Do you need a gag gift? A perfect card? Something unusual for that hard to buy for person? Perhaps you are just out for the day with some friends and want to spend 20 – 40 dollars on something you think is cute – you should check this store out. You can spend a lot of time in here just looking at all the funky stuff. They even have the horse head masks i have been seeing here and there. I was able to find a cute elephant tea pot and creamer here and the staff even went in the back and found me the original box to put it in as it was a gift item. I would shop here more frequently if it were not located in the middle of the mad house we call the Mall of America.

One of our favorite shops to browse fun and gifty things. Their old location was much larger and had more personality.

My favorite store in MOA hands down. They have practically everything from the weird to the funky that should suit your boredom and/or why you got suckered into going to the mall with your significant other and/or screaming children. Yes, Spencer has all these things too, but… I would NEVER take my 7 year old in there. Basically it is a Spencer for grownups without the cheese and is somewhat of a good sense of humor Brookstone without the crazy prices. My favorite section here is the kitchen section — truly love this place. If they serve food and beer here, I never would leave.

Great shop for unique gifts and cards. I was trying to find a small gift or card for my girlfriend while working in Minneapolis and I was glad to find The Afternoon amid all the chain stores. They had a nice assortment of Paper Source-esque letter press cards so I picked her up a cool card and she was happy. The staff was friendly as well. Thanks, The Afternoon.

The Afternoon is by far my favorite place to browse in the Mall of America. The selection is eclectic, ranging from funky to fascinating to just frickin’ funny. You can find greeting cards, coffee table books, kitchen gadgets, wall art, interesting clocks, unique board games, jewelry, and the list goes on. And one of my favorite things is that the inventory is constantly changing; no two visits to The Afternoon will be the same. I’ve got a wine rack from there; a Bartender’s Bible; a piece of StoryPeople wall art; a doormat that says«Hi, I’m Mat»; and more gadgets, gizmos, and bric-à-brac than I can think of right now. Today I picked up a French rolling pin, the kind Alton Brown uses on his show. If you find yourself at the mall, overwhelmed by flashing logos and mindless crowds, head to the second floor, south side, almost in the southeast corner. Step into The Afternoon, and exhale for a second. You’ll be all right.

My absolute favorite store in the Mall of America, I could spend hours in this store alone. I will brave the crazy crowds out in the mall specifically to go to the store because it’s worth it. I can always find all kinds of unique gifts for anyone on my list here and always end up having to buy at least one thing for myself too. They have all kinds of neat kitchen utensils, jewelry, coffee table books and incredible office and home décor. Plus they have a large variety of greeting cards. If you’re looking to guarantee that no one else will be giving the same gift as you at a party, this is the place to get it.

A great place to get funky/cool/groovy gifts for the hip kid in your crowd. They have lots of stuff for a housewarming, new baby, wedding etc. If you are looking for a chick gift– look no further!

The most eclectic, artistic, original store in the entire Mall of America. We always stop here to admire their diverse collection of unusual greeting cards, books, and artworks. Over the years, we’ve bought a carved wooden bowl which sits as the centerpiece on our dining room table, as well as flower and leaf-shaped cast pewter lightswitch plates from artist Leandra Drumm. There’s paintings, stools, semi-precious stone jewelry and more. This store defies description in terms of the variety it offers. Even if you leave without buying anything, you come out of there very impressed.
