A bit of housekeeping before I move on to my review: I’m a big fan of Turn Style overall. I have shopped most of their Twin Cities locations. I’ve consigned at a few, but not this one. This particular location of Turn Style Consignment is pretty sad. It it has a musty thrift store vibe. In fact, it feels like the store that Turn Style corporate HQ forgot about completely. It’s like going back in time 10 or 20 years — and not in a hip way. The fitting rooms are comprised of curtains on three sides hung on PVC pipes, the lighting is icky, everything looks dingy, and merchandise looks below normal standards. Maybe their staff has bad taste when accepting consignment items. Or maybe the good stuff gets snatched up so fast and the rest just sits there collecting dust. I don’t know, but as I said, it’s sad.

The boyfriend and I recently cleaned out our closets, and were about to take everything to the thrift store, when I remembered that Turn Style is a thing! Most of our clothes were of a good brand name — department store stuff like Croft & Barrow, Van Heusen, Dockers, etc… and all in really good condition! Just the kind of stuff that Turn Style takes. We figured the worst case scenario is that they wouldn’t want any of it, and the best case scenario is that we’d get a check for a few bucks when they are done selling it. We stopped by to do our consignment thing, and browsed the store a bit. Lots of stuff was on 50% clearance, so I walked out with three skirts and a shirt for less than $ 20! They took about half of the stuff we brought, which will mean a bit of walking around money in three months. We’ve got a date night on the books to go collect our commission, and eat a burrito. Because we’re awesome. And so is Turn Style.
