We’ve ordered from this place for years b/c South hasn’t always had a ton of options(now there’s Parkway and Di Nokos). First off, Fast Eddie’s is never fast. It will always take at least 45 minutes but it can go well over an hour. The pizza is your basic thin crust. If you like that style then it hits the spot. And it can be inconsistent. Sometimes you get a great one with lots of toppings and other times it’s mediocre, 90 minutes of waiting, and lukewarm.

This is a New York style pizza, with cheap pasty sauce and decent spices. It’s kind of expensive for what it is, and it is a little slow for the cost. Delivery on a Thursday took 35 minutes when ordered at 4:35. The«salad» they sent was a bed of wilted brown iceberg lettuce with 2 slices of cucumber cut in half, a slice of tomato cut into quarters and some carrot shavings. It comes with a Marzetti dressing packet. Remember those? From back in the 80s? They did send some nice coupons, so I may try their other food before I write them off for good. The delivery guy was friendly and helpful, as I was wrangling a toddler as he delivered the pizza. I’m not a pizza snob, and I don’t think you need to have radicchio paste and lobster butter toppings, but a little care with pizza can turn even a mediocre pie into good food, and I just didn’t get that from Fast Eddie’s.

Absolutely love this pizza joint. I have experience only with delivery. First, its delicious. Second, its cheap! They have a great menu including pasta, sandwiches, and salad. All for free delivery. Just some quirks I love: delivery guys are nice and genuine; they cut all pizzas in triangles(real slices); and they have great coupons. They lose a star because 4⁄5 times we ordered a side of ranch they’ve forgotten it.

This place can be great or horrible, they are very inconsistent. Sometimes the pizza is just friggin’ amazing: fresh, well-cheesed and good toppings. Other times it seems as if the pizza has been sitting around for an hour while they did other things and the cheese can’t even cover huge patches of sauce that are just naked. Several times I’ve gotten extra cheese just to make sure the pizza had plenty of cheese on it. From my recollection the sandwiches are horrendous here so I would caution you on those. I don’t think the garlic bread is very good, either. The popcorn chicken, on the other hand, is pretty tasty with some hot sauce. I have also experienced what others have, in that sometimes it takes over an hour for them to show up and with ‘Fast’ in the name, it doesn’t serve them well to take so long to show up to a nearby residence. Then on top of that to have the pizza all stale and old when it shows up, that sucks. Maybe they need to invest in a better method of either production or storage because many times I’ve hoped to get the great Eddie’s, only to find the pizza all dry and wilted. Another thing: they inexplicably close from like 2 – 5 or something on Sundays, and possibly other afternoons as well. I can understand if they need to regroup or whatever, but that’s right in the middle of some peak game-watching time and, you’d think, money-makin’ opportunities. They have lost my business several times due to this. Eddie’s, get it together and you’ll be my #1 neighborhood joint again! You close too early and Parkway is taking your business away!

I will start off with a disclaimer, I discovered that my car had been towed right before my roommate asked about ordering pizza from this place. You could say that my disposition was a little overcast, to say the least. With that being said; Any pizza place should be able to get you a pizza to your house within 40 min. ESPECIALLY if you only live 6 min away. And if it’s 1pm on a Sunday afternoon. These guys need to change their name. My roommie and I agreed upon taco pizza with some garlic cheese bread sticks. He ordered it at 1:15pm and we received it at about 2:20pm. WTF?! For a regular ol’ pizza place, that is pretty bad. But for a pizza place with FAST in their name?! Well, that’s just false advertising. Seriously, a fucking HOUR! Not only did it take FOREVER, but the delivery person didn’t have one of those little insulated pizza bags that keeps your pizza warm, so we ended up with a luke warm pizza. Sweet… We also weren’t expecting a shitty paper thin crust… So *surprise* on that one too. The biggest(worst) surprise about our sub par experience was that in my first bite of pizza. there was a fucking hair in it. Yup. Short, light colored and curly. I have super long, straight brown hair, my roommie has short black hair. Pretty stoked that I just had a strangers hair in my damn mouth. I tossed the slice and pouted until my roommate was ready to drive me to the impound lot. The toppings on our pizza weren’t great. The tomatoes were all pink and gross. The sauce was lackluster. Nothing, absolutely nothing was good about my experience. In fact, when I got home later, I baked a frozen pizza instead of heating up the left overs. You know it’s bad when someone chooses a shitty 10 for $ 10 Jack’s frozen pizza over a real one. As I said, I was already bitchy to boot, so obviously every little bad thing about this place turned into a full ordeal of hatred… but lateness, hair, and bad toppings… I don’t think I’m being too harsh here. My boyfriend says that pizza is usually rated on a scale of good to great because you can’t really mess up pizza. I, now, beg to differ. Don’t waste your time going here. Minneapolis is full of great pizza and life is too short to waste on bad pizza.

I normally throw away the Val Pak coupons but the picture of this pizza on a Fast Eddie’s coupon made me think otherwise. It looked like a thick crust with plenty of cheese and toppings. Well, perhaps bait and switch would be a good term to describe my experience. It was very thin crust, watered-down sauce and relatively tasteless in my opinion. You can certainly find better. Yes, even Domino’s or Papa John’s.

This is our neighborhood pizza joint when we need cheap take-out. If you’re looking for standard, greasy pizza, this place will certainly do it for you. And there are some great deals as coupons on their standard menu that bring the already affordable prices to rock-bottom. The only thing I’ll say is that I’ve found it to be a bit inconsistent, always good but sometimes great. Just wish it were *always* great. Lastly, I’ll say that I’ve become a bit of a pizza snob over the past few years and prefer places like Punch Pizza which is another reason that Fast E’s only gets 3 stars in my book. But nonetheless, a place worth checking out!

For a little hole in the wall pizza joint in southeast Minneapolis, this place puts out a dam good pie. I always order the same when tying out a new place. Large sausage, pepperoni and onion(preferably thin crust). This way I can compare size, price, ingredients and the like. This pizza was huge(at least 18in), priced right(3 topping for $ 17) and had great flavor with a little spicy after taste. Some pizza’s start out good, but by the time I’m full, I’m sick of the flavor. This one had me coming back for more a ½ hour after I put it away. Hell, I even got a coupon for $ 3 off a large 3 plus topping. That makes my next one only $ 14. That’s a steal this day and age.

When I used to get over this way I did stumble on this very hidden place on occasion. I remember it as being damn good, and worthy of it being your go to pizza joint if it’s your hood. I thank Thaddeus for the reminder, as it’s been awhile, but I think I’m legit in this rating.
