I have been in here a couple times for office necessities. This place rates as average because if its overall quality. The inside of this building is not the warmest Office Max I have been. In a weird way, it feel like I am in a hardware store, which is an unusual feeling to get when I am in an office store. The vibe is weird. I think it is mostly the over-abundance of empty spaces in there that makes the place so uncomfortable. I see more metal than purchase materials, which is not a good thing. There is a good variety and amount of what they sell. When I have been in here, I have had no problem with them carrying what I need. However, almost everything is cluttered. I do not know if it is the business’ fault or the customers’. Whichever one it is, the employees need to have a better eye on keeping everything neatly organized. While their materials are hard to find at times, the employees have been friendly and resourceful when I need it. The employees seem to know where everything is. Their overall customer service is superb. They are pleasant to approach. I think that if the employees put as much effort into the organization as they do the customer service, this place would be fantastic. When I am in the area and need some office materials, I will not rank this place as my first choice. I prefer the one in New Brighton because it is much better. I hope that management reads this review and takes what I say in consideration.

This place reminds me of a warehouse. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. I know that it’s not the warmest of all places to be. The materials are sometimes hard to find, and it’s not the most organized. It is however a good place to buy materials I need for anything at home. They are well-stocked of everything so I don’t have to worry about them running out of stuff. The people there are delightful and helpful.

Stopped in to purchase a new office chair. There were more than enough to choose from. Apparently there was some sort of furniture sale going on, although it wasn’t entirely clear which items were affected. The clerk was very friendly and helpful. My only real complaint here is that it is not as cleanly organized as I’d like.

This store is a joke. If you ever walk into the location? You will notice first off, there NEVER seems to be a large amount of customers in the store… and the reason for that, being because of the staff that works there! When you walk into the store, you are immediately bombarded with questions by the«Store Manager» who exhibits a fake sense of customer service and williness to help you, it is also oppressive and makes you think like you are being surveilled by the manager when you know which part of the store you are going to(Laptops and PC Peripherals) and know what you are going to purchase. Their so-called«Technical Department» is an absolutely, complete and utter joke! There is an individual there who is obviously a Geek Squad reject and doesn’t know his perverbial A$$ from a a hole in the ground! When I asked this individual about the cost and time involved in replacing a broken Motherboard on an HP Pavillion Laptop? He quoted me an 8 ½ week repair period and a $ 400 price for the Motherboard(that was JUST the price of the part) and a BS amount for«labor/time/and cost to put the item in the laptop»…I then proceeded to ask about what the price would be if I had my data from my HP Laptop«Ghosted» over to a brnad new Dell Inspirion Laptop which I would be recieving later in the day… he told me «Oh, we can’t do that». Really? Seriously? «You can’t do any of the Technical things I asked and at an affordable price»?! As I walked out of the store(On my way to a PC Repair Store in an area of Minneapolis, called«PC Doodle» which actually does do real PC/Laptop Repair work and has never EVER screwed me over in the past), I asked an employee for the number to the Corp Office… the Manager with the attitude asked me in a hostile manner«What’s the problem?»(Nothing along the lines of…“How may I help you sir? Was there something wrong, that I can help you with?”…zero professionalism!)…I asked for the Corp Number a second time… he REFUSED to give it to me and told me that I could always contact the Customer Supportline and if I had an «issue» to make the complaint with them!!! Trust me, in an era of Unilocal Twitter as well as a whole host of both professional HR/Recruiting and Non-professional…Social Media Networking Websites? It’s never a good idea to upset a customer and mistreat them and lie to them the way I have been today.

It’s close and the staff is nice/helpful most of the time. Those are the only 2 good qualities to this particular location. I really would rather not go most of the time that I need to. But the thought of ordering my office supplies online and shipping them when I live so close seems wasteful. But maybe it is wasteful that I drive my car there instead of biking — which is wasteful. I just can’t get excited about the store/neighborhood. The staff is helpful, responsive and aware that I exist. Maybe that is because they have to be aware of every person as loss prevention tactics. Which worked out well the last time I was there — they actually deterred a potential shoplifter that had ripped open a computer box and tried to take the contents. Good Job guys! I quickly walked to my car in a zig-zag fashion.

I am in love with this Office Max. INLOVE! I come here for all my printing and paper needs. I suppose it isn’t widely known but in the far right corner of the store, they have a help desk for printing, copying – everything that Kinko’s offers but CHEAPER! I have actually compared all the prices and the majority of services are significantly cheaper. The few that are the same are worth it because if you’ve ever been ignored at Kinko’s(and you have) then you know the OM customer service is leagues better. I used to work at an elementary school and we did all our printing at this Office Max. Once they took 1 extra day to print some booklets and gave us the entire job for free to make up for it. I thought it was pretty generous. Aside from that one time, they were always done on time and correctly. The people at this print desk actually know whats going on unlike the idiots I have dealt with at Kinko’s in the wee hours of the morning. Also, I took a few copies here the other day and I was standing in line to pay for them and the guy at the counter said«Only a few? They’re on me.» I almost fell over. That’s something I hear at my neighborhood bar – not at the chain office supply store. Free copies! Needless to say, I skipped out of there with a giant grin on my face. I also printed my rather complicated wedding invitations here at Office Max and they used their own paper(free of charge) to print out samples and be sure they understood the collation of the project. Kinko’s would NEVER do that – believe me I have paid for the sample copies many-a-time. In the end, they came out perfectly and I spent over $ 75 less than I would have at Kinko’s for that many color copies. They even let me camp out by the paper cutter and chop away to my heart’s content. My suggestion is that they go into direct competition with Kinko’s by opening an Office Max Copy Center type of store that is open 24 hours. As it stands now, I dont think many people are aware this cheaper and better option exists because it’s never very busy. In the meantime, I will gladly still give them my business. Sometimes I feel guilty and wish I wasn’t a loyal customer of such a commercial company. I have searched to find something locally owned with these services and so far nothing exists. I feel less guilty when they treat me so dag good that I forget it actually is a big-box national chain company. Apologies to Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute. Minus one star for overpriced office supply goods. Isn’t that your main product line?

Office Max is amazing. It is one of the first places that people should hit up for office and school supplies. There are always good deals and they have better quality items than Target in this department. They were the ones who printed my first business cards for much cheaper than Kinko’s wanted. They also supplied me with my first writing desk and almost my second one(the one I liked was too large.) I mean it with full sincerity when I say that everyone I know, and their mom, shops here. The staff is knowledgeable about the product and always there to assist. I have never heard the lame answer of, «that’s not my department.» The people working the printing stations have actually come out from behind the desk and walked me to the product. Yes, TO the product. They didn’t point in some general direction.
