BRINGBACKTHECAFEDELCOROZONCOFFEE!!! It was the best and now it’s only sold as decaf! Please bring it back :) That would bump this rating up to 5 stars.

This is one of the best coffee shops at the University of Minnesota. It is located in a library which makes the library an even better place to be. Kim, one of the staff is friendly and makes you feel special when you are there. They have shorter hours in the summer and during school breaks. It would be nice if the hours were normal at that time, but I understand business may be slower with less students around campus.

Typical university coffee shop in the basement of Walter library. It closes a bit too early and isn’t the most comfortable. It is right across from the help desk. Not too many tables, but it’s nice to grab a cup and find a corner in the library. The coffee and drinks are fine. Smoothies are good. Just doesn’t have much for solid foods to consume!

Nestled in the basement of Walter Library on the U of M campus lies Wise Owl café. My #1 place to study at 7AM in the morning before class, the Wise Owl Café is your typical university-owned coffee shop — however, Wise Owl has a nice bookshelf full of awesome novels you can check out if you are a U of M student, and they also have interesting science articles posted on the wall. My only qualm is that the staff at night is kind of horrible. The chai tea is not chai tea. In fact, I have no idea what it is. What rescued Wise Owl from a 2 star rating is that coffee refills are only 54 cents! Overall, a great place to write a paper or study in the morning at the U of M.
