Poor acoustics make this a painful place to visit. Music machines and conversations echo and amplify. Not a place to think or meet.

Stopped in after lunch at a place on the same block and what a great experience… And delicious coffee to boot! Super friendly staff, gal at the counter filled me in on all their specialties and hooked us up according to our likes & dislikes. Espresso was just as she described– not a heavy roast but a medium roast, a bit lighter and smoother. Yum! Also, though it’s totally frivolous, the latte art in my cup made me enjoy my drink even more! Looking forward to another Dunn Bros. visit next time I’m in Minneapolis.

There are six places I could choose to buy my coffee from on the morning commute, including a Starbucks that is actually inside my place of work, where I get a discount. I go to Dunn Brothers, though(which is technically the most out-of-the-way option among the six), because the coffee is good and the staff at the Nicollet Mall location are all awesome. Seriously, every single person who works there is very kind and genuinely friendly. It brightens my day to stop there before the work day begins. Also, they have gluten free sandwiches.

Super cute coffee chain, which, to me, seemed totally local. I actually didn’t know that Dunn Bros even was a franchise until I looked it up later! The store itself was very cute — pretty hip… pie? Hipster? I can’t really decide which. But either way, I dug the vibe. The location of this store is great if you’re staying at the Hilton Minneapolis, as I was, since it’s just a few short blocks away and right in the middle of the big pedestrian(ish) mall area there. Helped myself to a large iced tea and a fruit cup. As with all coffee places, food items are pretty seriously overpriced, but the tea was great. And hey, there was no confusing myself or anyone else with confusing pseudo-Italian ordering! I definitely think it’s time for Dunn Bros to make its DMV area debut.

I got a ½ coupon in the mail and decided to give them a try. Space — its very cozy and welcoming. There are a few tables and outlets are readily available for those of us, for whom coffee break means work break. The staff was great, suggested a few options. I tried the mocha… and it was not good. I have several complaints. First of all, it was ridiculously hot. I am a Starbucks girl and I can drink their mocha within a minute, here I got my tongue burned a bit so I spend at least ten minutes staring at the cup, thinking«why did you do this to me» Perhaps because of the little burn I could not taste it properly, but it did not taste good. Too coffeeyy and too sweet. Yay for place, nay for mocha.

I live by the big Dunn Bros on Loring Park, so that has been my go-to DB for a long time. I work downtown though. Sometimes, I don’t have time to swing over to Espresso Royale before work. On those days, I come to this Dunn Bros instead. I call it my «small, but mighty» DB! There is not a ton of space, but they do have a comfy little seating area and tables outside for nice days. They are super quick, unlike some of the other places along the Mall(I am looking at you, mega chains). They are also very friendly without being overly friendly. Just cool. Super bonus points go out to them after today, when the one barrista told me that he also enjoys the almond milk for lattes and has been trying to get them to give it a whirl. As I had just ordered a regular coffee with pumpkin spice syrup since I can no longer have milk and it got mis-rung as a latte($ 4+) and then re-rung correctly at $ 2, it was an easy conversation to have about not only the dietary option for those of us who are non-dairy/non-soy AND about the revenue loss by not having«fancy» coffee options for those of us in that category. It was cool to have someone at one of the non-indie places understand and have a good conversation about it. Yea, DB Nicollet!

I was, and still am, ecstatic that they closed the Starbucks across the street from my office and replaced it with a Dunn Brothers. It’s my favorite coffee franchise, hands down. I used to tailor my commute to work so that I could stop at one of their stores, one way or another. Many a lunch break has been spent hiking to the nearest location for a cold press or a full city roast — and now it’s at my fingertips. The week that they opened they were giving small coffees away for free and specialty drinks were only $ 1. It was awesome. The space is really open, airy and bright, and they have very cool photography lining the walls. They took the old space and gave it a serious makeover, and the outcome is quite nice. The staff are friendly and relaxed and they have prime Nicollet Mall patio seating for people watching. Such a welcome presence on my block!

I used to come here everyday to do my research before classes. I really enjoy the dark atmosphere this place has, and how quite it has always been for me. I’ve run into a lot of people that I’ve known from classes and what not too. It was a real friendly place. I’ve always enjoyed Dunn Bros vs. the other main chains in Minnesota. They just taste better to me, so why not enjoy some caffeinated beverages while studying? It really is one of the best places(downtown, that is) to get homework done! Thinking of all the time spent here, it almost makes me miss college… almost… OK, it doesn’t, but I think I need to make a stop in here again real soon!

Nice little coffee house in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. This place served up a tasty mocha for a very good price.
