I was here when first opened and it was a bit sketchy. Getting paid was a pain. After losing 60 pounds this past year i had a wardrobe of 2X that was too good to donate. I decided to give this place another try as I live just a few blocks away. I am grateful that I did. The staff is always so friendly. I have dropped off three different groups of clothes. Just takes a few minutes to decide what will sell in the store. The rest I take up the street to the new Goodwill store. I stopped in today to see when the first group was finished. You have 90 days to sell and then it goes back to owner or they donate to the Goodwill for you. I was surprisied I had made $ 31.50 and had many more items to sell. I was even more suprised when she asked if I wanted a check now for items that sold or to wait till the end date. I asked for the check. In less than a minute I had a check in my hand. Attached to the check is a listing of the items that sold. The price it sold for and amount paid to me. I am not sure what other places are like, but this is a well run local business.

I have not attempted to sell anything at this store, but buy. They have great prices on clothing, and definitely in better shape than some that you find at a Goodwill. I was impressed that I was able to get a name brand suit on clearance for $ 22.50. I did see that they had a $ 15 rack, which you cannot find at even some of the secondhand boutiques in the neighborhood.

Upscale? Not so much. Maybe when the townhomes behind the building get rented out. The selection is small and extremely dated with a lot of discount store brand. The most upscale clothing items I saw for women were Banana Republic and LOFT. Granted there were a couple pairs of Gucci shoes($ 48), but they were well worn, if lovingly cared for by their owner. Prices are bargain if you can actually find anything to buy. I saw a 100% wool Banana Republic suit for $ 44. I liked the jacket, but the skirt was too matronly so had to pass(suit was from 2005 season). In the«New Arrivals» section, I saw a Banana Republic 2007 Holiday collection jacket for $ 20, but I didn’t need a fuzzy wool overcoat going into summer. and a JCrew skirt for $ 25 or so that’s been hawked on ebay for no less than $ 35. They also consign furniture and decorative items, but the section(or should I say corner) is so small as to be invisible to shoppers, looking more like store décor than items for sell. The ambiance of the store is very Ragstock-ish without the fun factor, or frankly, stock. Definitely a store I will pass on future consignment shopping trips and did not make me want to check out their other branches(even though I’d think the Woodbury one would have much more to offer). Oops, almost forgot. Saw a shirt for $ 18 that had an obvious hole on the collar. I guess the store will take anything? There is a sign at the window that fairly begs for designer duds.
