Let me start off by saying, I am not very religious, but I am spiritual. I felt a sense of tranquility when I first visited the Hindu Temple of Minnesota. I always think a place of worship, be it any faith, should be calm and quiet. May be it was just the day I visited this temple, but there were so many people in there reciting hindu hymns and praying to Lord Shiva. It was so peaceful and I think everyone at the temple could connect with the lord. The temple’s architecture takes the cake. It’s huge for a Hindu temple in the US. I have been to bigger ones in IL and CA before but this one was very traditional in its structure and took me all the way back home to India. The idols of all the gods are so well sculpted. The jewelry and the decoration of each and every god was done aesthetically. You don’t need to belong to a certain religion to appreciate spirituality. I think everyone should experience different cultures and respect different faiths. I do and I am happy that I have been to the most amazing places of worship in the US and around the world.
