What a great place. Being new to Charlotte brings the headaches of … finding a new everything. The scheduling was done without an issue. They are VERY much on time, which I’m not used to where I’m from. I was late once(because I missed my appointment, — got confused on the time), and they accommodated me for a later time — same day. They get back to you quickly. They are not rushing through the time with you, and everyone is so curteous. I’ve been here a few times, and so far so good! I will continue to come here and will refer this place to others. BTW — A huge plus… One day they say… well, you need a mammogram, and I’m like GRRRR! And then they say… well you could on the pink bus outside! I’m like WHAT? Of course, I did it and I was in and out in 15 mins of the mammogram. Everyone was lovely… :)

So I was new to Charlotte, partially dying from allergies and doctorless. I had called more than 10 doctors offices trying to make an appointment as a new patient. As many of you know, as a new patient, you are usually scheduled weeks out. I had heard about Dr. Chen from a family friend but was told that she was so sought after that she wasn’t taking any new patients. I decided to call anyway and give it a shot. I got an appointment a week later. The staff at Mint Hill Primary Care are exceptional. As a medical professional myself, I know that at times, our jobs can get hectic and overwhelming. Dr. Chen’s staff are always helpful, usually answer the phone right away(that never happens at other places, like never!) and I have never waited over 20 minutes to be called from the waiting room. That is a big deal to me. If I have an appointment, I don’t expect to be sitting around a germ infested waiting room for an hour or more. Once brought back to a room, Dr. Chen always arrives within minutes. She always has a smile, a warm hello and an even warmer how have you been. She really takes the time to get to know her patients, and I appreciate and respect that. I would give Dr. Chen and her staff a 1000 stars if I could. I haven’t liked a doctor this much since my childhood pediatrician! God bless Dr. Chen. As long as I am living in Charlotte she will always be my PCP.

Since I am new to the area, I picked my PCP solely based on distance from my home and work. Who wants to take a trek when they are sick, right? Sadly, I might need to after this visit. I don’t really want to give this practice a one star review because that implies that there was something gross or unsanitary. The cleanliness and the newness of the practice were truly the only positives that I can give because the care I received was poor. I arrived 15 minutes early with my intake paperwork complete, only to find out that I had to complete additional, redundant paperwork. Okay, fine. Quickly finished the paperwork, and then preceded to watch my scheduled appointment time come and go. Twenty minutes later(mind you, 35 minutes of waiting at this point), one of the nursing staff brought me back, weighed me(with clunky shoes on, so not an accurate read), and plunked me in a room to wait another 15 minutes(getting ridiculous now) for only a different nurse to come out to ask me the same flipping questions that I completed in my paperwork. That nurse then left, and I waited another 15 minutes(anyone notice a trend here?) for the nurse practitioner to complete my physical. And, guess what? The SAME questions yet again! Really, you can’t just glance over the paperwork and ask me for any clarifications? Can you predict what happened next? If you guessed that I, yet again, waited another 15 minutes for, yet again, another nurse, you would be correct! My main goal of the appointment was to get a TB skin test for work. I am guessing this nurse wasn’t well trained because she seemed to struggle with the idea that I might indeed need a band-aide for my arm that was gushing blood after her crappy placement. So, 80 minutes in total for a basic physical with substandard care. They also apparently overcharged me for my co-pay because I randomly received a check in the mail for overpayment.

Today was my first visit with my new PCP and let me tell you how very pleased I was with this practice. Everything is so very clean and organized. I was in the waiting room all about 5 mins before being seen… amazing. The introduction and exam went well. I was able to get the referrals needed and they got me into the lab right then and there for your basic panels. Everything is on premise and ah so convenient. Looking forward to meeting my referrals. Thanks Mint Hill Primary Care! They have free wi-fi and I believe take Amex should you need it.
