I love this store! I have outfitted two businesses: a law office and a dental office reception, office and break room with items from furnish. Also I have bought items for an apartment and my home. It is not uncommon that they have one of a kind high end items with little indication of wear. The key is to stop in often and look. I have been shopping here for about 4 years and the staff has always been friendly and very helpful. I also love spending money here because it goes to a great cause!

I don’t know why I liked this store so much. I didn’t buy anything here but it was fun to walk around. It reminds me of the repurposed loft apartments in NYC and Brooklyn. The building must have been some kind of heavy industry. PPL Shop/Furnish Office&Home sell mainly office furniture; desk, chairs, bookcases, etc. They have a few other items and some light industry items such as coolers for a deli, etc. If I lived here, I would buy work tables and stuff like that at this store. They also seem to be related to a local charity group which is a plus.

I have been buying stuff from PPL for 10+ years. If you need a chair, desk, or conference table this is the place to go. You can get a 20ft long conference table for like $ 350. Problem is the prices on chairs has gone way up. Plan to pay $ 100+ for chairs.

A good place to go for recycled office furniture, bikes, sometimes appliances and labware. In addition to that they stock items from catalogs and stores. You can find interesting items I’ve never seen elsewhere. One time I bought a couple of those mantel chimes with the steel balls like you see in Signals or Wireless for 60 or 70 dollars for 15 or 20 I think it was. As another poster mentioned, aside from the super bargains on office furnishings and the finds for clothes, books, home furnishings, appliances and the like, it is a great place to patronize as the shop is part of the efforts of the Project for Pride in Living which helps people learn job skills and work towards gainful employment. Shopping and supporting a good cause … what is not to like about that?

It is a great store if you are ever in need of filing cabinets or any other type of office furniture. We’ve been looking for months and had no idea a standard vertical filing cabinet would cost us over $ 300 new. However at this store they have several to choose from and they start at about $ 50. Also in the back room they have great old desks and old school business equipment like over head projectors, light tables, and storage lockers.

«PPL» stands for Project for Pride in Living, an organization that works with lower-income individuals and families to achieve greater self-sufficiency through housing, employment training, support services, and education. «SHOP» stands for Surplus Home and Office Products, and they have lots of said products here at fair prices. Particularly good prices on office furniture(desks, conference tables, filing cabinets, etc.). In the front of the store there is a more typical«thrift store» collection of clothing, housewares and the like. When you shop at SHOP, you are not only eliminating the need for new goods by purchasing used, but you are also helping to provide jobs for disadvantaged persons. We all win. Now go and shop SHOP!
