Target Center

My wife and I went to the Andrea Bocelli concert tonight. We had $ 300 seats. The concert was world class. Acoustics were very good. Target Center itself is just is not up to hosting music events at all ever. It took us 40 minutes to get from the front door to our seats due to inadequate and unnecessary metal detector testing. The huge foyer was a cattle crush. They should screen people as they pass through the outside doors and then let them find their seats and not just be a human sea in the foyer. It took 20 minutes to buy a beer at intermission. The line for the womens bathroom passed through the line for beer. They should have hired an architect when they built this place. We have been here for Coldplay and Paul McCartney and had similar problems and poor sound quality too. I am not coming back for a music event.

Security into center is awful. Concert delayed 20 minutes.
Acoustics are better but still not as good as other venues in the Twin Cities.
We need a Hollywood Bowl for summer concerts.

«We can go to a Lynx game!» my friend enthusiastically told me when we were discussing what we had time for and what we had to eliminate on our trip to Minnesota. Insert eye roll here.
I have little to no interest in basketball as it is. Needless to say when she kept bringing up going to a WNBA game, I would quickly try to change the subject. Even when she offered to buy our tickets, I still wasn’t all that thrilled. But some of our choices were about compromise, so I finally decided to say okay.
Cut to our awesome seats, a great crowd and an amazing team (apparently the Minnesota Lynx dominate the WNBA, again I was clueless) that really embraces its fans. We ended up having one of the best times of our 10 day trip here at the Target Center.
How much you enjoy and how highly you rate the Target Center will obviously have something to do with the event itself and the crowd around you. I can without a doubt say you won’t be disappointed at a Lynx game.

Nice location for concerts and we were stoked to see the Who here for their 50 Year Tour. Compared to other arenas, Target Center has numerous options for inexpensive event parking within walking distance. The arena itself is clean and professionally maintained. Great acoustics as well.

Absolutely TERRIBLE «customer service» in all departments! Lax security. Steer clear if you’re smart! No concert or show is worth the headache at the Target Center!

We had a great time watching the timberwolves here. After the game you can go down to shake the players hands as they head back to the locker room (you def. would not be able to do this at a Lakers game). Lots of fun activities and games to play as you are walking around the halls of the center. We won poster and some other stuff. This was a great experience and a very welcoming place to be. The half time entertainment was also cultural

I came to the target center to watch the Timberwolves game in a executive suite and the view was amazing!
If you have the opportunity to work with the team that sets those up, I would highly recommend it even just for the free food and drinks that are offered in your suite while you watch the game.

I have been to several concerts here since I was young. It is still a great place to enjoy a good show, most from those who are either legends or big-​named.
This place has a good variety of performers who book a show or two here. Concerts I have seen here include Janet Jackson, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Cher, Aerosmith, just to name a few. This place seldom fails to put on great shows. I have had a blast every time I have come here.
Before the show, the employees clearly do a fantastic job at cleaning and organizing everything. I understand that there are always a lot of people there and that some can get a little wild. Therefore, the place can get a little messy after the show. The employees do a great job at cleaning up as much as they can before the show is over. Therefore, I have always felt comfortable coming to this arena.
The ticket and food employees are always friendly. They are also helpful at helping me find my seat when I need help. They are also great at keeping the line moving along quickly. That way, I do not have to wait terribly long in line when lines are long. I do not order food or drinks often, but when I do, the food is served to me fresh, and they taste delicious.
The only drawback about this arena is that in the last few years, the acoustics have dropped down in quality. This has affected the sound quality of the concerts. I know it is not the artists’ fault. I would be more apt to give this place a five stars once they fix the acoustics problem.
As long as this place puts on good concerts, I will continue coming here. I look forward to seeing more fun concerts in the future.

Had a great time @ the Kevin Hart concert on May 15^th. The show was great but the seats are so close together I could barely laugh (literally). I didnt spend any money because of the fact that a 12 oz soda was $ 5. Overall this was my first experience @ a venue like this and I did enjoy myself.

This was my third visit to the Target center & all for concerts. Starting with the good: Staff has always been friendly, location is close to decent bars for before cocktails and plenty of parking in lot or in neighboring lots.
Okay…the bad. Again, only seen concerts here. The acoustics are really bad! The walk up /​down to certain seats (90.00 got us nose bleeds at Stevie Wonder) are scary. I imagine going down these stairs when buzzed, is what rock climbing without a harness feels like. The floors are so sticky the last 2 shows, we couldn’t dance. Now, that may be Devine intervention for the other show goers, but still. We really did need to struggle to dance, in the end keeping our feet planted & moving upper bodies only (kind like toy army men). The cheapest beers are $ 8.50. Depending on your seats, getting there is like being on the Jetsons. Escalator… after escalator… after escalator. Last, but not least… the seats. Ok, on the comfort side. Always, left the shows before the lights went on… not last week. Our whole row got up & gasped! The seats looked like a crime scene! Tons of mystery splattered spots (God, let it be just blood) on the seats. Yep, last show I paid $ 130.00(tix, parking) to watch a tv screen of my fav performer, while fearing for my life getting to the Petri dish, they called a seat.
Again, staff was really nice and mini donuts hit the spot.

First time I visited the stadium having been been to many stadiums was very much looking forward to this one as well was rather disappointed in the age in the wear of this facility. Definitely shows it’s age and city in need of a new facility the seating was all very worn and the fabric was somewhat stained and torn. From the area I sat I had an incredible view still the age of the facility was disappointing it was tired looking and interior worn. Time for major renovations or rebuild new state of the art facility.

This cozy arena simply has the best branding. If you come here, as I do, to be immersed in advertisements, slogans, sponsors and giveaways, you will not be disappointed.
The soundtrack is also a major bonus. I’ve always hated listening to songs in their entirety. Thankfully, Target Center has an artfully curated playlist of 8 second samples played frenetically through an overpowering sound system. Add a jumbotron, animated billboards, the smell of fried food and beer and you have the sort of truly immersive sensory barrage I just can’t seem to get enough of!
But I can only give this place 3 stars because of one annoying thing that happens here a lot. It’s called basketball. For some reason, they keep turning off the music and the lights and the announcers so that a bunch of athletes can display their skill and prowess. It’s pretty obnoxious IMO. I guess if you’re into that sort of talent and mastery that all of these remarkable people havespent a lifetime of hard work and devotion to cultivate, it could be okay. But I’m just kinda like ick. Pro tip: just walk around the halls the whole time, you never have to watch any of the game at all!

I like this location. I go there for my favorite acts and usually don’t pay attention to much else. Parking can be pricey if there are a few events going on that night.

Good hotel in a great location. It’s «A-​OK.»
Check in/​out is fast. I never wait much. Employees are professional. My room is always clean. Room service works pretty well and the food is very good. The furnishings in the room are modern and nice looking.
It’s also pretty pricey, so while I get what I pay for, I can’t really justify four stars, because they have not really exceeded my expectations. Harsh, perhaps, but true.
Bonus: The Elite Club on the 30^th floor is pretty good. It’s well stocked and the servers are good.

Target Center is pretty sweet. They have Premium Grain Belt on tap. You can pretty much walk around this place acting like you own it until someone stops you and asks what you are doing. All you need is the secret password.
They have a pretty sweet deal right now with the Timberwolves where you can buy cheap seat tickets, and then get upgraded by the T-​Wolves Army to the lower level. All you have to do is stand the whole game and cheer. Took me back to high school football games. Woodbury High School Footbal Rules.

The Target center is a decent venue to see a concert, but a great place to watch a basketball game. I go at least 10 times every year and it is such a convenient location. During the basketball season there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. The cheap seats are worth it, but every now and it’s worth it to spend the money and sit close to the floor. Often you can find package deals for a seat, food and a hat or something. As for concerts, I always try to get floor or seats in the 100s. It’s no fun to crank your neck an entire show because your sitting to far out. The food is typical with hot dogs, nachos, pretzels and chips. They do sell alcohol, but they will take your top if they give you a bottle.
The best part of the Target Center is the parking ramp has multiple indoor walkways connected to the venue. The worst part about here is the women’s bathrooms. Try to hold it for 2 hours if you can, otherwise you will wait in line for about that long! And the ticket fees are unbelievable.

I haven’t been to the Target Center in years. I remember when the Target Center was built! It was so nice back then! It still is a good venue but like others have stated, it needs a good overhaul. Tonight, two rows in front of us, one of the chairs came off the base and the girl was wobbling around on the seat! They told an usher but he chose to ignore her…
The seats are pretty dirty, old, and tight. Not tight as in size of the seat but tight as in leg room. I am only 5“4 so I can not imagine being a tall person in these seats!
As soon as we came through the door, I felt welcomed! They had greeters who directed you to Will Call or ticket sales and also got you hyped up for the game with their positive, high energy, spirits!
Before we sat down, we encountered close to five employees, all of whom were so courteous and helpful. What makes them a step above the norm is that I never had to ask them for help! They noticed us and more than likely, my lost look on my face. They came to us, asking if we needed anything.
It was a close to perfect experience and I can not wait to come back and watch something else! Maybe a Lynx game next time!

I have been here for several events –most recently the Garth concert. It’s a big ass event center so what can be said about that really other than the bathrooms were clean – we entered without much drama and the staff that were available were efficient and friendly — they had a nice amount of food and drink choices. I did not think the shock top beer offering was too shabby with price compared to some choices. For the amount of people and drinking that were going on i never felt like the crowd was out of control and it was good entertainment!

So this review is going to be biased since I was just there for one of my fave bands’ concert tonight. It’s somewhat of a challenge to rate a concert hall since it’s the quality show that should matter more than the setting of a place, but I am willing to say that I was satisfied with the quality of the sound system they have. Thanks to the stupid promo on Groupon, I bought a deal for the section that’s supposed to be closer to the stage but somehow ended up wayyyy the hell in the nosebleed section. So much for that 10 extra bucks… At any rate, I guess it somewhat worked out fine since the seating at that altitude offers a pretty good view of the mingling crowd in the arena itself. Since the opening acts (much props to Kid Koala!) had some good crowd mixing activities (dance competitions), I was glad to not be part of the unlucky few who gets pulled into the whole commotion. It’s much more fun to watch from where I was at though!
One of the things that the stadium could improve on is to put up more projector screens around the stage. Since most people looked like ants from my section, having a monitor to display their faces (especially of the band) would really help in upping the entertainment bit of the experience.
This is totally irrelevant with the review of the place, but I can’t help it… ARCADE FIRE!!!

Came for a Friday-​night Wolves vs. Mavs game while I was in town, and it was a great time.
It’s relatively clean in this stadium, and there is ample seating. Food and drink prices are par for the course, but the shining gem is the donuts. Oh sweet baby Jesus, those hot and fresh sugar donuts are heaven on Earth. For only $ 5, you can get a bag of sugared fried dough bites that everyone will be fighting over. Mmm mmm good.
The announcers are pretty good and get the crowd amped up, and the dance/​fan team is energetic as well. Good experience.
