I used GDS for two courier deliveries when my work colleagues were in MN for a business meeting. Everyone at GDS was so helpful and courteous and they were perfectly on time for both deliveries.

I had been calling multiple delivery services to receives quotes for furniture delivery and encountered the first review about a successful delivery from West Elm, which is the location of my furniture that I need delivered thus I was excited to find a place with recommended good service and prices. I was leaving messages with companies on a Sunday although I plan to schedule the delivery later in the week and didn’t expect to hear back until later. I also read about another reviewer contacting the company on a Sunday so figured that it was alright to leave a message. I was unaware that the number listed for the company was a personal cell phone. I even suspected I had the wrong number as the owner didn’t answer with any company specific greeting. When I stated that I would like a quote for a delivery, I was told «No, I’m walking my dog!» I was additionally lectured for thinking that Sunday was a business day for any company. The remainder of the phone call was equally exceedingly rude and unprofessional. Extremely disappointed!

I used their service to pick up furniture I purchased from west elm in Edina. Apart from me picking it up myself this is the best delivery service EVER. The price is affordable and the service is outstanding. Don’t use the service West Elm recommends for delivery — Call General Delivery Service, Inc.

I purchased some furniture at the annual Blu Dot warehouse sale and this was the option for delivery. It cost about $ 60 for a van delivery of 2 tall dressers and 3 large mirrors and they had everything from same day delivery to any day the following week. Unfortunately, I had to go out of town prior to my scheduled time. I called and left a message (on Sunday) and promptly received a call back (same day). The owner emailed and texted the next day and then worked with Blu Dot to reschedule. One mover showed up on time and the pieces arrived in great shape. I would definitely work with this org again.

I used GDS the first time I ever needed to courier anything, and now I hired them for the second time as well. Their prices are totally reasonable, especially if you compare them to FedEx 24-​hour or Next Day services — GDS is half the price, and delivers in a fraction of the time! (Downtown Mpls to Eden Prairie in 3 hours was about 30 bucks. That’s a good deal.)
I thought their website was a little confusing, so I ended up calling both times and got right through to an employee. I got a confirmation email when it was delivered too, which helped me rest easy because both times I was sending confidential personal information. Plus I like the fact that I’m supporting a local business. :-)

I have used these guys twice now when I have been in a bind… Lifesavers! Great personalized service! Both times I recieved my delivery in plenty of time to spare. The rates are really reasonable. As an independent stylist, being able to continue to work on clients while they solved my time crunch… PRICELESS I will definately be calling them the next time I have an emergency.
