I ate here on Halloween and the food was authentic and good. It also didn’t take very long from when we ordered to when we got the food. Our server didn’t speak much English but that obviously didn’t hinder her from being able to take our order. My boyfriends dish was definitely the best of the bunch, it had an egg and steak a whole fried plantain beans and homemade bacon. Definitely good for a hangover breakfast. The only thing I would say was that I was expecting a little more flavor from the rice that accompanied my food but it was still tasty especially when the salsa was added.

We ended up here because Chimborazo’s parking was full, and we didn’t want to wait 40 minutes for a table again. If Chimborazo is like visiting the sunny home of friends, Sabor Latino is where your friends might go when they are tired of cooking. I had a fish stew, and my husband had a chicken dish with plantain, rice, and salad. The stew was delicious, and the chicken dish was very tender. The food wasn’t fancy, but filling and flavorful. We also ordered shakes. My husband had coconut and I had mango. They weren’t the best we’ve ever had, but they were pretty good. The menu had a lot of unfamiliar items, and I’d love to try them sometime. I got a kick out of the fact that we were the only people there who didn’t speak Spanish. I had a little difficulty understanding the server’s English, but she understood mine. Admittedly, the service was perfunctory if not particularly warm, but it seemed to me that the customers weren’t particularly polite to the server either(my rudimentary high school Spanish didn’t afford more insight than this). This place is a bit of a dive, and feels like the Ecuadorian equivalent of a greasy spoon. The television sports program was in English, strangely, but they eventually switched to Univision. I would give this place 3.5 stars if possible. The food and the lack of a wait merits at least half a star over 3 stars.

I’d give them a zero if I could. BTW, this is a restaurant, not a grocery. And this restaurant sucks. If you like chicken soup that includes chicken skin with feathers and the butt hole, you’ll love this place. I am NOT kidding! My wife(who’s from South America and loves soup) almost puked. The other food wasn’t much better. The service was just as bad as the feathers and the butt hole. The servers mulled around like lost cattle and glared at us, making us feel like we weren’t welcome. The server that finally came to help us was SUPER slow. She almost seemed passive aggressive. What is wrong with these people? Why are they still in business? The frosting on the cake was when they asked my young daughter(not in a friendly way) why she doesn’t speak Spanish and didn’t order in Spanish. How about this: because we live in the USA and we’re not required to speak Spanish… or spend money in your restaurant! My wife and I were super offended. And my daughter was confused by the comments. I hope no one pays them another cent and that Holy Land busts out a wall and takes over their square footage. –Daddy Maxx Retro

No reviews on here yet I’m supposing because most of the people who frequent this establishment are primarily fob. Authenticity makes itself apparent, from the fob clientele to the food, making the trips here worth it every time. I have a craving all of a sudden for empanadas, salchichas y platanos… dios mio.
