Nicole Crust and Jennifer Gullickson now have their own respective spots at Sola Salons in Uptown.

Gina Wicks’ talent is immeasurable. This girl will take your fried locks and somehow make them look good. Most of the time I see Gina, I give her a general photo of the cut and color I’m looking for, then tell her to put her own spin on it to customize it for me. She never fails to impress me, and apparently never fails to impress everyone else after they see me! «Who does your hair?!» is a question I hear frequently, all thanks to Gina.

Gina is amazingly talented! She really listened to what I wanted and made my hair look even better that I imagined! The happiest I have ever been with my hair! The salon is quirky and welcoming. Easy location to get to and lots of street parking.

I had an appointment with Nicole Crust today (I waited too long to book one with Jennifer) and she did fabulous work. She used this tingly peppermint conditioner that left my hair and scalp so fresh and so clean. And the final serum she used smells delicious! She added some soft curls to my usually slick style and I appreciate the change. I am so happy that I have found TWO stylists at Hair E Tic who make my hair happy, shiny, and lovely in a totally not mushroom way. Super pleased!

Best hair salon EVER! Talented hair artists, skin care specialists, eyelash/​eyebrows… All done to perfection! Jennifer «Gully» specializes in bringing hair to its healthiest state. Hands down the best hair dresser I’ve ever had. From color to cut, extensions and keratin complex treatments she knows hair. She’s simply addictive. Book early she fills up. She runs a tight ship… Don’t be late to your appointment!

I love this salon as you have a private area with your stylist. Gina Wicks is awesome at cut and color! I had gone to Gina about 4 years ago, before moving out of the US. I was never able to find another stylist that knew my hair as well as she did! Now that I live in the US again, I’m very happy to be back to my favorite stylist. I always receive compliments on my hair after I visit Gina!

What a great salon! Terrific that Gina is happily working here now. Place has such a cozy, vibrant atmosphere w/​each stylist allowed space for expressing themselves — like personal rooms in a warm welcoming home.

I love Cally and I love the Hair-​e-​tic. Very friendly and inviting. I like the laid back atmosphere. If you need to get your hair did. You need to get to the Hair-​e-​tic.
While I have never used any other stylist at the Hair-​e-​tic, I will say they all seem to evoke a similarly passionate following, and I cannot imagine any of them would be anything other than amazing!
I also like that the salon is easy to get to and there is ample street parking in the neighborhood. This is especially nice, when like me, you are always running late, and do not have time to deal with a whole parking situation.

I really don’t care for the salon itself as even the receptionist gave us looks as if to imply «are you sure you have the right shop»…ANYWHOO without further adieu I will now sing the praises of Jennifer. WHo? Only the world’s greatest hairdresser. Is there anything this superwoman can’t do? She magically transformed my matted and nearly entirely dreadlocked hair into a shiny vibrant work of art. I was given some sort of replenishing treatment to soothe the strands and restore moisture after which she proceeded to cut and snip like a mad beast. After the dust and flying hair settled, I couldn’t recognize my own reflection. I am not a slave to beauty so my hair regimen is a condition cleanse and go, which slowly dries into a curly afro. Don’t get me wrong I love my hair, I just don’t love the tedious haircare rituals. But who cares as long as I have Jennifer, (GOD’s gift to my hair) all is well with Sandy’s world…

Based on a recommendation from my manicurist, who is across the street from the Hairetic, I decided to try a new salon. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the two places I’ve previously been– the first was consistently good, but I never really got complements on my hair, the second was just too far out of my way. So, I thought, why not try something new. And, I couldn’t have been more right to try this place.
Whoever designed the look of the place, please be my friend. It has such a welcoming, personal feel to the place. Very unique and un-​salon feeling. The stylist that I had, Alan, was a gem. My manicurist told me that he certainly wasn’t going to chat it up with me, but that I shouldn’t take it personally, that is just gets in a cutting mode and isn’t super chatty. Seriously, fine by me. I feel like the inner me is just saying shut the hell up already sometimes when I get my hair cut. I have gotten a ton of compliments about my hair and am happy about the switch. He did a completely new look based on my «do whatever you want to» approach in going for my first visit. My manicurist has a good cut, so I figured I’d be safe.
I’m not sure if Alan has a dog or not, but he should get one. My dog would love his scalp massages just as much as I do. Best I’ve ever had.
Best thing to do is to get your hair done here, nails and toes across the street at the Polished Nail Boutique and massage & waxing just a few blocks away at Holistic Kneads (see my reviews for each of these places). That is my beauty triangle.
My cut was about $ 50.
