Minneapolis Life Spa

I was given a spa day as a gift from my boyfriend. He arranged a facial, massage, mani and pedi with a lunch worked in as well. This was going to be a 4 hour ordeal. When I arrived they said I needed to fill out paperwork and then they’d have me change into a robe. Before I could do anything but the paperwork, I was taken back for my facial. When that was done, she told me to get dressed in my clothes and wait for my mani and pedi. I was previously told I would have my massage first so I wouldn’t be changing after getting my nails done. Oh well… I waited for the nail gal who seemed very rushed. I asked her if I could get a robe, because I still had a massage and being in clothes at the spa isn’t all that comfortable. She let me change, but man did I feel like I needed to hurry.
My nails looked great, but on one big toe she filed the nail too far and hit the quick, which bled and later scabbed. (Not so pretty) It was sensitive for days and I could only wear flip-​flops and had to sleep with socks on. I still get chills thinking about it. So while I was getting my nails done I asked about lunch and was told there wasn’t enough time for me to eat, even though both me and my boyfriend had called and made sure they knew I was having lunch and to schedule time for it. At one point they had even asked me if I wanted 30 or 40 minutes for lunch. They were able to move things a little bit and get me a quick lunch, but I had to eat carefully as my nails were freshly painted.
The bottom line is that the planning was HORRIBLE. Whoever coordinated it really didn’t do a good job.
I would like to say that every service I received, minus the pedi, was fantastic, and EVERY person I spoke to was very friendly and helpful.

After three months of searching for a new place to go for my monthly 90-​minute deep-​tissue massage I believe I have found a remarkable answer. The facility itself is excellent. The spa portion of the facility is professional and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The highlight of course was my massage with Liz. I have been receiving monthly massages for the past few years and I must say Liz rates near the top as a result of her perfect pressure, diligence in rooting out my points of tension and her positive demeanor. Wonderful all-​around experience and I can’t wait for next month.

–Master stylist Gregg created an amazing hairstyle for me with the latest cutting techniques for fine hair… he works magic in hair color with a special hand-​painting process called Balayage… no more stripes with my highlights and they will last longer… money saver in the long run!

Went here on a girl’s weekend with my mom. We both had spa packages with mani/​pedi and massages. They took really good care of us! Everyone was really friendly and nice, it was a top-​notch experience.
We had robes and slippers to wear between treatments, complimentary tea and water, and the entrance lounge for the spa treatments was very comfortable and relaxing.
The massages were AWESOME. We both had the same MT… and I don’t remember her name unfortunately, but she was just excellent, I will go back just for a massage with her! The manis/​pedis were great too.
Overall, it was a really good experience, a wonderful spa with wonderful people, and an incredibly relaxing afternoon.

Had one of the best massages ever with Liz this Sunday. She had soothing energy, and was attentive when I was specifying my needs. She reviewed the work she would do for me, and only talked during the massage when I talked, which is important to me; I like it to be quiet and completely relaxing. She asked for pressure preference, and checked in with me to make sure it was ok or if I wanted more or less pressure. The aromatherapy oils were delightful and soothing. I will be back to see Liz!

If you’re in town, this spa place is a MUST for a full body, 90 minute massage. I don’t remember her name (the massage therapist) but she was amazing… Okay, this sounds slightly perverted, but she hit the right spots! Hahaha… I have increased my mileage with running and she knew exactly where the pressure points were… Truly amazing…

So it’s a sunday in minneapolis. i am here on a business trip and in dire need of a massage after a long work week. I walked in without any expectation… and walked out feeling like i was transported to another place and time. I got a massage by Rich and his pressure and pace was perfect. Some therapists ask you what pressure you like and they still dont get it right, he didnt have to ask, he just did it perfectly. I would highly recommend a massage here and i used the discount from Unilocal,and coming from SF or NYC, i thought it was a bargain. Now if only i could have Rich follow me around and massage me every day, that would be bliss. Enjoy.

If I were to refer anyone to go get a professional wax, Facial or spa treatment. I would Highly Recommend LEAH.
