ANDTHREATENTHECUSTOMERWITHLEGALACTION.» Extra space storage is one of the most«unethical,» and«fraudulent,» storage companies that i’ve ever had the unfortunate experience of doing business with. And there’s no security on the premises protecting your belongings in the event there was ever a breakin. The location in Miramar has been broken into so many times its ridiculous. My account was overbilled for 3 years even after i had previously presented the proper documents at the very beginning of opening my account with extra space. I contacted extra space more than one time, thinking they’d do the right thing and make the correct adjustments to my account, and reimburse me back the monies overbilled, but nothing was ever done about it. The original contract stated that i was supposed to be billed the amount $ 37.10 and not $ 47.10. Extra space was still charging me their own property insurance rate of $ 10 a month even after i provided a copy of my own property insurance at the very beginning when i first opened the account. And It wasn’t until late last year around mid November after contacting extra space(for the 3rd or 4th time, not sure, lost count) was when the new employee had discovered my information had been hidden in a file on the computer. And that’s when the correct adjustment was made to my account and i got credited a month free. And now i’m being told by extra space not only are they not going to reimburse me back the money that was overbilled to me, but that i don’t have access to my belongings unless i pay them an overdue balance of over $ 200. So you rip off customers on purpose, then you hold onto their belongings for ransom, and threaten them with legal action? Ill never do business with these people ever again in life. Extra Space was professional in the beginning when we were inquiring about space there. They called and followed up constantly until we decided to go with them. On November 28th, we removed our truck from the storage facility; it was after 5pm and no one was there to close the account. The Following day 11÷29÷14 I called to close the account and also to make sure I was not charged for the month of December. The manager said it should take about 5 days to credit my account since they had already charged us. It is 12÷29÷14 and I am still waiting for a credit and call back from management. even called corporate several times to get assistance but no luck. Bad follow up service and I would not recommend this place to the Korean Dictator or Castro or Osama bin Laden if he were alive! GO somewhere else
