I just love the burritos here. You have to specifically ask for the habanero salsa though.

My husband frequents this place because it is super convienient. The best time to eat here is early in the day because otherwise the food isn’t fresh and often times they run out of some of the food in the later parts of the days. Pros: If fresh, the food can be pretty good. It is the closest thing to Chipotle in the area. Cons: Customer Service can be hit or miss. They charge for most of the taco toppings. Overall, it is worth a try. Their guacamole is very delicious if you can get it. They run out often. I gave three stars mostly because it can be good when the food is fresh and not out of stock.

The Cuban sandwich is good but they have been out of menu items three visits in a row now. The staff person who is pretty much always the same lady was reluctant to take a Groupon and acted as if I was trying to pull a fast one when I presented to her. She then refused to accept a second Groupon in a separate transaction with my friend. 1 per person, per visit is what it specifically says on the Groupon. I don’t recommend anyone to purchase a Groupon for this place it would just be wasted money and I won’t be eating here again.

Had the groupon to burn. They dont have everything thats on their online menu available. No mango avocado salad that was described as their«signature salad» on the website. No fresh squeezed lemonade. The meat looked like it had been sitting out for a while :/Gave me an upset stomach. Wont be back. I would say to stay away from the ceviche(if they even have it). As much as Id love to enjoy the small local place, I must say Chipotle is much better.

This hole in the wall spot didn’t have any indoor seating when I went here for lunch one day. Ordered the carne burrito and hands down this place is excellent! Cheap and fast. If you think chipotle is good, this place has them beat with authenticity, and price.

The food is fantastic, when the ingredients are available. If they’re not, you can still hodge podge together something that tastes pretty good. I’m a huge fan of the burritos, while my wife enjoys the sandwiches. The only real gig, aside from the ingredients, is the lack of a dining area. it’d be nice to have the opportunity to sit-down and enjoy the salsa. Great for take-out though.

Burritos were pretty good and a good price at $ 6.25. Gonna try the sandwiches next time!

Stopped by this evening. No yellow rice. No black beans. No pico. No corn salsa. No cheese. No thanks.

Ciabatta bread, for a Cuban, is not authentic bread. it is an Italian bread. Would appreciate it being authentic.

Very good burrito. Having just moved here from the Bay Area, I was craving an authentic taqueria experience. Sort of sad to see that most of the reviewers say it’s like Chipotle. .. but I guess that is most of America’s only experience with the taqueria format. The only thing I would have changed would be to ask for more of the pico de gallo(which was fresh and delicious) and I probably would have asked for some of the hotter salsa as well. I’ll definitely be going back.

I grew up in Tampa Florida, I ate Cuban sandwiches almost every day in high school and this place knocks it out of the park. They are delicious! Order the Cuban, and you will not be disappointed!

What a wonderful addition to the Northside! Chipotle, eat your heart out! El Cubano Burrito offers lots of tasty authentic food at reasonable prices. The staff have always been friendly and I appreciate how cozy and real it feels when I go there. I love that they have vegetarian options too.

Just moved into the neighborhood from Downtown Minneapolis and stopped here for dinner. I bought a Cubano burrito, which appears to be the name for the standard build your own burrito. I went with yellow rice, shredded beef, various toppings, and the habanero salsa. The burrito was larger than Chipotle but similar in taste. The shredded beef was seasoned well and the habanero salsa was perfectly(very) spicy. Although El Burrito Cubano is similar to Chipotle, I enjoy supporting a small local business that offers a more personal touch than a larger chain. They also offer pizza and a variety of sandwiches. If the Cubano sandwich is as good as I am hoping, this place will likely become a regular stop.

I’m a frequent Chipotle person and figured I’d give this place a try. I got the chicken burrito with white rice pinto beans spicy chicken lettuce onions medium salsa cheese and sour cream. The burrito tasted awesome but it wasn’t as good as what I usually get from chipotle. The staff that was working were super nice. I would recommend this place if you’re in a Mexican mood it’s just not for me.

This is the first in what I hope will be a series of reviews in my quest to find a really good Cuban sandwich in the Twin Cities. Each review will include an overall ranking(in this case four stars) for the establishment as well a ranking for the sandwich itself. Per wikipedia: The sandwich is made with ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and sometimes salami on Cuban bread. That is what I am looking for. There is something about this combination that is absolute magic. Good ham, but not too sweet, roasted pork loin, swiss cheese(real), dill pickles like McD’s puts on a burger, ballpark yellow mustard(don’t fancy this part up) and press the sandwich on a hot grill. And keep the mayo away from it. EBC’s version uses ciabatta bread which is ok but did not add much to the sandwich. They also use the shredded pork butt that is used on their burritos. The seasoned meat was good, but again not quite what I was hoping for. They also use provolone instead of swiss. Their last variation was using sweet pickles which moved the sandwich away from that tart tangy harmony. All in all the sandwich was good but not an authentic Cuban. Would I get the sandwich again, yes. Would it fit the description of an authentic Cuban sandwich, no. Three stars on the Cuban sandwich scale. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely will return again if I am in the area.

I love the Cuban sandwich. The Cuban burritos are large and fine, but as my one Cuban friend told me, «there is no such thing as a Cuban burrito.» And he should know.

This place is a tiny little hole-in-the-wall, but aren’t those always the best? The people who work there are super friendly, the ingredients are fresh, AND they have Coke and Orange Fanta in glass bottles! Their guacamole is some of the best I’ve had. El Burrito is a wonderful, quality find in a world that seems to have embraced quantity over quality. You need to go here and be reminded of what a burrito is supposed to taste like.

My Roasted pork burrito with black beans and rice was very tasty! I ended up eating the inner contents with out the tortilla. I’m certain I’d love a salad version of this! The gentleman who helped us was very friendly and prepared our items quickly. You can feel good about supporting this local business.

I can’t believe I just found out about this place! The bf and I ventured to El Burrito Cubano after reading reviews about their Cuban sandwiches. That’s what he ended up getting. As for me, I got the burrito cubano with yellow rice, pulled chicken, guac, cilantro, lettuce, salsa verde, and the habanero hot sauce. It was ah-may-zing. I didn’t actually get a ridiculously large burrito like I would have at Chipotle or Qdoba, but the flavor of their chicken was 10x better than either of the two places. Also, if you like spicy, def get the habanero sauce and the guac was absolutely out of this world. His Cuban sandwich was also really, really good. The whole buttering-the-top-of-the-ciabatta-to-sear-it method really works to their advantage. It is a tad on the greasy side, but worth the flavor. Seeing as to how we got all this for 15 dollars, I can’t wait to go back. Nom nom nom.

We meant to grab a bite at this place a couple of weeks ago, but couldn’t due to bad weather. We decided to grab a quick bite to eat here after we bought a few things at the local farmers market. It’s located right off 94 and is situated between light industry and neighborhoods. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Burrito Cubano. The Cuban was very simple, ham, pork, Swiss, sweet mustard and pickles. They throw it on the grill press for a few minutes to add crispiness to the ciabatta bread and melt the Swiss. The first bite was fantastic. The key is the flavor in the ham and pork; which was light and clean. The pickles and sweet mustard did the rest. The Burrito Cubano was enormous! We got yellow rice and shredded pork with mild salsa, corn and tomatoes. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were clean and mixed well together. The rice really made the burrito and the shredded pork was tasty as well. You need to park on the street and seating is limited to a few outdoor tables and chairs. Fantastic food at a great price.
