Salsa and white nacho cheese dips weren’t very good. That’s the only thing taking the score down. The service was very attentive and fast. Wife had the #4 with a taco, tostada and enchilada. She said it was excellent. I had the super burrito with rice and it was great. We ordered 4 soft tacos to go for people at the hotel and they really liked them. Would go back again.

I love the vibe from this restaurant! The inside is nicely decorated and there was live music playing outside, which was entertaining. I’m not a fan of Mexican food but to my surprise, the food and the drinks were very good. The potion was quite large. Overall, it was a nice dinning experience and I will definitely come back!

I have eaten at El Loro a few times. The service is always great. Friendly and quick. There Margaritas are strong and just how I like them. The dish with chicken and shrimp was very good. And a very large portion. I would eat there again

Had lunch here yesterday on Cinco. We knew it would be busy. Service was still great. Food even better. I had burritos grande with beef. Came with all the fixings, sides. It was huge. Couldn’t finish it. I’m really picky when it comes to Mexican food. Was spoiled with authentic all my life. For Bloomington this place was good.

The pineapple steak dish is pretty cool and worth trying. I work nearby and sometime my team goes to Chile’s across the street. This is way better than Chile’s. Not the most«authentic» mexican food, but it is all good, and the cool thing is that they have unique dishes(like the stuffed pineapple) that make it a worthwhile experience.

Nice find in an office building. Didn’t even know they were open when I walked up. Fresh food for a reasonable price. Had the pineapple stuffed meal and it was enough for 2 people. Full of flavor!

One of the best places to get a good, homemade Mexican meal in the area. All good ingredients and really great drinks! We come here often.

El Loro is easily in my top 3 favorite Mexican restaurants. The staff are friendly and outgoing, and the food is incredible every time! They serve the best rice I’ve ever had, and my go-to meal is the Burritos Grande. It’s huge! I find myself having to take home leftovers every time and I’m a big guy who is typically pretty good about clearing his plate. Their guacamole is phenomenal too! Couldn’t recommend this place anymore than I do.

Jalisco is where it’s at. Massive pile of Steak, Chicken and Shrimp over rice and cheese. There is something special about the way all the flavors come together. All the ingredients here are quality, service good. Drinks are also good. Very large inside. You can easily seat a group. Tasty and great Value

I have dined here a number of times and the food and service is consistently good. Margaritas are exceptional and the chips and sauce are equally good. The pork carnitas are very tasty and my favorite.

First time here and very impressed! As everyone says the portions are preposterous and there’s going to be leftovers for days. I ordered the Molcajete Mexicano and took a video when it came out bubbling and steaming and sizzling, fragrant and beautiful. Absolutely delicious and the Happy Hour«medium margarita» was 28oz at $ 5.50 and honestly the best one I’ve ever had, hands down. The service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Excellent value, can’t wait to return!

El Loro in Bloomington on American Blvd(frontage road near the Mercedes dealership) — I recommend this spot for drinks and chips. Margaritas are large, the white dip is very good, whatever it is, and it is not crowded. We eat at the Savage location, but visit this one just for drinks and chips. Downside: service can be slow.

I’ve gone to El Loro twice with a large party this week and loved it both times! I’m in town for work, and this Mexican restaurant is conveniently located within walking distance. The staff was very welcoming and social. They made jokes, were attentive and were quick with their service. That’s not always easy for a party of 7 – 10 people. The food was on point! I ordered the Chori Pollo, and one of their combination meals. The amount of food and drink for the price was outstanding. It was so delicious. I am ashamed to admit, I will probably go back again this week. I loved it!

Multiple members of our party became ill the evening of Oct. 24, 2015, after dining at El Loro. My friends experienced severe stomach cramping, vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours. They are only now starting to feel slightly better. Do not visit this restaurant.

Service has really gone downhill. The servers we loved are either gone or working the bar area. Last week our waiter still had our beverage order wrong after 2 tries. He wasn’t apologetic nor would he write anything down. There were only 3 of us and ice water with lemon is not that hard to remember. It went downhill from there … We are done here. The food portions have also been smaller over the last 6 months.

Great food! They were fast and our server Darwin was great. Kept my glass full and brought me a fork immediately after I dropped mine.

Great food, AWFUL service by a guy named Darwin. We got there before 5 on a Friday and were instantly made to feel unwelcome, and as if we were keeping him from something more important. Our food came out very quickly, and we ordered another round of margaritas and our server brought the bigger size, saying they were out of the glasses of the smaller size. They tasted like pure mixer – all sugar. The thing that bugged me is he didn’t ask if that’s what we would want… maybe a half gallon of margarita mix is a little much! I’ll go back but I will not let this guy be our server, he really ruined the experience.

I love Mexican food but this place was just alright. The food was good but the service wasn’t on par with what you expect from any restaurant, I’m not a fan of waiting on refills of water or waiting over 10 minutes for food. The Margarita that I ordered was light on the tequila as well. Besides all that, the restaurant was clean and the food was very satisfying.

Sometimes the service is a bit off but the food is good. Tastes great & comes out fast. The fresh chips & salsa with the cream sauce are the best.

Food was bland and over cooked, the margarita had an aftertaste like it was made with powder. We complained about it to the waitress, the manager returned and was rude and defensive, he acted like we were trying to get our meal for nothing, which was not true, if we wanted to do that we would have just walked out. We will never go to an El Loro again

I have enjoyed El Loro; but I went here for lunch and was horribly disappointed. The pulled pork in my burrito was crispy; it had to have been dried left-overs. I asked the waiter to take it back and replace it with ground beef instead. The sauce that was on that was floury and tasteless. I doubt that I will ever return to this location. I would strongly recommend that you avoid this location like the plague but would not advise against the other locations.

Happy we wandered into this place, the location of which can’t seem to hold anything long-term because it’s oddly in an office building. Prompt and friendly service, huge portions and tasty food. We’ve been there twice and the food was a little better the first time but we will still be back. Crazy happy hour drink specials and unlimited chips and salsa(and ranch dressing… weird…).

Came here based on Unilocal reviews and proximity to hotel. Great family experience. We had 4 of the various combo meals and they were good. My wife had fajitas del mar which contained multiple varieties of seafood. It was most excellent. I pirated a couple shrimp off the skillet and they were very fresh and flavorful. We would definitely come again.

This is a regular lunch spot for my coworkers and I can see why… On my last trip, I had a combo plate & a «small»(it was not small) margarita. It was $ 11 total. Good portion size too so hard to beat the bang for the buck. The menu can be a little overwhelming with the options but so far I haven’t been disappointed with what I’ve tried. I can never decide so the combo plates are a good bet. Bonus. Chips/salsa/queso are damn tasty and complimentary with the meal.

Diluted. That about describes it. It isn’t a new restaurant, it is a another location. One could argue that even great restaurants get diluted when they start opening multiple locations and the food here tastes a little diluted. I have tried their other Bloomington location and it performed about as well. The food isn’t boring, but it isn’t exciting either. If you don’t get excited about your food then you probably won’t be disappointed.
