So, I saw in my Sunday paper that Office Depot had Sharpie markers for .25 cents on sale! That’s a good deal, so Friday afternoon I drive 10 miles over to the store and they basically have nothing left! A few odd-ball colors, but basically cleaned-out. I talk to some«sales associate» who tells me «Sorry, when the product is gone it’s gone– no rain checks». So, I ask for the manager, «Dan» comes over and I can see the first«sales associate» standing their with a smirk and a big grin on his face as he watches«Dan» walk towards me, he obviously thinks this is funny. Manager«Dan» tells me the same thing«Sorry no rain checks, substitutions — when their gone, their gone». Absolutely NO customer –compassion or service! So, I went over to Office Max(Office Depot and Office Max have recently merged) and the manger there, «Eric», basically told me the same thing, but when I pushed him on the customer service issue he did finally offer to sell me a set of Sharpies for the sale price of .25 cents each. I didn’t get the«exotic» colors I wanted, but at least«Eric» did finally come around and try to offer some customer service.
