I stopped in around dinner time for a small bite on a Saturday and it was starting to have a wait. When I left, it was much busier. The panzanella salad was an excellent combination of salty from the cheese and sweet from the cherries with the bread nicely soaking up the balsamic dressing. I liked the selection of wines by the glass, however mine was a bit disappointing. The couple sitting next to me also enjoyed their pizza. I would give this review 3.5 stars and this is due to the service. After waiting and asking twice about sitting at the pizza bar, I ended up asking a different person to place my order than was assigned to me. I will likely go back to give the pizza a try and maybe during a less busy time.

I’m torn. On one hand the food is great but the service and quality is terrible. Mozzarella platter is a must have. The rest is seriously no better than Greenhill pizza or olive garden. My issue is my daughter. She has an extreme allergy to dairy and egg. I called ahead and explained the situation and asked if they could accommodate her or if they would mind her brining food from home. They appeared to check with the chef and confirmed they could accommodate. The night we arrived server was friendly and we explained that we called in, the extreme allergy, etc. She understood(or so I thought) and explained their non fresh pasta was good. Food arrived and we confirmed again. She said it was good. After nearing the bottom of the bowl we found their fresh noodles mixed in a bit(which are not egg or dairy free) She stopped eating but felt sick. We left quickly and gave her meds to try to retard the reaction. We made it home and she threw up all over the floor, toilet and everywhere in between. Hives head to toe and now diarea for 2 days. We are talking I’m torn because my view on my daughters allergies is that I don’t expect any company to forcefully accommodate. I give them opportunity to say yes or no. When a company says yes however, I give them all the opportunity in the world to confirm it is okay. I don’t really know if the server was at fault by not putting in the order with the seriousness of the allergy or if sloppy allergic exposing practices were used in the kitchen. Either way, it is sad that chain restaurants like Apple bees or Culver’s can assure us and succeed but an upscale place like this makes promises they can’t keep putting my daughter in danger. So in summary, assuming you do t have allergies, it is a great place to try their Mozzarella… Besides that, I would pass.

Six of us went to the«bar» area to watch the NFL playoff game between Green Bay and Arizona. The bartender was grumpy and the rest of the staff did not like that we were there since we were cheering. Imagine that, cheering for a football game. at a «bar». We’re not the rowdy types… our youngest was 50 years old. The game went to 10pm and then the overtime started. We kept getting«shush» and verbals that indicated we were not welcome. We had to leave to watch the overtime part of the game down the street. Avoid this place to hang out at the bar. Don’t stay eating late either since the staff doesn’t like that it eats into their important after-work life.

Made the mistake of ordering the Pizza Fresca. Basically a big cracker with a trace of cheese and a couple pieces of spinach. It was so tasteless that we ordered a small cup of marinara sauce for which they ended up charging me $ 1.50! Ended up ordering a meatball pizza which was pretty good. The Caesar Salad for two was good and big enough for the four of us. And the caprese salad featured some excellent tasting mozzarella.

LOVE the stuffed pizza. Great salads. Nice location, Love the home made pasta too! The down side. The music is WAY too loud and poor choice of rock music for this place. That almost made us leave. The service is hit or miss. Also I wish they were still open for lunch on weekdays. I went there with a friend from out of town and we were very disappointed to find them closed.

Great atmosphere. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was empty. Our server was great and made great recommendations. After much debate we chose the Bianaca pizza, It was incredible. We also had the chopped Italian salad, and a pasta dish, forgot which one. We will be coming back again!

New items have been added to the menu. The wings were AWESOME!!! Perfect seasoning and wood roasted… Mmmmmmm! The Bianca pizza with truffle oil was amazing. Truffle oil on pizza! Yum! You MUST try the shrimp stuffed mushrooms. This chef and his staff really have it going. The service, as always, was perfect. Ryan was personable and very helpful. Again, we went in with some friends around 5 and when we left, there was not an open seat. I can see why. This is one of our favorite spots and will be for anyone who goes in and gives it a try.

Their pizza is amazing, my favorite is the margarita. Staff isn’t bad either! I feel like this is the only restaurant worth going to in the 50th and France area. I live walking distance and have tried them all. This is the best!

My favorite deep dish pizza place in Minneapolis. Large deep dish, sausage, cooked well done. Magnificent!

Really the perfect place — not too overpriced, delicious pizzas, a free ramp to park in right behind the building, and some nice pastas too. You really get the best of both worlds here. The deep dish is tasty, but returning and getting a wood fired pizza it was even better. Great options too for pizzas across the board. The only thing I didn’t find too tasty was the mozzarella stand alone — we ordered some with tomato to taste it, but it didn’t do much for me but on the pizza it was delicious. Probably just my tastes though. The spaghetti and meatballs were also very good; nice sauce, good quality meat, a perfect compliment to the pizza. Service was outstanding — it took a few minutes to decide and at most places«can you give me a minute» with the response«I’ll be back» means seasons change outside before the server returns. Not here. Very friendly and helpful. The only frustrating thing was the party at the next table over. A gentleman came in who was not with the party, with a backpack. He knew them, but loitered around the table forever. His backpack kept pushing up against our table(dude, this is not your living room or the bar — sit down or go home). It’s not the restaurants fault, and we could have said something, but we don’t do that in Minnesota, we silently brood and talk about the person later on. Really this is my new favorite Italian restaurant. For price and value and quality, you can’t go wrong.

Visted Mozza Mia with my family, my parents have dined here before and recommended it. The wait for a table was roughly 10 – 15 minutes, the host was not all that enthusiastic or welcoming but we didn’t mind. The noise level in the restaurant was quite high and we had to raise our voices to converse, so I was not too fond of that. We ordered the lasagna(pasta of the day), large deep dish pizza and a margherita pizza. We understand that deep dish pizzas take quite a while to cook but it was a tad more than 30 minutes. The first meal item that came out was the lasagna — very tiny and it was not hot, it was not anything special. My mother and I make better homemade lasagna than that. My family ate the deep dish pizza and the toppings were a tad bare on the pizza and that it was quite soggy. Also my mother usually likes her deep dish pizza with ALOT of extra sauce so she asked the server if she could get more sauce. The waitress took a while to bring it out, and when my mother tried it with her pizza, the sauce was very cold and was nothing near the sauce that was used for the pizza. As for my margherita pizza, it was average, barely any basil and quite basic tasting. I was not thrilled with the pricing for such mediocre italian cuisine. $ 2 for EACH additional topping on the pizza, when they barely put any on there? Waste of money. In conclusion I felt the food was overpriced and overrated. It was nice giving the place a try, but I was quite disappointed. Probably would not be a comeback for me.

Food was good. Service was terrible. Seeing as it was a Monday night, it was not too busy. However, it took over 10 minutes for staff to bring a glass of water and ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Staff asked twice if we wanted a box for leftovers, because they forgot our answer the first time. We asked for the tab to be separated and they got it wrong — twice. Food was the bright spot. Crust on pizza was excellent. Small Italian salad was tasty and sizable. Others in the group ordered margherita pizza, two types of bruschetta, and pasta.

I would actually give this a 3.5 rating. First, I will say, we didn’t try any of the mozzarella offerings, which may have made my rating higher. Our experience wasn’t bad, just kind of average. Host greeted us and seemed bored. It wasn’t very busy on our weeknight visit which might have explained that. We had a reservation and were told a table needed to be cleaned up. A few minutes later we were brought to a booth. Our server was nice and attentive, but didn’t say much when we asked for recommendations; he pretty much just repeated what was on the menu. We ordered the small Italian chopped salad and neither of us was hugely impressed. We both didn’t care for the salami(very gamey, which some may like) and I found the taste of the salad as a whole somewhat bitter. I would pass on it if we went again. For pizza we went classic and chose the sausage. It’s a simple pizza but good… I liked the crust(and it wasn’t burnt, as with our recent experience at Pizzeria Lola) and the sauce was not over complicated, letting the mozzarella and sausage shine. Sausage had good flavor and a mild kick, the cheese was excellent. Overall, kind of a ho-hum dinner.

I recommend using bite squad to get this food. My friend and I walked into the restaurant about 8 o’clock on a Wednesday night. There were many tables available and yet we were told we had to wait 10 minutes for a seat. Even after 10 minutes we were not seated. Finally we were seated and then it took at least another five minutes before the server came to our table. The food was very good but because the service was so poor I have to give it two stars. I once had the food as a delivery and I thought it was phenomenal. If they can hire enough people to staff the restaurant I think they would do much better. My friend and I shared the goat cheese which was really good and a margarita pizza which was pretty good but I felt the mozzarella cheese wasn’t that fresh on that pizza.

I have only been here once, and so far I like it. I went with the deep dish pizza. All the makings of a great pizza. A nice place in a great location. I will be back here sometime for sure.

The service was just ok I think we saw our waitress 2 times in the hour 15 minutes we spent in this place. The pizza I got with wood roasted mushrooms was a little bland which was a let down. My fiancé had the Gamberi pizza which had shrimp and pesto, I should have got that one, it was so flavorful and the shrimp weren’t over cooked.

What would have given this review a somewhat redeemable three star rating is that some of the staff were actually very good. One guy in particular at the bar was very friendly and helpful, gave my father and I zero attitude, and was quite pleasant to talk to. Unfortunately, it’s not three stars, its two. Why? 1. We only ordered the calamari, so that didn’t really influence the two-star rating… but it was pretty«meh». Over fried, overly chewy, dull sauce. Nothing special. 2. The other bartender. Or who I assume was a bartender, since he was standing behind the bar messing around with stuff. although I never actually saw him pour any drinks since it was so dead. The words to best describe him would be rude, dismissive, unresponsive, and to some degree, snide. Seriously, if it weren’t for the other, more helpful and more pleasant bartender, Mozza Mia would have gotten a one-star rating. The rude bartender was THAT awful. Not only did he point blank completely ignore us, but when my dad tried to get his attention to ask him a stupid chatty question about sports(he tried getting his attention THREE different times), he downright ignored him, then finally turned around and give a very rude and snide response. Just snippy, shitty, and completely uncalled for. Yeah I get it, you’re busy standing around looking busy… I mean, after all, the restaurant was six people away from being DEAD — including the two of us; and my dad is a mildly annoying older gentleman… but he was just trying to be chatty for a second with the bartender. There was absolutely NO reason to be so rude to him, especially since my dad had been buying more expensive drinks and was asking a question about football that would have taken a second to respond to, at least civilly. I know this location seems to be a revolving door for restaurants, maybe Mozza Mia will be next if the food, and definitely certain staff, don’t improve. Unfortunately, can’t say I’ll be back.

I’m not one to dole out stars willy nilly, but I just feel so compelled to give Mozza Mia all 5. The housemade mozzarella was SOGOOD. I cannot emphasize this enough. I never considered mozzarella to be the kind of cheese you would eat plain, but I am a changed woman. My one qualm with the tasting platter was that there was too much other stuff, not enough mozzarella. Just make sure you order something from the mozzarella portion of the menu. The restaurant is named after mozzarella, for Pete’s sake! Beyond the mozzarella… I tried the porchetta pizza, but I didn’t think it was anything special. I also ordered a small deep dish pizza, but I think the proportions are weird in the small. A lot of crust. Tasted good, but would get the larger size next time. I’d like to try some pasta next time I’m back here! I love patio seating, but I wouldn’t recommend their patio. Besides being a little bit cramped, it’s right on a pretty loud street. Sit inside and get a good view of the pasta bar instead.

I’ve yet to have a meal at Mozza Mia I haven’t enjoyed. My boyfriend brought me here on one of our date nights and had a great time! We were planning on seeing a movie across the street and as we walked in we saw a dinner and movie deal($ 40 for 2 movie tickets, a bottle of wine, any pizza and gelato).sign us up! My boyfriend had been raving about their mozzarella sampler so we added that on as well. WOW! While it’s a little pricier for an appetizer it did not disappoint. There are 4 different kinds of mozzarella cheeses paired with bread, tomatoes, and chick peas with olive oil throughout — simply put, it will change your life. The pizzas are just as amazing and you can tell they use very fresh ingredients. Since our first visit together, we’ve ordered Mozza Mia through Bite Squad(happy to say it’s just as good) and have visited again and have had great experiences.
