I have been Stephen’s student for more than a year now, and it has been such a rewarding experience. I have always enjoyed singing, and have sung in choirs and performed with bands. With Steve’s technique, patience, and encouragement, my voice developed in depth and height, which was something I never thought was possible. He is a great communicator, and describes aspects of his technique in a very relatable way. One theme that plays throughout Stephen’s technique is balance– to give just the right amount while singing. Giving too much and giving too little hinders the voice. I’ve always tended to push/give too much while singing, and have learned that this dampens my voice. This theme of balance plays throughout his teaching skills. He is a supportive teacher and yet consistently motivates me to develop my voice further. He teaches his technique in a very dedicated and precise manner, while mixing in humor to help me relax and refocus. One particular thing that really sets him apart from the rest is his passion, his kindness, and his genuine desire to share this technique with whomever is interested and willing to work hard. He teaches all of his students as if they are going to be professional opera singers, and because of this, our voices have developed in ways unimaginable. Steve is a marvelous teacher!

What makes Stephen a superb voice coach is his great love and passion for this art form. Before going to Stephen’s Vocal Studio, I had never taken a voice lesson and I felt scared to try singing. My goal was to learn to speak up in a group, to project my voice and to gain more self-confidence. Stephen’s steady patience, encouragement and excellent teaching skills helped me relax and attain all my goals. Through these voice lessons I discovered that I had a big voice. And he taught me how to project it. I heartily recommend Stephen Fischman to anyone who is serious about wanting to develop their voice.

Amazing teacher! Amazing results! A year ago this month, I was looking for voice lessons when I happened to meet Stephen Fischman at my fellowship. Other congregants had raved about his voice and attended his recitals, so I was very excited to start. I hadn’t sung regularly in 30 years. During my first few lessons I remember feeling that my voice was weak, but Stephen would always tell me something understanding or motivational. He always made me feel comfortable with my voice. Stephen is great at describing the classical Bel Canto techniques in a way that makes sense, and consequently, I feel secure that I am using my voice correctly and not injuring myself. If you’re looking for an amazing technique, I highly recommend you take lessons with Stephen.
