I noticed this place a few months ago, so I had to finally stop by. The set up and displays here are adorable. There were plenty of on-of-a-kind items, but they also had some local finds. There was a display of foaming hand soaps and a lot of lettered signs. In the back corner are tons of cut up license plate letters/numbers. I found myself spending most of my timing browsing in the kitchen section. The prices seemed a bit high, but I am always willing to buy local and support women owned businesses.

I was on the last stretch of a not-so-productive day shopping on my usual ‘treasure hunting’ route when I randomly drove by SCOUT. I feast for my tired eyes, indeed. I walked in and Carrie and Sydney greeted me with smiles and showed me around. Turns out it’s an old dry-cleaning space that’s been gutted and repurposed. The main space is retail but SCOUT offers craft classes and holds a outdoor market series on the second Saturday of every month(May-Oct.), too. The entire concept is awesome. It’s upcycling, it’s creating, and it’s fresh all at the same time. It’s a place for creative people to gather — a gem that every community should have. I added it to my regular route.

I had an AMAZING time this weekend crafting at SCOUT. I have never done anything like this before and I would recommend it to anyone who likes crafting or DIYing. SCOUT is an adorable antique/vintage shop and they have a great workshop in the back of the store. A group of six of my friends and I reserved the workshop on Sunday afternoon. We had free reign of the workshop for at least 4 hours along with 3 employees who were there to help us out. The workshop is a DIYers dream. They have every craft supply you could imagine, including amazing reclaimed barn wood. They have plenty of ideas for you, or if you are a Pinterest lover like me, they help you transform your DIY pins into reality! Not only did I have an amazing afternoon with my friends, but I came home with the most adorable piece of handmade art for my son’s room! We had to pay a flat fee per person to use the workshop, but after you pay once, you can come back and use the workshop any time free of charge! Most of the other supplies are included or a nominal charge.
