Another great remake of what could or should be an historic building in N.E. Mpls. Great architecture of brick and woodwork. Inside are still some creaky stairways and bare brick walls,(adds character) I think. Mostly artists workshop and studios with Mojo Café downstairs. There is a tiny free library I think on the second floor where you can feel free to browse and pick up a book and please drop some off. Plenty of parking in their own lot and around the streets.

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Minnetonka, MN
Happy Art-A-Whirl weekend! I officially feel like a Minneapolis resident now that I have experienced my first Art-A-Whirl, and the California Building Company was a wonderful way to enter into the amazing art dimensions of NE Minneapolis. The building is stock full of innovative artists(everything from braille coffee cups, to beer can earrings, to short films, to amazing photography, to…) and there seems to be another studio around every corner(including the bathrooms!). I would definitely give this place five stars for the art(except I was totally disturbed by the photo series of a dog with a pair of pantyhose over its face…), but the hesitation with this is the lack of handicapped accessibility in the building. I know my mother would love this place, but would have a hard time getting around the studios. But, with that, I really enjoyed watching the sun go down through the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Minneapolis skyline as I feasted on beautiful art.
