picked it up and they let me know they were unable to get out the stain. It was soda on cotton, that doesn’t take much! They still charged me the full price of $ 16 for this even though it was a week late and I believe it was their fault the stain did not come out. Very, very poor service! Don’t go here if you want your items handled with care and to be treated fairly.

Brought in a bridesmaid’s dress in urgent need of pressing for my sister’s wedding. I brought it in Thursday at noon, and it was done within 24 hours. Super cheap, and it looked great. Now: did I fall down the stairs mid-ceremony whilst wearing said dress at said wedding? Of course I did. But the dress was perfectly pressed! It didn’t even have any wrinkles in it post-stair-fall; it stayed looking as perfect as it did pre-tumble! Good on you, Dinsmore. Any business that helps me look better falling down stairs than I would otherwise have looked is a good, good business in my book.
