This place is a gem. The cocktails were very well made and the presentation was nice. We had the Harley Quinn and the Jean Grey both of which were whiskey based drinks and I was pleasantly surprised at how distinct they were. I would definitely visit again to try some more of them on the list. We went there on Friday evening and still got a decent seating and good service. Their appetizers are nice and the dry rub wings and Wedges with cheese dip were extremely well done. And kudos to the live band. They were extremely talented duo… One of the best I have heard amongst the pubs in the Twin Cities

We came here for my brothers birthday. We got the corned beef rolls as an app(which was the best thing we had there), I got the corned beef sandwich, my husband and brother got fish and chips, my other family got a burger and a chicken sandwich. I started feeling sick fairly quickly and ended up with what I can only assume was food poisoning. My husband, mother and brother all also got sick. Not only did we all get sick, but the food just wasn’t very good at all. The corned beef was incredibly tough and dry, which I wasn’t expecting as it said it was a signature item. I actually had to spit it out into my napkin because I couldn’t chew it. I also got a Guinness which tasted as if it was out through a root beer line. I definitely won’t be visiting this place again.

Great food, great drinks, great servers. But my main beef with this place is that they clearly don’t want you unless you’re going to be giving them lots of money(for drinks). The last time I was here, my friends and I ordered a few rounds of drinks while waiting for my father to arrive. So he made it to the place right after 9:00 and was greeted by the bouncer, who wouldn’t let my father in without his license. Now, I understand there are state laws and all, but my father is 50 years old and doesn’t drink, and they still refused him. Then, when I went to see what was going on at the door, the bouncer tried to make me leave! And I had already been there drinking beer for the past 2 hours! So I’m never going back there, because a place that cares more about their liquor sales than customer satisfaction and common courtesy does not deserve my patronage.

We have come here at least 5 times and we have always had a great time here. The tater tots are soo good and so are the French fries. We like to come here, get a drink and some apps, and listen to the live band. This a good local spot and we love coming here. If you are new to Minneapolis or an out of town guest you should come here but come a little earlier then usually on a nice night because they can only let so many people in a time so you might be wiring outside.

I visited Morrissey’s in their new coffees shop/event space for a party. The space is a nice size for a party yet very cozy. There are a lot of seats plus there is a great fireplace with seating surrounding the hearth. It is a great place to sit and talk with friends. The food was very good and different than the regular menu. We had excellent pot roast, chicken with mushrooms, quinoa salad(regular menu item), cheesy hash browns, and a great cheesecake. All of the items were excellent. Our server was excellent too. Very attentive yet not intrusive. She and her colleagues monitored the space, checked in regularly but not too much, and were generally very friendly. Of course the Guinness was excellent and poured perfectly. I recommend this event space for a party. It was very quaint and well done.

Our server Taylyr was super nice and friendly AND she checked in on us from time to time which seems like a lost art form in restaurants today. Not here. Good atmosphere combining the Irish theme with an Uptown flair. Nice selections on the menu without overwhelming us. I had the corned beef and my wife had the bangers and mash. We both got mashed potatoes which had some hints of green in there — good touch. Her bangers were great and she had mushy peas(first time for me) that were a fun add to her plate. My corned beef was sliced up like you would see on a brisket; very tender and tasty. We were there for dinner, but it looks like they have a nice happy hour too with realistic times.

Morrissey’s is my go-to place for a late night beer. They have a good beer selection and usually there is a band playing. I love the live music! It is a small quaint place that’s a nice hangout with friends. Their bartenders and servers are nice and give quick service. I haven’t eaten here before, but I have friends that have gotten the burgers, and they look delicious. PS They also redid the bathrooms, so no more awkward line in the hallway next to the band.

I ordered the corned beef and cabbage entrée. The portion was generous and the beef(and cabbage) were deliciously seasoned and very tender. It was served with parsley-infused mashed potatoes and a terrific horseradish sauce. Spouse and I both enjoyed a cup of very rich and flavorful potato-leek soup. Spouse reported that her burger and fries were very good. We would definitely return to further explore the menu.

Morrissey’s is a nice Irish themed bar. I appreciated the exposed wood and warm dark feel. They pour a good Guinness(not as common as you might think) and have some pretty solid food options. I thought the Belfast burger was good. It had a good sauce on it. I ordered it medium but it came out well done. oh well. The corned beef rolls were aweful. Corned beef rolled in a cold pancake? The chipotle dry rub wings were pretty decent. Could use some more heat in the seasoning but they were cooked well. The food just nothing special and around $ 15pp. Id go drink a pint there again for sure though.

This is a hip place to grab a few drinks with some friends and catch up. The atmosphere is your typical Irish pub but add some trendiness. The booths are cozy and it’s dimly lit. They have a decent happy hour on drinks from 4 – 7 along with some food specials.(Be careful though because the tap beers listed on the beer tent aren’t entirely accurate). If you’re a whiskey lover, this place is your heaven! They have so many different brands and types to try… Who knew whiskey came in so many different«flavors»! I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of different foods the menu had to offer. I decided on the chicken salad wrap with French fries and didn’t have a single regret. The fries were crispy, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The wrap was fresh and tasteful. We most recently stopped in on a Tuesday and came to learn that they do «Dj» trivia every Tuesday! That was a fun, pleasant surprise which led our entire party to have a couple more drinks than planned. The only reason I’m giving four stars is due to the service we received. Our waitress was not friendly at all and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. She also declined to inform us of the happy hour, I ordered a Blue Moon(which is on the beer tent alongside all the other tap beers) and found out when my check came that it wasn’t on happy hour since it’s the beer of the month. So okay it was only two dollars more without the happy hour deal but I would have liked to have been made aware. It happens! I have a strong feeling I’ll be frequenting this pub fairly often while living in uptown!

Morrisey’s is one of my favorite locations in the city. The ambiance is fantastic. It really has the right feel of an Irish pub, low key, but really fun. On weekends they have live music, and trivia on Tuesdays. Two of the owners are around on a regular basis, and are really awesome guys! They have a great whiskey selection, and a pretty solid tap list with some seasonal rotations. Every once in a while they make an infused whiskey that is FANTASTIC. I’ve been to Morrisey’s for every meal — Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner, and have ordered all kinds of things from the menu. Everything has been fantastic. I haven’t ever found something I didn’t like. That said, my favorite thing on the menu is the Tully Chicken Sandwich/Salad. The whiskey glaze is to die for. The servers are awesome — they’re just real, and will joke around with you and/or give you crap if you’re being ridiculous. I love that. Morrisey’s is amazing. If you’re in the area, its a MUST.

Went on a whim last night and it was the best decision I’ve made in a while. In all honesty, my husband and I pretty much despise every new bar that has opened in our Uptown neighborhood over the past few years for reasons involving snooty clientele, expensive overrated food, and, well, hipsters. I never would have thought I was in Uptown in this place. The food is amazing and priced accordingly. I’m so excited I’ve been drooling thinking about their corned beef rolls. Might go back tonight! Our first server was very welcoming and enthusiastic, the late night server was mediocre, but still managed to help us. The live music was an added bonus as well. Just hope this place stays hidden from the Uptown Hipster crowd.

Walked over here since it’s close to a friends apartment. The live music was playing and the drinks were flowing! Didn’t try much of the menu — just Guinness, Surly, and the Corned Beef roll appetizers. The place itself was neat and clean, but filled to capacity. Somehow though the bathroom lines were pretty short and the facilities were clean. The band played celtic music as well as some more traditional songs. The appetizer was very good — we even ordered a second plate of them. Very good corned beef, with a nice amount of meat in the rolls. Quite a few of them on the plate too. If they served them with a side of mashed potatoes or veggies you could call it a meal. Had a fun time here. Prices were reasonable for the drinks and the food. Festive atmosphere, and live Irish music. If that’s what you’re down for, you’ll probably have a great time!

Walked in here at 10 a.m. hungover as all get up. The bartender might as well have been a doctor to us 7 guys realizing we were on a bachelor party weekend. Poured me a Guinness and ordered the steak and eggs. For like $ 10 I had a better steak that many steak houses. The conversation, atmosphere, décor, beer, food, and service was spectacular. I will definitely be back. I wish there was a Morrissey’s in Green Bay. I’d never leave.

Morrissey’s is an all-round good time, whether you just want to watch a game and drink, hear some live music, or play some trivia. I’ve seen the bar pretty empty at times(which I’m a fan of for selfish reasons), and I’ve also seen it packed with people out for a good time. The bartenders and wait staff are very nice. Good service even when it’s crowded. Their boxtydillas are amazing and the bloodymarys are some of the best I’ve had in Uptown. I experienced St. Patty’s day there this year and it was the most fun I’ve had since moving to Minneapolis 6 months ago.

My favorite pub in uptown. They have live music nightly and the first time I ever came here, there happened to be several Irish patrons just hanging out that had a jam session. They were not scheduled talent and had never played together but they were amazing! Ok and now I’m realizing I could have been the most gullible person there? Who knows, regardless… I love this place. Drinks are stiff, service is amazing and the food is awesome too! I usually get the Dublin chicken but the beef stew is just like my mom used to make. My bf and everyone I have brought here loves this place. They have a great sense of humor.,. There used to be a cross stitched sign that read«please don’t do coke in the bathroom» it was hilarious… Even better… Someone stole the sign and in it’s place is an empty frame and written in sharpie is a note saying… «See, this is why we can’t have nice things» The whole thing cracks me up, everyone is nice friendly and down to earth. No pretentiousness just a few people hanging out having some beers:) love it!

I really like coming to this place on Friday nights. It is more of a relaxing environment(compared to the big bars) so you can sit, have a couple of beers, and hang out with friends. Has had live music every time we have gone and usually there are a few people who get up and dance — that’s what we like best! Good beer selection and their tater tots are delicious! Definitely recommend for a fun weekend night out!

The tater tots are SPOTON! The seasoned sour cream perks them up a little, but their delicious on their own too. To be honest, my guilty pleasure is coming here when I’ve had a bad day. The Irish Potato Soup reminds me of a potato soup varietal my Grandmother used to make on rainy or sick days. It’s savory, with the perfect balance of leek and spice– absolutely necessary with potato soup, which can be bland if not prepared properly. The prices are fair, and they have a house-made cocktails list with some new drinks to try. Parking is on the street, so don’t be afraid to troll Lyndale/Lake Street for a Parking Spot. I seem to have wonderful luck, others may not. Overall, you should come check it out. The live music rounds out the great ambience.
