Well, I think RS focus on the the food is lacking, which begs the question, what is left? My wife called a few days ahead to make reservations for a dinner for three. Seemed easy, got the time we wanted. So we showed up at the Ridgedale location, or what we thought was the Ridgedale location. Apparently they opened just days before in the new Ridgedale Mall location, and they were converting the location we showed up at into«RS Sports Grill». Inconvenient, and we wondered out loud why we weren’t told about the fresh move, the desk we called could have easily told us. At least it wasn’t far away. Minus One. We alerted our other guest of the location change, and arrived and were seated. The music was loud! Too loud to converse at our table, in fact, drowning out the crowd around us, and our server! We asked for it to be turned down, which they did, and that helped a little. Holding at minus One. Drinks were good. Some good local beers from the tap, so nothing special here to write about. The Buffalo Jumbo Shrimp looked excellent, and the shrimp were high quality, but the buffalo sauce was overpowering and too salty. I found myself wiping it off what were very good jumbo shrimp in a light crispy tempura-like batter, but I just couldn’t get enough sauce off to fully enjoy the shrimp. The second missed opportunity to make me a fan — I have crossed an item off my mental RS menu. There’s still the main course, I thought, so I had another beer and relaxed. Minus Two. Entre’s ordered were two Prime Dips and a half rack of baby back ribs. The prime dips looked good and the sandwich looked and tasted great. The«au jus» was a surprise tho — its really just a french onion soup with little or no savory beef flavor. Can’t really call it «french onion au jus», its just french onion. And it was greenish, which was unsettling for a dip plate. So, this plate was just good. Not very good or great. No love lost, it was exactly what was in the menu, it just wasn’t a killer dish at all. I crossed another menu item off my mental RS menu. Holding at Minus Two. The baby back ribs came with fries and slaw. The fries were tasty! I was really hungry by now, so I started in on the ribs, which were barked on the outside and then coated in a thicker type of BBQ sauce. They looked good. But, under that sauce I found the ribs weren’t expertly barked, they were charred black and so bitter, the sweet sauce couldn’t even over come it. I spat it out. The sides, corners and slab underside was carbonized to the bone. I didn’t even try the slaw before I sent it back. Minus Three. I watched my dinner mates finish their prime dips while I ate some more fries. They were done eating for a few minutes when someone that I assume was the manager(he didn’t identify himself) brought a new rib plate with slaw and a apology and a credit for the ticket, which was appreciated. Since it was time for dessert, I respected my dinner mates and their experience and asked for the ribs to be packed up to go without even trying them, and we ordered dessert. Holding at minus Three — for now. Dessert was awesome! The Banana Split was outstanding, and so was the Key Lime Pie! This was the highlight of the night, and recouped a point in my book. Back to minus Two. For now. It wasn’t until the next day that I dug into the ribs and slaw at home. The ribs — charred again, a little less so, but still more bitterly than the sauce could rescue. Any remaining intact meat was jerky this time. Oh for two on the ribs. And the slaw — bitter city. I attribute the bitter slaw to the cabbage head quality. Minus Three at the end. And a third item cross of my mental RS menu list. Not often one can say that out of six items ordered on one evening, three won’t be ordered again. I think they should be tasting their own food much more often. The food appears to not be reliable or a good value. Well executed food doesn’t make you worry about the price. I won’t return based on this experience.

I first went to the original Ridgedale location(just south of Ridgedale Mall), and was politely told that they were closed and were remodeling to become a sports bar. I mentioned that we made online reservations and was very politely told about the new location on the north side of Ridgedale Mall. And so I went. The new location is much larger, and right next to a new Kona Grill location(SOOOO excited, we need to go there too!!). I had my usual, the rotisserie chicken, always awesome. I enjoyed it, but for some reason I found that the chicken here and at the Maple Grove location to be a bit less seasoned and as moist as the original Ridgedale location. I’ll cut them some slack as this location has only been open for one week and they might need to fine tune things. But I still thoroughly enjoy my chicken and would get it again in a heartbeat! Also awesome were the ribs and the Buffalo shrimp appetizer. Not to be missed! The staff was very nice and helpful too!

We had a great lunch here. Dip sandwich was delicious. Prices are a little high. Tasty drink menu but they had very few beers on tap. The seats and floor are in a serious need of replacing(all torn and worn out). Would visit here again. They are opening a new one in the mall across the street. I don’t know if they are having 2 locations or what. But the standalone building is so nice I don’t know why they would move.

The team At redstone got it right with the Mother’s Day buffet. Amazing!!! Great quality food, hot food, huge variety and immaculate service. Hats off to you guys. Quite likely the best buffet in the twin cities.

They have the most amazing meatloaf dinner. Hard to describe, and really must be be tasted and well, experienced. Seriously, it was tied for the best meatloaf I’ve ever had(Webers Grill, Schaumburg, IL). Great restaurant, very attentive staff, not too noisy at least where I sat. A gem.

When my wife wants Chicken, I know she doesn’t want to goto KFC. It’s here. Their roasted chicken with premium class paired with pineapple infused vodka is what she is craving. I like some of their flatbreads because of their use of cheeses. Parking is the only issue. Plan ahead and load up one vehicle.

Great food. Fast and friendly service. I recommend getting the chicken and ribs. It comes with side of fries and coleslaw. Was a good portion, I’m 6’3 and 250lbs and it satisfied my hunger. Really good quality chicken and ribs. Lots of old people at this location though. Nothing wrong with that, but it wont allow for the best vibe if you’re on a date.

I’ve been here a few times now and each time I try something different. This last week, visiting with some colleagues, I tried the Red Snapper. The fish was really made well. Firm, yet with tender fillets, blackened with a medium cajun seasoning. Some of the appetizers are pretty good. The buffalo shrimp comes to mind. I’ll be back again!

Christmas brought me to the MPLS area from Phoenix. That’s all the reason I needed to stop in at Redstone for dinner. My server Carl suggested the BBQ Glazed Meatloaf, with a TASTY bowl of Chicken Noodle soup as an appetizer. An Amber Ale completed the main courses. Dessert you ask? Why a Banana Split concoction made sure I’d leave a HAPPY and CONTENT man. Run, don’t walk to Redstone. One of THEEBEST in MPLS.

This is a solid option for meeting friends or family in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. They take reservations, the wine list is decent, there is a variety of menu options –all are pretty good. You can get lighter fare and heavy meals. The décor is nice, a bit dated but not super retro. I hadn’t been here in awhile and it is a good option. I think the 3.5 rating is accurate. Older concept but able to get a table. In summer, the fire out and patio are nice.

Typical American restaurant. Buffet on easter was good. My goto place for chocolate cake take out. Sunday brunch was ok, not many cocktail options also.

Apparently I had been here before for my birthday but I totally forgot. Must’ve been an unimpressive first time. My friend had her baby shower there and it was a party of about 12. There were complimentary mimosas for all of us which was a big YES for us. I’m not a fan of pumpkin everything BUT their house bread was delicious and warm. We probably ate 6 or 7 between us. Our meals were all delicious. We had: cobb salad, brunch burger, eggs benedict, and pancakes. Definitely a fan.

Although there are several of these throughout the country it doesn’t seem like a «chain» restaurant. From the décor to the atmosphere this is a great place to have a meal. This trip I got the wild caught salmon and it was delectable. It has a Cajun twist to it which sealed the deal to me. When I come here I usually he the buffalo shrimp apprised but elected not to this trip. If you get the chance I’d come here for lunch or dinner.

I couldn’t decide between the chicken or the ribs, so I had both. The smoked chicken had a deep hickory taste and was incredibly moist, and the ribs were fall off the bone. I’m not exaggerating when I say that, I picked the rib up, the meat would fall off and I’d have to eat the ribs with my fork! One extra bonus– the red stone pineapple vodka! Try it, but we were warned there is a 3 drink maximum for this drink. So good!

I’ve been a few times when visiting the twin cities. It’s a great looking restaurant, excellent interior, it’s just very cool looking. The food is just okay. It’s hard to describe, but it looks better than it tastes. The cornbread wedge is great, but everything else is just m’eh. We had good service, they have some interesting brews, but other than that, m’eh again. After all my visits, I let out descriptive farts.

Oddly enough, most of Redstone’s half dozen or so locations are either right here in the Twin Cities area or out East right near where my parents live in New Jersey. So I can dine at Redstone whether I’m at home or visiting my family. Either way I find visits to Redstone to really be wonderful. It is called a GRILL and I generally find that things that are grilled are the best — primarily steak. This is one of my go-to places when I want a really good filet. Here are my highlights: –Buffalo shrimp appetizer. This is one of the few food items I actually CRAVE on a regular basis. By far the best Buffalo-flavored thing ever. Giant shrimp coated in crispy batter, fried and then coated in delicious Buffalo sauce, then drizzled with some kind of cream/crema and bleu cheese crumbles on top. the half order comes with three, full order with five. Just get the full. Also makes for a great lunch with a bowl of soup. I was apparently so busy eating these that I forgot to take a picture of them, but check out Louise M’s review for her photo! –Petite filet. My go-to. Always cooked perfectly with a lovely crust and juicy inside, cooked exactly med-rare the way I asked for it. With a loaded baked potato on the side, it’s pretty much heaven if you like a good steak every now and then. –Chocolate cake. As someone mentioned, this is like seriously the size of your head and delicious. The most sinful part about it is that they bring it to the table with a little silver pitcher of chocolate sauce and ask you so slyly if you would like any EXTRA chocolate sauce on your cake. Seriously. Seriously??? No, please take the chocolate sauce away, since I obviously have oodles of self control since I ordered this gigantic piece of chocolate cake on top of my huge meal. –My husband ordered the coconut halibut, which he reported to be good. My mom likes to get the salmon. This is all I know about the seafood that is not Buffalo Shrimp. –Service is always good to great. Oddly enough the only thing I don’t like about Redstone is their booths. There’s something about them that makes it hard for me to fully relax, but I think it’s just the table height. I’m 5’2″ so the table is too high or too far away or something. But if you can get a normal table, problem solved.

Redstone. I love the name as to me it means ruby. Ruby supposedly brings good luck for single people to find a mate. No wonder, I often read on Unilocal that it is a pick up place, even for cougars. Hell, cougars need companionship too. I guess cats can apply as well. I have been here several times for lunch with work. I have never experienced that ruby magic gemstone effect I mentioned above. It has always been a short delicious break from stressful work day with some colleagues. In fact, last time there, instead of being lucky, my brand new car was the one that got lucky and got kissed by another car’s ass on the bumper. I considered it unlucky for me. Very unlucky. However, after the whole ordeal outside and dealing with cops finishing police report, I was finally able to eat lunch. I was starving at that point and was so happy to see buffalo shrimps on the table. They were big and tasty. I loved it! I ordered grilled walleye with rice and it came with some asparagus. I didn’t leave a single trace of food on my plate. I licked it clean. Our server was very attentive and informative. She served the best iced tea as she loaded it up with ice so it was super cold. Tea melts ice so fast and I often had to ask for an extra glass of ice to keep it cold or have it as I liked it. Most of the time, I get warm iced tea with some ice and I hate that. No one ever load the cup with ice because they would have to refill it sooner. Not here and I never had an empty cup waiting to be refilled. Good place! I understand that superstition is bullshit because you make your own luck, my friend. No gem stone can help you get anything in life except maybe a great grilled walleye.

Our family came for Easter Dinner and had a pretty good experience. Our server Raco was very friendly and helpful with recommending specials while paying very close attention to our unique needs. He was very attentive to keeping our beverages filled and fulfilling our requests quickly. The food: Good, but oily. the halubit: 8/10, very good fish preperation. Howevee the veggies were covered in a rich buttery sauce which could have been separated to reduced oil. Flat bread, chop salad, calamari: 9⁄10 Very good, highly recommend. No complaints Bbq/burger: 8⁄10 Both tender and rich in flavor. I’d recommend enjoying the great eats and vibe :)

pretty good steakhouse/grill fare. acceptable portion sizes, good size menu and overall good-enough steaks the best thing here though is the CHOCOLATECAKE. remember hat movie Matilda? the kid is forced to eat the entire chocolate cake in front of his class. While you watched that scene you were a little disgusted as he shoved the enormous cake into is mouth using his hands. but at the same time you really wanted to try some… don’t deny it. This cake is like that. Moist, not too chocolaty and a slice that is more than enough for sharing.

We had a our Sunday Brunch here today. The restaurant has patio seating as well, we sat inside. The place looks great. The bar has 4 TVs to view, each one had a different sport streaming. We ordered Ribs, eggs Benedict and chef’s special. This was the first time i tried ribs and they were delicious. I’ve had egg Benedict before, but Redstone’s eggs Benedict blows the competition away. The server Karl was very jolly and prompt.
