The food was great. The atmosphere was pretty good. The service from the server was great. I was very disappointed in the 30 minutes it took before we were asked to order. I think this was the fault of management. Our server didn’t seem to know that we were her table. But, once she started helping us, she was great.

I am not going to lie. I have been wanting to come to this place since it opened. Alas, I move to South Carolina, and when I come home it just usually gets overruled by other, more nostalgic options for food. While I was home for the holidays this year, I finally got the chance to give this place a try on an outing with my Aunt. The atmosphere is nice enough. I was in the mood for sushi, but I won’t lie, I’m skeptical about eating sushi in a Midwestern small-town. Yes, living close to the coast has made me a snob about raw seafood. Oh well! I opted for the ginger shrimp because it seemed like one of the healthier lunch options, and the waitress raved about how good the shrimp was here. It wasn’t the worst meal I’ve ever had, but I wouldn’t order it again. There wasn’t very much sauce on my plate to go with my unseasoned shrimp and white rice. Not to mention, their lunch menu wasn’t the cheapest for Asian food. While I wouldn’t ban it from my list of places to go, I will probably stick to my favorites when I come home next time.

Bad experience… The salt and pepper calamari was way over cooked, like rubber. And coated with wheat flour not rice flour. When I told the waiter how over cooked it was he said it was because it was still frozen when they put it into the fryer and he would check with his manager and credited 20%, not on the meal but on the dish a big 3.60. Bad food and bad customer service

I really liked the place. It was much better than I thought it would be. But, my waitress was very concerned about us wanting ‘hot’- spicy dishes. My friend ordered some extra peppers after we reassured her that spicy was good. He got green bell peppers in his soup… I’m just saying…

When I’m craving crazy American handrolls with tons of avocado and sauce and tempura crunch all up in my sushi I go here. And the rest of the food is pretty great here too compared to the other options for Asian food. Just don’t order the duck. No. Don’t do it.

The food here is DELICIOUS! I ordered the General Tso chicken and it was the best I’ve ever had. By far the best Chinese food in the South Bend and Mishawaka Area. It wasn’t too busy when we were in so the service was great. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. Huge servings as well. Was full when I left and have tons of left overs. So good!

Eating here for the first time on Christmas day. The Ginger salad is a very fresh and crisp. Clear soup is some of the smoothest I have ever had. Very complex and very very deep flavor. The sushi is so far the best in the area with very competitive prices. The only knock is the excess sauce on the general tsos but that is really personal preference. Already planning my next trip here.

Service was fast even though the restaurant was packed. Servers are attentive and you never find yourself flagging anyone down. I enjoy the Mongolian Beef & the Angel Hair Roll. I’ve never had a bad meal or service at Zing. Restaurant has a simple but elegant atmosphere

My daughter loves Zing and we often celebrate her birthday here. Tonight my wife and I stopped by for some sake and appetizers on our way home. Zing does A pretty good job with sushi and has some great deals on sake if thats your thing. Edamame are really good… my wife always asks for sweet potato tempura even though its not listed on the menu. Miso is always pretty good although their salad is just average. If you like rolls, Zing has a pretty extensive variety… especially of crunchy rolls. Last night we just wanted something light so I had a spicy tuna roll, some miso and edamame. Fish quality is better than average although not perfect… we are in the mid west. I would imagine supplying a sushi place here would be a little difficult. Zings service is always friendly, sometimes a little slow. If you ask for a special boat for celebration dinner or make an off menu request they have been quick to accommodate, and exceed the expectation. Try that at Soho…

Delicious food and good service, with a nice atmosphere and good location. Today, my dad and I ordered carry-out for the first time to take over to the nearby river walk, and we were both impressed. I ordered the vegetarian Teriyaki Eggplant dish with Hot and Sour Soup and a Ginger Salad, and my dad got the Mango Madness roll with another ginger salad. I highly recommend the eggplant dish. Lots of flavor and the beautiful, miniature purple eggplants made it memorable. My dad said his mango roll was good, but I didn’t try any. The total came to $ 35, which I don’t consider over the top. We had enough food to share and take some home.

This was a very cute little Asian fusion restaurant. The lunch menu had more options than I expected I opted for the $ 12 bento box with salmon teriyaki. They start with a flavorful miso soup and a salad with creamy ginger dressing. I wish the salad was cut smaller. The pieces were too big to eat with chopsticks without making a mess. The salmon was a good portion, cooked perfectly, and smothered in thick teriyaki sauce. The broccoli, carrots, and onions were not al dente though, they were practically raw. The bento box also came with ½ a California roll that tasted fresh and was well rolled. The eggroll was too greasy for me, but came topped with a delicious spicy sauce. One cool thing is there is no upcharge for having fried rice instead of the standard white rice. Overall, it was a good experience and I would go again. One icky thing — I asked for a side of eel sauce and it came with a side of random hair. :-/

Very good. I’ll definitely be back and I would highly recommend this place. Leo, my server, was helpful and on purpose. His tea recommendation was on point. The tea service was just lovely. I applaud them for having multiple tea choices! All the dishes I ordered were beautifully presented and very flavorful. Here’s what stopped me from a 5 star rating. The wasabi had just the right amount of heat but also had a bitter taste. The tempura shrimp tasted like it was fried in old oil and the music would have been more suited to an old diner. Soft instrumental or even ethnic appropriate would have given the dining experience a boost. The price was commensurate with the quality and service.

A little bit pricey. Exactly same with Woochi but smaller. The sashimi was very fresh. U can always taste how fresh the fish is if it is raw. The service was pretty good and the waitress recommended the Chinese food too. Tried«pork» one, really different from normal Americanized chinese food. Very very tasty. Gonna visit here and Woochi more often when budget available or have something to celebrate.

Great service! We ordered a variety of menu items. I was very happy with all of the menu choices. Unique choices for sushi choices! The lavender tea at the end was a great way to end the meal. Zing is a great restaurant in downtown Mishawaka. I will be back soon!

I think these guys own Woochi, which I like better. I love Japanese, especially hibachi. Their Hibachi is delicious, and so is their. I love their ginger salad.

This IS as good as it gets! I visit zing monthly and every time I am beyond satisfied. Their volcano roll is to die for. The rolls are always served with great thought about presentation and style. I have never had a bad experience here. Try the crab rangoon and one of their many house rolls. You’ll no doubt find what I have found – this is THE best sushi in Northern Indiana.

This place was a nice little spot to catch dinner. The intimate setting was conducive to conversation and the staff was friendly and patient as we needed some time to decide on our dishes. The staff took care to make sure the presentation was as good as the ingredients. I look forward to visiting this place again. It would be good for a meal with colleagues, date night, or to suck up to the in-laws.
