We sat there ten minutes and servers walked past multiple times without even acknowledging us or bringing over waters. We left after ten minutes and went somewhere else.

Did not feel welcome or wanted. Made a reservation for the patio. Called us the night of our reservation to tell us it would no longer be on the patio, which is understandable. However, when part of our party showed up, they would not seat us until every member of the reservation was there. Some of us wanted to have a drink before the rest of the party got here. Then they were going to squeeze us into a booth… umm booths do not seat 9 people. We left and went to Bar Louie. At least the staff at Bar Louie cares about their customers experience. Probably won’t be trying Uptown Tavern again.

I really want to give this place 3 stars, really I do. But, it’s SO inconsistent I just can’t do it. I’ve been here many times, but only eaten a handful of them. I will say their rooftop is great and I enjoy the ample seating and heat lamps(when they’re needed). First of all, their drinks are pretty expensive as far as getting rail liquor. Just be aware before you order. They do have a great beer selection, and I’ve had a really delicious Mojito from the rooftop bar. The food is just not very good… on my most recent visit, I ordered the Nachos Grande with chicken. The chicken was downright gross. Like probably at least 3 days old, dry and tasted nasty/bland. The chips and rest of nachos were okay, but the toppings are sooo skimpy. Cmon, just dump on the corn, black beans, tomatoes… these are relatively inexpensive ingredients and it would improve the dish immensely. I’ve also had their steak special(which disappoints when they don’t cook it like you’ve asked), and buffalo chicken wrap(meh). I will say that their Bloody Mary bar is pretty extensive and I have had great BYO-Bloodys at the Tav. To summarize: Be more consistent and give just a little more effort in the food department.

So weird. Bouncer was really creepy and awkward. Without explanation he was asking me to lift my shirt to see my waist explaining that this glorified Applebee’s had a strict dress code while being a total dick. We just wanted to grab a quick drink early in the evening and left feeling super creeped out and mad. 0⁄5 if it was possible. Check this place out if you wanna interact with a bouncer on a power trip and experience the most mediocre establishment in the area.

Great location, acceptable food, friendly servers(if you get one), but the person predicting the waitstaff schedules should be fired. We purchased 1 beer, and an appetizer. We meant to get 2 meals, and 2 more beers, but it took(literally) and hour and a half for what we got. I usually say«probably» won’t be back, but with the area competition, I mean we «for sure» won’t be here again.

The rooftop is wonderful and worth recommending on a warm day. The service and food are pretty good too. They do have some drink specials that can be ridiculously dangerous in how much alcohol you can get for so cheap, so make sure you bring a DD and drink responsibly.

(disclaimer: This review is for drinks only, I didn’t order anything to eat.) I popped into Uptown Tavern for drinks and was thrilled to see that they had Left Hand Brewing’s Milk Stout Nitro on tap — so much better than out of the bottle! This bar is huge, and I didn’t even manage to venture upstairs. The space is very country but not at all hick, if that makes any sense. Imagine: Taylor Swift country, not Big & Rich country. Our waiter, Sam, was fantastic and despite running a large number of tables, he was quick with our orders and checks.

ALLYOUCANEATALASKANKINGCRABLEGS. Need I say more??? Unfortunately, there IS much more to say. This was the 2nd time I came here for all you can eat king crab for their Wednesday daily special. The first time was back in 8⁄2015 and at that time, it was only $ 27.99. I thought that was a dang steal so I wanted to come back eventually. Let me tell you how my first experience was though. The king crabs were BOMB!!! Like, so bomb you didn’t want to tell anyone about this place so you could have it all to yourself forever and everness. The crab legs were super easy to break into, meaty, juicy, soft, great quality and just overall oh my gawwwwww GOOD! I overstuffed myself just because they were that good and who could beat that price? Also, they serve you the crab legs instead of buffet style where you go grab it yourself. I prefer this method so people dont wast crab legs for being stingy and grabbing more than they know they can even eat. Anywho, fast forward to my most recent trip for king crab(3÷16÷16). WHATHAPPENED??? I feel like I got jipped! The price is now marked as market price(it came to be $ 32.99) but the boyfriend and I decided to go anyways since I was craving. The quality seems to have gone down big time. Its like they made a lot of money on king crab days and now are half assing it. I didn’t care that I had to use the crab cracker to get to the meat but the meat was dry, some parts were too rubbery so I threw the rubbery parts out, bland, and overall bad. Best thing about this meal were the tater tots. They have some really good tots so thats why they get 2 stars and 1 star for service. Service was actually good but I didn’t feel like giving them 4 stars, sorry. I don’t think I would go back a 3rd time especially if their prices keep rising. People liked them because they were cheap and really good. Now they’re just overpriced and rubbery. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I stopped thinking that after the 3rd refill of crab legs and it was still consistent with dryness, rubber texture, and bland. Hope you guys bring your game up again!

Didn’t really like this place to begin with we would go here for crab Wednesday’s once and a while and it was a good deal minus the owners kids running around our table one time. Went today and told crab was done for the night at 715 when it starts at 5 and is done at 9 normally. I even checked earlier in the day cause my fiancé took the night off serving so we could eat there as our one date night a week. Host at the stand said their mobile website was not updated but the regular browser one was. Really disappointed.

Stay as far away as possible from this place. They’re rude crooks. I don’t care if they have cheap drinks — with this place you clearly get what you pay for and it is NOT worth it. I already didn’t like this place due to the crowd, because hey, they just aren’t my kind of people but this is not why I’m writing the review. My issue is with their management and their staff. They’ve always been snarky here and I’ve never been a fan but it’s usually doable. Again, you get what you pay for. Well despite my reservations I was dragged in here with a friend recently and decided to get myself a drink to endure the place. I got one drink for $ 3. $ 3.30 with tax. I actually had cash that night and decided to pay with it(yay — right?). I left him $ 4.30 — an extra buck for the tip. The waiter was like nope. We don’t take change.(what?) Absolutely no change. I was never once rude to him but did ask him to explain why because I had literally never heard of this happening before. It was just really bizarre for a place as big as this to refuse change. It still doesn’t make sense. How can such a large establishment refuse money — regardless of what kind? Just seemed weird to me. Well Mr. Nice went from Mr. Jerk in explaining this. Again — I was never rude about it but just curious. He offered to grab a manager but I didn’t see it was necessary so I just gave up since it was just a curiosity. Well, I could’ve been a bitch and been like, the change is now your tip but wanting to leave him the full amount I ended up paying with a credit card since it seemed clear this was their preferred method. Okay — credit card total was again, $ 4.30 — 3.30 for drink plus one buck for tip. Well, this isn’t a crazy amount but when I got my credit card statement Mr. Jerk charged me an extra $ 3 bucks! For what — I have no clue. Maybe he gave himself a better tip. Who knows. In the end — all of this is ridiculous. I realize that. I’m not going to go through the hassle of disputing it at this point but the principle of the matter. I had one drink that night and got screwed over — I wonder how many other people who have actually gotten drunk have been victims to this. Just in general — the crowd isn’t that great but more importantly, the staff is rude, they’re crooks evidently, and they don’t take change(seriously, wtf?). I would warn people to check their CC statements whenever they’re here. If they’re ripping people off on an amount this small, imagine how much they’re ripping people off whose tabs are way higher. It would be easy for them to mess with a drunk person. They sign for $ 45, get charged $ 50 – 55 in the end — too drunk to remember for certain. Just saying… Be careful.

Been their multiple times. Can’t even count. Their $ 9.99 Sat night steak dinner WAS our fav. Another great meal, but got the bill and was overcharged, didn’t see it itemized so I asked the waitress for The itemized bill. Got it. Steak dinner charged @ $ 12.95. Asked why the increase when the web site still states $ 9.99. Waitress told us the manager will talk to us. He came over and I showed the current $ 9.99 on their web site. He told me the price went up and he would not adjust to the advertised price. It was a $ 6 increase for us, which I could care less about, but I felt I should have been given the advertised price. I WONTBEBACK. DISAPPOINTED. Another good place crossed off my list forever. Goodbye. Also ; The cook needs To lay off the season salt; WAYTOSALTYSTEAK this time. Find it ironic the manager bragging about his 42 years experience in the business to his coworker; but couldn’t get this one right. Customer is king. Learn the hard way I guess.

Out of town visitor so take this review with a grain of salt. Uptown atmosphere for the twenty something if that is what you are looking for. Nice extensive bar menu. Food was average and nothing to rave about. Someone recommended this place for their burgers so I had the mushroom and Swiss with tater tots($ 12) and my son had the flatbread with pepperoni and banana peppers. Again, it was just average for the price. We sat up on the rooftop and that was one of the nicest feature of the restaurant/bar. Service was very good. She was attentive and checked back often. Summary…Value: B– this is uptown so expect higher prices portions on the small size. Atmosphere: A Food: C

I’ve been to this place several times to drink, but never to eat. So I’m only rating this on the one meal I’ve had. My visit was 08/19/2015. It was Wednesday’s «All You Can Eat King Crab Legs.» I’ve had crab, but holy moly these were HUGE! Each leg could’ve easily been between 15″ — 20″ long. I tend to ask where the seafood is from(because I don’t condone sea slaves), and the waiter said they were from Alaska. Our friends got there 20 minutes before we did and they were seated immediately. So seating for us wasn’t a problem. I know others had to wait, but what do you expect at a first come first serve establishment? The KC came with your choice of side salad and any style of potato. My friends chose loaded mash while I went for the tots. Yum! The crabs came out roughly 10 minutes after the salad and we just dove in. The crab was fantastic, soft and not overcooked. The shell was tender enough to break with my fork instead of the cruncher, so that’s what I used. The claws were MASSIVE! I wish I would’ve take pictures! The staff was also polite, funny, and attentive. They refilled waters quickly, handed out extra napkins and wet wipes. They also brought out endless plates of lemons(upon our request). Between the four of us, we had 38 legs/claws. We were STUFFED! So based on my one visit, I’d say 4 stars(only because I had crab). I’m sure there’s other things on the menu I’d like.

Uptown tavern is pretty fun on a Friday or Saturday night. Drinks aren’t cheap but their music is better than most bars in that area. They also have a live dj and TV screens playing the music videos, so it’s pretty mainstream but there’s some sweet remixes. The rooftop is pretty at night. If it’s cold, they have space heaters and if it’s rainy or sunny they have large umbrellas to sit under. Their happy hour wasn’t that great. I did order the chicken quesadilla appetizer which came with 4 pieces. I split the meal with a friend and it was perfect. I also tried the Chicken Caesar Wrap which was good. Mainly chicken, cheese, a bunch of spinach and dressing. The kettle chips are yummy though! Id give it a 5 out of 10. It was good but not worth trying again.

After news that we had to wait almost an hour for our table, was treated quite rudely at the main floor bar. With four of us present, we were planning to enjoy the crab-leg special and spend some nice dough at the bar. The bar tender was rude, accused us of being disrespectful, never asked us if we wanted to start a tab, closed us out and looked at us like we were strange. We immediately called for a manager to explain the situation for which his response was«we never had a complaint about her before». Really??? Yet, we decided we wouldn’t let that deter us from having a good time. We went upstairs to the patio, had 2 more drinks, received our text saying the table was ready. When we went down to the host, he said he didn’t think we were coming and that we didn’t come down stairs quick enough so we’d have to wait for the next table. He even had the nerve to ask if we understood what he just said. Ummm… do we look completely ignorant? We chucked the duces and took our business to Stella’s were we were seated within ten minutes and treated with the upmost respect. This establishment will NEVER receive my business again in life!!!

Did you know they have ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT-CRAB-LEGS on Wednesdays? Well, now you do!:) Normally, I go to Mystic Lake for seafood night on a Wednesday night but since this place is closer and almost about the same price, $ 27.99, it is alright. I want to give it two and a half stars but it doesn’t give me the option so I am giving it 3 stars(cause I am generous). Pros– *King Crab Legs-They are big! No snow crab here, if you want them go to Chinese buffets around the corner when they have seafood on Sundays. These King Crab Legs are tasty and worth the money. It comes with a choice of side salad and potato. Most of their potato are burnt. I got tator tots and they were not great at all! Their salad was meh… *Atmosphere-It is a fun bar with lots of tvs everywhere. There’s a room with some fun games like darts, arcade and etc… A great place for friends to hang out *Rooftop-I haven’t checked out their rooftop yet but I heard it is fun. Next time, I will check it out! Cons– *Service is a little slow. Took them a while to get our salad and then wait another 15 minutes to get our crab legs. *Parking. If you are not from the area and you end up parking at the meter it could be costly. It is located in the heart of uptown so that’s why. So it is a great place to meet and hang with a group of people. Almost forgot to mention they have trivia game starting at 9pm. I would definitely come back!

Awesome rooftop. It’s essentially stella’s without the fish stank. The serving staff were fun and friendly and they kept the drinks flowing. Didn’t stick around long enough to have any food, but we’ll definitely be back in the near future as everything on the menu looked delish! Also, a guy next to us ordered a HUGE bloody! Tons of garnishes on it. I’m interested in finding out how much that sucker was next time were there. it looked amazing!

I had a pretty shitty experience here with food and service my first time dinning. My bun on my burger was twice the size of my beef patty. It looked comical. Our server was painfully slow, and screwed up our bill because she told us it was two for one and it wasn’t. After writing about that experience a manager reached out to me and invited me back. I made the mistake of coming back on a Friday. The roof top was packed, ass to ass. The hostess looked like someone forced her to be there. Seemed like her face had a permanent upside down smile. She didn’t even try to be friendly. She said it was a 20 minute wait for a table or we can sit on the patio sectional and order from there. We opted for the latter. It took a while for a server to come take our order, but she was friendly enough when she got to us. I ordered the same burger as my first time, the manager had said they noticed their bun issue and corrected it, the bacon and blue cheeseburger. My boyfriend ordered a buffalo wrap with tats. My burger was much better looking. The bun was smaller, the size fit this time. It was cooked to medium, the toppings were tasty, but I wish it came with lettuce and tomato. It needed some freshness. I forgot that it didn’t come with it, but then I also remembered the last time I asked for it the server said it was an extra $ 1 then forgot to bring it anyhow. The buffalo wrap was fine. I thought the chicken was dry. The tats were better than the wrap. I’m not a fan of wraps at all, and this one didn’t change my mind. It was great that the manager cared enough to invite me back for a better experience. It’s good to see them make an effort. My burger was much better on this occasion. My server was friendly and efficient. They just need to get some enthusiastic hostesses.

I’ve been to Uptown Tavern multiple times and I think it’s best as a late night bar. I actually went with some friends recently for happy hour food and drinks, and it was mediocre at best. Their happy hour seemed nice because if you order an app you get a free drink. We all ended up doing that and I ordered the fish tacos, and my friends ordered fish tacos, chicken tenders and fries. When the apps came with the drinks, the drinks were smaller than what I was drinking upstairs, but I guess I should’ve expected that. The fish tacos were bland — there were 3 and I ended up only eating one. Definitely nothing special. The fries were OK, but how can you even mess up fries?! Haha! My other friend thought her chicken tenders were fine too. For the bar scene, it’s fun in the summer because of the rooftop. But the downside is they usually have the longest line to wait and go to the roof in the summers!!! It sucks. I’m not sure how I manage to wait, but somehow I find a way to get there eventually. The downstairs is really fun in the winter since a lot of people are there. I’ve had times where the bartender accidentally charged me twice for my drinks, and that was a little irritating. Even though it’s pretty chaotic as a bar, I still love the rooftop in the summer to drink and hang out with friends! I’ll go back for the rooftop since we bar-hop anyway.

So I have yet to eat here, but I have enjoyed a few drinks a decent amount of times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is fun and modern; even on random days of the week you can expect a small crowd. Being a young woman, I’ve found that there is no need to worry about creepy guys one may run into because the bartender will make sure that you’re taken care of. In addition, the manager will reinforce your love for the bar by comp-ing you shots after you get someone kicked out. Basically great happy hour, awesome rooftop, good fire top tables and the best service you could ask for. In order for this to be a legitimate review I do need to explore the menu and have a meal here. But I feel at home.
