Absolute Florist

So bummed to have just called to place a panicky last-​minute order, only to find out they just closed up shop about a week ago. But, still, time to post my pending review just in case they come back around…

My daughter hadn’t gotten her date’s boutinere ordered as of the day before the dance, so we were in a pinch. Called Absolute, and they had no problem putting together a gorgeous little rose boutinere in time for us to pick up the morning of the dance. The owner was super friendly and helpful, which made the wait to pick up the flowers just a little long. She made sure to give each person in front of me her full attention to get them everything they wanted. Price was right, and the flower quality was fantastic.

Absolute florist is a delight. The owner is so friendly, helpful and talented. The bouquet she put together for a dear friend was breathtakingly beautiful and well priced. And it was an added bonus to hangout with her beautiful puppy while she was busy creating another masterpiece. I hight recommend this florist. My only complaint is that I live in a different state and can’t purchase from her more often.

My boyfriend goes in here frequently because he really enjoys the interactivity with the owner of the shop. He gets me flowers here frequently because he enjoys the selection of flowers, happy hour prices, quality of flowers (I love lilies and she always includes some that are yet to bloom so I get to watch them bloom!), the owner’s puppy is also very friendly and adorable. My boyfriend thinks the service is incredible. She does not pressure him to buy but still makes very good suggestions. Remember– cash only for happy hour. I have yet to be in the shop, but plan to go soon!

Yeah, the happy hour prices are great, but what really makes Absolute Florist special to me is the fantastic service. The owner is just as charming and delightful as can be, while some other florists are rude and indifferent. She knows a ton about flowers and she always remembers me. She’s been my go-​to florist for about 10 years and I’ve always been happy with her work.

I’ve driven past this florist shop dozens of times, each time making a mental note to stop by. I finally tried this shop in search of a bouquet for a friend.
I walked into the shop about 3:30 pm, and was greeted by a woman (who I presume is the owner). Instead of the usual obligatory greeting of «hello» or «how may I help you» she asked «What is it with you people?» I was really confused, but she proceeded to explain that happy hour started in 30 minutes, and that I should find something to do for 30 minutes so she could sell me the flowers at ½ price (cash only).
She was completely right. If I bought 6 gorgeous gerber daisies at 2:30 for $ 5 a pice, it would be $ 30, but if I came back in 30 minutes, I could get those same daisies for $ 15. Of course I could occupy myself for 30 minutes with Annedore’s and Hi-​Hat right down the street.
I returned at 3:00 pm on the dot and purchased six stunning roses from S. America. She said they were a new variety that her grower had for the first time this year, called «Free Spirit.» At $ 3.75 a stem, I felt like I had not only just gotten a great deal, but also had the satisfaction of knowing I was walking out with the most beautiful roses in Kansas City.
There was a lovely variety of flowers, from hydrangeas and lillies to birds of paradise and tulips. On Fridays during happy hour there is complementary wine and chocolate truffles from Annedore’s too. If you want flowers to impress, fabulous service, and ½ flowers, stop by Absolute Florist for happy hour.

This is a great little flower shop tucked back in Westwood, with an excellent happy hour special from 4 – 6 PM of half off cut flowers. Where it might not be on your direct route home, it’s a well worth it detour for the lucky lady in your life. Enjoy!
