The burgers, corndogs, Malts and onion rings were awesome! Chicken fingers were ok. Stay away from the fried chicken, it was rubbery and didn’t taste good. Staff was friendly and it was a fun place for me to bring the kids in the summer time!

I’ve driven past this place 100s of times, but never thought of stopping by. Not sure why I stopped by. Maybe it was because I was a little hungry. My son and I tried the Reuben and the Cali burger with fries. To my surprise, the food was VERYGOOD! I have tried plenty burgers at tons of different places and the burgers here ranks top 3 in the state for me. Very juicy, full of flavor and tastes delicious. I can’t wait to come back for more.

Coming from Cali, nothing beats a double double from In and Out… But the double California from Wagners comes pretty close. My fav burger spot in the twin cities to date. Nice people, nice cars, good food. Stay away from the fried chicken specials unless you want dry freezer burned chicken. Stick to the burgers and sandwiches.

Food tasted top shelf. Would’ve given a better rating if not for immediate blowout afterward. A couple doses of pepto tightened me right back up.

Who doesnt love a drive-in? Open year round!!! Best griddled burger in town! Crisp edges, still juicy. Awesome crinkle cut fries. Cannot beat the prices anywhere and the service is always fast and friendly. Seriously can’t be beat.

Good fresh made burger and Philly sandwich great steak on the Philly but not as much cheese on it like I hope nor any mushroom or green onion the onion ring was off the hook. For me fresh made and perfect deep fried not too greasy and can still taste the onion itself inside will be back for more and hopefully the infamous shakes

I’ll start by saying«I have nothing against the greasy spoon type». In fact, I’ve been known to pass up a nice healthy salad for a shot at a good lunch at a greasy spoon. That said, there is a difference between a greasy spoon and just spoon fulls of grease! I’ve had this craving for a good Ruben. Now the Ruben is the type of thing that you want to order from a greasy spoon. someplace where they throw it on a flat griddle with some butter and all the drippings from the burgers before it! Now again, that’s fine and expected but most places will at least scrape the griddle first and take the grease level down a couple of notches. I blame this Ruben craving; A– on my love for the Ruben, B– Those damn Arby adds. I will never drop to the level of ordering a Ruben from Arbys, that would really be sad and an excuse to never be allowed on Unilocal ever again. So instead I joined everyone ordering Friday work lunch from Wagners. I’ve heard the food is really good and love the local little drive-in aspect of it. There aren’t very many of these places around and even right now this is worth a second chance. The Ruben was super gross though. It reminded me of a McDonald’s burger that had been sitting in the wrapper and cooling to long. The bread was soaked with grease, even the meat was greasy. The cheese was OK but the dressing had coagulated with all the grease from the meat. Even the french fries were just OK. This Ruben thing sat in me like a bitchy old house guest on the couch for the holidays for far too long. I felt bloated and could smell the grease trying to escape from my skin for 2 days. I’ll try it again just because it’s local but maybe try something a little lighter, or not! Maybe I just needed a beer! That makes even house guests bearable! KT

Wow, I had no idea this greasy little gem existed until earlier this week… I tagged along with the BF to a Wednesday night gathering of car guys at the drive-in. Since Porky’s is no longer, this became the new hot spot to hang out for the boys. Thankfully I wasn’t the only girl there(the other one was of the canine kind though). It was a nice night, so we sat out at one of the picnic tables, and our food was walked out to us within 5 minutes of placing our order inside. We found a sandwich coupon on their website for a buy one get one for $ 2 deal. Their prices are more than reasonable to begin with, but the coupon was certainly an added bonus. Speaking of prices, you can get many of their sandwiches/burgers for $ 7 or so with fries and a soda – and surprisingly they have unlimited soda refills! I had the good ol’ traditional chicken sandwich(with lettuce, tomato and mayo), and man was it DELICIOUS! I would say it was better than both Chick-fil-A and Gordy’s(both of which were pretty high on my chicken sandwich meter) The fries were decent – they’re pretty much your typical crinkle fries, although they had the right amount of crisp and weren’t too greasy, so I guess they’re a little better than average. I would just prefer some real fresh cut fries, but that’s just me being picky. Service was limited, but great – everyone was very friendly and accommodating, so no complaints there. I think I’ll plan on visiting next time on a hot, muggy summer day just so I can delight in some ice cream goodness of the shake, malt, cone or sundae variety and not feel guilty about it. I know Minnesota’s got a few of those kind of days lined up for us, so I’ll be ready and waiting for my next Wagner’s visit! Good to note: there are just 2 or 3 small tables inside, and a limited number of «drive-in» spots. Most of the available seating will be found out at the tables near the train tracks, so keep this in mind if it’s raining out.
