I also bought the costco snap ware and it is crazy how tough it is to frickin snap the snap ware! We are pretty fit folks and we cannot snap more than one to two sides on the snap ware most of the time. Very frustrating!

Bought the Snapware set at Costco. I would NOT recommend, unless you want to incorporate strength training into your food storage. I have to snap each tab by pressing myself against the container into the side of my butcher block counter top. Even then, I risk a hernia. Air-tight is a nice concept but I’m not taking them into outer-space. Don’t confuse these with Snapware Canisters(ones with white lid and single tap closure). Those are awesome! Easy, fast, best canisters ever.

After my Mum scolded me for using plasticware to microwave my lunches at work, I finally broke down and got rid of all those plastic containers I had accumulated over the years. I hopped on the Internet and did what every good shopper does — I researched the best non-plastic microwaveable food storage containers. Seems SNAPWARE’s Glass Lock products have a near monopoly on this market. Anchor Hocking also offers some containers but the Glass Lock ones seemed ideal for taking meals on the go. Anyways, after a lot of Googling, I decided I would go with the Glass Lock containers. A friend mentioned I could get them at a discount at a Ross or TJ Maxx but since my free time is very limited right now, I went straight to The Container store this weekend and got a whole assortment of sizes. The seal sits inside a groove in the plastic lid to make it airtight. Flaps snap on all four sides to secure the top — the only thing is that it’s not that easy to snap them into place. I’m assuming it’s because they are brand new and the plastic will probably loosen up a little over time — I’d much rather build a little muscle sealing my lunch than have it spill all over my lunch bag. I discovered after some trial and error that the best way to close it is to snap both sides in at the same time and then turn the container and do the same on the other sides. One thing to note — I really wanted the containers with the green seal but most of the online stores seemed to offer a grey seal. I contacted SNAPWARE and was told a lot of the stores only carry the grey seal. Costco has some special package that has different colors so the lids are color-coded. The Container store sells quite a few sizes — all with the far superior green seals.
