My friends and I did the bunker escape which was in my opinion quite poor. As soon as we walked into this dusty run down apartment room the timer apparently started with no indication, no timer. The manager sat in the corner on his phone the entire time. There was no preamble, no scenario set up. He basically just said ok go ahead start. We had to periodically ask him how much time was left. No clues to help us along if we were stuck. The room was so dusty, had my allergies act up. Compare this to other escape rooms like escape msp, which without ruining their puzzles was many orders of magnitude better. This was run by an amateur and it showed. Very disappointed with this experience, go do zombie escape or escape msp before you even consider this

Unpleasant experience! The guy running the show was rude, a total jackass! Spread the word, this place sucks, hashtag hashtag dumb*! I would not waste my time or money. Not what I thought it was going to be even though we completed the mission. For all you nerds out there, you would find this hole in the wall just as unfulfilled as I did. Yuck! But you be the judge b******!!!

This review is based on the current scenario: Monster. As a veteran(and conqueror) of the original Riddle Room: Bunker, I was immensely excited to try out the newest incarnation. This was a project that I personally Kickstarted, and this was the first chance that I had to check out the new room. When you walk in the door, you are greeted by a small novelty shop that has offerings of local artwork, classic comedy albums, and humor novelties. However, after your party arrives(and you sign a waiver), you are taken back to have the scenario explained. In this scenario, you are told that there is a monster on the ship, and that you need to complete tasks in order to deal with the monster within one hour. Then, the doors open. You are greeted by an amazingly detailed and well constructed ship. Seriously, take the time to look at the detail of the the different parts of the ship. You will find puns and pop culture references galore in the slightly darkened ship. I won’t go into detail, however the scenario has 6 different riddles/tasks to solve. Each of the tasks can be done with deduction, and paying attention to clues. Our group technically did not solve the scenario. However, this is why the review is getting a 4 and not a 5. The reason we were unable to finish is because at the end when our time was up, it was discovered by the operator that a major portion of the puzzle was missing, making that last puzzle impossible to solve. This could easily be avoided in the future by having a checklist or a quick run through prior to the puzzle opening. Overall, I had a great experience in the Riddle Room. The new scenario and location helped to answer one of my critiques of the last Riddle Room(the lack of narrative or story). I’m also very excited that multiple scenarios can be run in the same space, allowing fans the chance to come back multiple times and not have a repeat experience. Had the full compliment of puzzle pieces been there, this review would have easily been 5 stars. So, if you’re looking for a way to kill an hour, enjoy Sci Fi, and like a mental challenge, take a look at the Riddle Room.

Pros: Room construction: The room took on a challenging theme and executed flawlessly. I’ve been to a total of 8 escape rooms and this is by far one of my top 2 rooms in terms of construction. At all times I felt like I was apart of the original«Alien» movie! And to top it off, the interaction with the ship and the mission progress was«stellar». Great experience! Clues/Puzzles: All puzzles were well thought out and stuck to the theme! Cons: Not really any, but if I had to nitpick Unused space: The ship is SOCOOL. and my nerd self just wanted a little more interaction from some of the less used spaces on the ship. Operator: Since the computer progress audio is so neat, consider utilizing that to eliminate the in room operator which we felt slightly detracted our engagement. Overall: Let the adrenaline pump and enjoy 60 minutes of entertainment! 5 stars!

This review is based on the current incarnation as «Starship: Monster»(No spoilers) We had booked a group of 12 of us on Saturday night, but at the last minute, two people in our group couldn’t show up, so we went in with 10. The waiting room let us relax for a bit as we waited for our time to go in. There’s a bathroom available(and you can use it during the 1 hour, but you’ll want to go beforehand.) Make sure to bring paper and pen/cil to help take notes. Our guide was friendly, she chatted with us while we waited and then stayed in the room for the hour to help us if we needed clues/hints/etc. The story is for Starship: Monster, you’re the crew in a malfunctioning spaceship and there’s a monster on board coming to get you if you don’t solve the puzzles and kill him before he gets to you.(No, don’t worry, no monster jumps out at you.) We were able to solve 5 of the 6 puzzles which were all at the right level of challenging. The 6th one we were right on the cusp of solving however. The set is wonderful and there are red herrings everywhere. So try not to get fixated on any props too long. After the time was up, our guide answered all of our questions about the room. The worst part of the Riddle Room is the fact that we have to wait until they have a new riddle!

Haven’t done the Riddle room at this location yet(Booked for September will try and update this review then) but I did the Bunker at their old location. Fun, difficult and interesting. I described it to a friend of mine as interactive theater with no actors. The way they weave narrative into the riddles, brings the whole room together in a truly interesting and fun experience. I can’t wait to try the space ship. As far as interactions with the staff went, it was fantastic, we had to reschedule last time and the staff was very accommodating. On the day of the event they were friendly, funny and helpful. The Riddles were hard, our group made it through but we had some very smart people with us and we barely made it through. Be ready to think on your feet. Also fill out your group with a wide variety of nerds: math, literature and otherwise. We found everyone in our group played some vital role, but there was one or two puzzles where someone who was not intimidated by numbers was helpful.

I was really looking forward to this experience. My twin sister bought us tickets to go for our birthday with some family members. We got there at 7:50PM for our 8PM appointment. Because of technical difficulties we were not allowed to enter the riddle room until almost 8:45PM. There were five riddles, and they were purposely misleading in a way that made them unsolvable. For instance, one set of directions was written by a «drunk» so they just didn’t make sense(I guess to make it more challenging?). That particular riddle read like someone wrote it with a bottle of whiskey and a thesaurus close at hand. We were never able to solve that riddle(we did solve the other four, with hints from the hostess.), and when the scenario was over and we asked the hostess to show us how to solve it, she was unable to. Even with the answer key she had stored on her smartphone! I will say that the set looks pretty good, but the«riddles» definitely need some work. Out entire group was very disappointed. I don’t think any of us would ever go back. I would also like to add that we were told the designer’s name was«Art». Notice two of the reviews with five stars were written by an «Art»? Hmmmm… I don’t think the five star reviews are legit.

My friends and I went here for a birthday party and it was awesome. I’m not sure if it’s changed since some of the previous reviews were written, but we were given a sheet that listed the puzzles we’d have to solve to complete the scenario, and while the puzzles were difficult we were able to solve them all within the hour. Most of the puzzles gave an auditory confirmation when solved, so we’d usually know when one was done and we could stop chasing that lead. I would do another scenario in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for something a little different, and you like puzzles, I highly recommend this.
