Possibly one of the most ridiculous experiences Ive ever had. I ordered a triple 12oz americano(after I asked if they did 8oz which was a no). The barista put the paper cup under the portafilter, using a shelf that made it impossible to know what the shots looked like until it was handed to me. When I got the cup it had 5oz of espresso and zero water. It was clear that the guy had little idea of what he was doing and had little knowledge about the business itself. I would suggest more training to the baristas.

Once in a while I buy beans from Mapps. Mostly they roast light to medium, and they have a pretty good variety of origins from Africa to the Americas to the Pacific — I especially like their Guatemala Antigua. It’s hard to beat the prices here — $ 10/lb for fresh roasted specialty beans? Maybe it’s not the best coffee in the cities, but it’s a great value.

Good coffee, but there’s a $ 5 min purchase to use a card. I don’t carry cash and don’t usually want more than a coffee so I stopped going. Found other places in the market that don’t have a minimum charge with equally good brew.

Still the best coffee anywhere near Chi-Lake! Mapps is family owned & operated. They proudly roast their own special blends of beans in full view on the premises, so you always know you’re getting coffee as fresh as it can be. Stop by and say Hi! Watch the coffee roasting process, and you’ll see first hand the attention and love that goes into every cup. They also make their own blend of chai, and it’s fantastic. Try a «dirty chai» to taste the best of all worlds in one fine brew. You can’t take a wrong turn when you set your course to Mapps. They’ll always steer you right. And Bosco decrees that Derea is the Gem of The Midtown Global Market. She’ll delight your senses with her delectable coffee drinks! Navigate to Mapps today!

Coffee is decent but customer service is pretty weak. I had an issue there and was told to call back numerous times, didn’t have any of my messages returned and my issue was ultimately ignored. There are tons of good coffee shops in town — I would try one of them instead.

I can only comment on the solid 4-star iced chai I had(with pastries from another market vendor). It was a tad pricey in my opinion, but very refreshing with a good amount of spice for flavor. I’d stop by again when I’m in town and wandering through the market.

This little coffee stand is inside the Midtown Global Market. They had a lot of drink options including some unique combinations. I tried the cinnamon honey latte which is called a Café Miel. The espresso was really tasty and I liked the natural sweetness of the honey but the cinnamon was a little more Red Hots than I usually like — not sure if they used a cinnamon flavouring over actual cinnamon spice but it was pretty cinnamon-y if you’re into that. I think it would taste a lot better iced. If you only have debit/credit, note there’s a $ 5 minimum but there’s plenty of pastries to get along with your drink that will take you over that minimum easily but is worth it. Overall, better than Caribou or Dunn Bros for sure with cheap prices and friendly, fast service. If this place was more convenient for me, I would definitely frequent.

I frequent other coffee shops but try to support Mapps whenever I’m nearby. This is a family owned business that prides itself on it’s quality and offers coffee from other corners of the globe. This is a great little coffee spot in the Global Market. You are always greeted with a friendly smile behind the counter and staff is very personable. Prices are comparable or less than other competitors. If you’re a frequent visitor here ask for their«punch» card. Once you fill it up you get $ 2 off your next drink.

Great mint frape. For those of you who don’t carry cash, No credit cards for orders under $ 5 which is understandable. The drinks(the smaller which is still fairly large) s around 4 for specialty drinks.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I am a student at the Carlson School, and as everyone that the U knows, we have a Starbucks in our building. However, I would much rather walk a block to Mapps for coffee. It’s cheaper and it tastes much better. Being Indian, I don’t usually like chai that’s not homemade, but apart from one barista, the chai at Mapps is AMAZING. The ambience is also perfect for studying — makes sense since it’s right off campus. They also make good café miel, cappuccinos, herbal tea, and pastries(muffins, cookies, croissants, etc) Be mindful of one barista, though. I’m not sure of her name but shes a tall, skinny dirty blonde with a crop cut. It seems every time she makes my coffee, it is either tasteless or burnt. If she’s there when I go there, I just order herbal tea. Hard to mess that one up!

very kind and attentive staff. Family-owned…Cheaper than the chains and just as good. I work in the Midtown Exchange Building where this is located and have Mapps several times a week. Very good.

I really like Mapps and get my usual here just about every day. The service is great, drinks are good, and prices are good. They seem to have a big selection of teas and other drinks available. They also have almond and soy milk options which is nice if you have dairy issues. I like the fact that they have my regular drink down and start making it automatically the minute that I walk up.

Super wallet-friendly and really nice staff! They don’t have much for seating, but they are definitely worth the stop if you can find a chair. I like their iced coffee a lot and the café miel is lovely. Really great drinks all around and their quiche is a nice quick meal. Their baked goods are also pretty great. A lovely coffee shop and great for people-watching.

I am not a latte or frufru coffee girl. Give it to me dripped and strong. Mapps did just that. At first taste it seemed burnt but as we were driving around for our other errands, the coffee mellowed as it cold. Turned out to be a good cup of joe. It made me wonder if their coffee is like red wine … you just need to let it breathe. :-)

Always nice, Always personable, always patient, always in a good mood. They are like family. Also– their coffee is terrific. My favorite drink is the Café Miel.

Not a great latte… the coffee was a little off. The chai latte was really just ok as well. The upside was that it was convenient if you happen to be in the Midtown Global Market and need some joe. And, come to think of it, I’d rather have this place as my fall back for coffee in the MGM rather than seeing a Starbucks or other chain.
