Decided to get my bike a tune up since I have had the bike for almost a year and over 5000 miles on it. Since I bought the bike here the tune up was free the first time. Chris the bike mechanic was very efficient and was able to replace a cable that had rusted. So if you ever need a tune up or part replaced this is the place to get repairs and much more. The mechanics are very knowledgable and friendly. My thanks to Chris for such a great job.

Their employee parked in handicap spot for over 10 minutes to get food. Seriously. These guys should be fined. Employee should be let go. In addition, driver tailgated me the entire way into the parking lot across the street from their store.

I love to get my biking equipment and accessories from Penn Cycle. I bought my current women’s specific road bike at a Penn Cycle. I love it and still ride it 3 years later. This particular location is closer to work, so I often stop here. I also took a free class for women years ago, specifically on women’s specific bikes and parts. This was very helpful and I found the perfect saddle. They had this thing you sat on to see where your bones would rest on the seat. Then they were able to mold a perfect seat, fit for the individual.(this was a few years ago, and might have only been a feature of the company showing women’s products). The staff is very helpful and always seem to be working hard fixing a bike or two in the back. If you just looking at getting into biking, stop in here and ask the staff for some guidance. They will likely have some suggestions to assist you in getting started at reasonable prices. They do not have a large selection of jerseys or clothes here. I have never had any success finding a clothes here, but I did buy my shoes, locks, helmet and tools.

It is that time of year again when you have realized spring is in the air and you have been a dismal failure on your new year’s resolution and still 15 pounds too heavy… Wait, what? There is still snow on the ground? Hence it is a good time to beat the rush and get your bike ready for the summer and being in shape! My favorite bicycle shop is Penn Cycle in Bloomington. It is located on Old Shakopee Rd and France. No, the«Penn» has no relationship to Penn avenue… What I truly love about this place is their attention to detail on your bike, especially the annual bike checkup where they will only charge what you truly need: new brake cable, lube, gear change, etc. Hence it could be as little as $ 30 or as high as $ 75. It really depends upon what your bike needs. Trust me, as heavy as I am from eating all those wonderful donuts to ‘fatten’ up my ‘girlish’ figure for the winter, I need to be 100% sure I can stop my bike before I become a gnat on someone’s windshield. Be safe ~ get your bike check. Penn Cycle is highly recommended. Don’t have a bike? This is a great place to look for a new one as well.

Penn Cycle in Bloomington is my neighborhood bike store and I have to say I am super pleased with all the staff that has helped us. My hubby and I were in the market to move up from our 13 year old Trek Mt bikes and thought we would check out a few places before we decided once again on a Trek. As soon as we walked in we were met with a friendly gal, discussed what we were looking for and gave us a number of options to consider and gave me 4 different bikes to take out and try. the mechanics checked out all the models before I rode which was really smart. We ended up with 2 Trek hybrids and 10% off on accessories PLUS they knocked off 50.00 if you bring in a bike trade in. We had a couple collecting dust… SO all in all we were very pleased with our purchases.
