First of all the review from Mad C. was totally off base. I personally know the owners and for everyone’s information the tiramisu is their mother’s recipe which they do indeed make in house. My husband and I go on a pizza date night every Friday and have been to every pizza place in KC several times; hands down this is the best pizza in town and most authentic.

I keep coming back to this place, it’s just so good. It is on the faster food spectrum but quality is better. I’ve had the pizza several times and it’s delicious, massive slices of thin pizza with good cheese and sauce blend. Its always busy and the staff are top notch.

Homey and inviting, not fancy. The food was great! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because of the food temp. It was not piping not hot and became cold quickly once it sat at the table. Otherwise a delicious meal. We will be back!

I liked the place overall. Friendly, fast, good customer service, huge portions. Pizza was my favorite. Sausage roll was very good. Veal parmigiana was frozen and fried, nothing special. Tiramisu very good. Fast service. Good location. Saw some real Italians eating here.

I am surprised I have not reviewed Italian Delight. We have been getting pizza here for years and it never disappoints. The ordering process can be slow if there is a long line, but the thin New York style pizza is great. Definitely one of the best pizzas in Kansas City.

This is my favorite pizza in town and they offer it by the slice! Great food, great value! We dine here almost weekly as a quick and casual night out.

Take-out orders can be an experience(bad) when they’re busy. They run all the dine-in and take-out business through a single cashier who is also taking phone orders. When they’re busy it’s just too much for one person to do well. Last week they left me waiting on an order that was ready and sitting on the oven. This week they got our call-in order wrong and then took a half-hour to find 3 pieces of cheese pizza. It’s almost as frustrating as trying to park at Mission Beach on a weekend.

Italian Delight is simple, solid, good food. I have not found an Italian restaurant in town that I have loved for a very long time and have found that Italian Delight will satisfy my craving as well as anywhere else in town. It’s not fancy and it is cafeteria style, so do not go here if you’re looking for a fancy dinner out. But if you’re looking for a casual place with good prices and simple, fresh food, give Italian Delight a shot. I’m a huge fan of the pizza, the chicken parmesan and have always been happy with the salads and anti-pasta choices. The dining area is more VFW hall than nice dining room. The staff can be a little crusty but always provide effective and efficient service. It feels like a neighborhood, family business that do a great job of serving it’s community. Go check them out and find out for yourself.

Saw a review lady was complaining this isn’t the same food or owners as the fine dining and thought they were using sysco for the tiramisu. That lady couldn’t be more wrong. She has been eating frozen deserts and frozen italian deserts from the price club for to long. We have been coming for many years, I actually ate at the fine dining establishment they owned with my father that now loves to come with me for maCome ny years, It was an awesome restaurant, and these guys continue to have awesome food. I had the veal parm it was the best i have ever had it. My dad asked and they are doing a new way of frying it daily it is amazing, They always had very top quality veal but the frying technique makes it amazing. I also love the veal hero, no one else has a sandwich like that with real veal. The cheesecake is amazing. only other cheesecake i have had that tastes like theirs is the version i had at the Carnegie deli in New York. They have one of a kind New York Pizza, made by the owner from Brooklyn who really takes passion and pizza making is an art form for which he paints his masterpiece for everyone to enjoy. My cousin recently wanted to take us to Grimaldi’s that opened up out south at 135th at the Praire Fire Development. He used to work in Arizona and said the Grimaldi’s there was his favorite pizza and they had one in vegas at the Venetian. The pizza was horrible, maybe some of their other locations around the country are good, and the owner of Italian Delight told us their is a Grimalid’s in Brooklyn, but you don’t have the original family owner making pizzas in Brooklyn for over 30 years, making your pizza, you have some people that look like they were from a freakshow and on heavy drugs trying to spin a towel to learn to spin the pizza. I was telling my dad it wouldn’t be any good the only real New York Pizza in Kansas City is Avelleutos Italian Delight, he agreed but my cousin kept raving about it it peaked his interest. We ate pizza at Pizzaland that was featured on the Sopranos, and Italian Delight pizza is better, we have eaten at a few other real pizza places in New york, and this the best New York or any other style pizza you can get in Kansas City, my dad saw them making a pie today and he noticed the put on the Extra Virgin Olive Oil, he didn’t know they did that but he learned that technique from the old Italian Gardens, the owner used to make him a pizza with olive oil that uncle slick made, i had the Italian Gardens pizza it was good, but nothing like Italian Delight Come get the Veal Parm, get a Hero, The meatballs are amazing, get the best pizza of your life made by the owner that puts real passion into his pizza, this is a lost art in the restaurant world of today and people should really appreciate the opp to have the owner make your pizza. Most places are kids with no clue how to do anything or some cheap foreign chefs that don’t know how to cook working for a corporate chain Get the best and forget about it !!! Come to Italian Delight

The cheese pizza is always fantastic! The olive and the artichoke salads are a must! Actually, ALL of their salads are a must! You get to see the pizzas being made in front of you, which is always fun! I absolutely love this restaurant and my family does too!

My god, the food here is disgusting. We used to love their higher end restaurant, Il Trullo, when it was still open. The lasagna was the best I’d ever had and that was the lamest thing on the menu. The pasta fagoli was also excellent, and their tiramisu was made in house. I was craving their caponata pizza and thought maybe it could be had at the Italian Delight location. No such luck, so we ordered all the other items I mentioned. I was floored by how cheap and nasty it all was. Nothing was made the same and that tiramisu is from Sysco. I can’t tell you how disappointing it was. :(

Today was my Gluten Cheat day, I only get 1 per week even though I know I’ll pay the price tomorrow. Anyways I decided to try this little joint out. I was really impressed with their prices $ 2.19 for a slice of Cheese Pizza, $ 5.09 for a Full order of Spaghetti with sauce $ 2.30 for a house salad, etc. You get the idea… The thin crust cheese pizza reminded me of D’bronx it was just ok to me, the Spaghetti was nothing special, better than Buca, but not as good as Mario’s in Westport, the garlic bread was just ok as well, the salad dressing was just ok I think it would be better if they added more vinegar, the real star of the meal was their Thick Crust Delight Pizza I got mine with green peppers, onions, pepperoni, and black olives. It’s a good 1.5″ thick, maybe I was digging it so much because I miss bread, either was it was Good!

I found it a little unusual, but you walk by the counter and place your order at the register. I ordered a delight pizza slice, a salad, and a drink for a total of about $ 8.50. My salad was delivered to my table in about three minutes, and my pizza slice arrived about five minutes later. My dinner salad had a reasonable variety of veggies, and a tasty dressing. My thin crust delight pizza slice was generously-sized, and had an abundance of toppings on a delicious crust. The dining area was nicely decorated, and clean, while the service was just good. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Love this place! We just moved about 30 minutes away and have ate here once a week. They have the best Italian food and the prices are great! The sausage rolls and chicken parmigiana are to die for! Can’t stay away from this place.

Bad service, mediocre food. They deceive you into thinking this a family restaurant– but, it is really just a way for them to buy more Ducatti motorcycles. The gal at the cashier station was particularly unfriendly. They actually told us they were out of fettuccini noodles. I know this happens– but they weren’t even the least bit apologetic, and to add salt to the wound they said it was against policy to add mushrooms to the dish. Look for fast food Italian… it would be an upgrade. Hard to imagine going back– especially with D’Bronx right around the corner

This place is awesome. We used to get take out from here when we lived in Mission but we moved 14 years ago and haven’t been back. We went back Saturday night with my sister’s family. My family of 3 had no issues — our food was great, everything came quickly as ordered. The Stromboli is ridiculously good and the marinara sauce is amazing. My sister’s family of 4 had more issues. All 4 of their orders came out at different times. Her son’s pizza came out first, 5 minutes later her husbands calzone, almost 20 minutes later her and her other son’s pasta dishes. She asked for bread but never got it. So the service was a bit lacking but the food was great. I promise I’ll be back if only for the stromboli!

As good as it gets for what it is, which is a mom n’ pop style Italian lunch counter in a not-so-heavily Italian place. If I want a satisfying plate of pasta without heating up my kitchen, quick and easy, it’s the place for me. Not fancy, just filling, tomato-ey, and good. I got chicken parm atop spaghetti last time I was there, and it was golden fried goodness. I’d skip the garlic cheese bread, as it was a small amount and nothing special, and just go with the bread basket bread. Cafeteria-style service, but quick, efficient, and satisfying. I’ve not had their pizza, but the pastas and Stromboli are nice and comfort-foody.

This place is awesome! I little gem in a strip mall. I try to always go somewhere twice before writing such a rave review(for consistency reasons)… and I have got to say, this place has been top-notch both times. Italian Delight will be added to my go-to restaurants. I love their calzones. Perfectly cooked with a great shell. The crust is light, chewy and not too doughy. The insides of the calzone, plus the sauce that is served on the side is a perfect compliment. They have great salad options(cucumber/tomato, artichoke, olive, and many more) The prices are incredibly reasonable and I have had friendly service each time I have been there.(I got take out twice— once call ahead and once walk-in and order)

Walked in, got a greeting from one of the cooks behind the counter and that was the end of the good service. My greeting from the young lady at the cashier was for here or take out. It may just be a personal thing but I believe in giving the customer some sort of greeting. I ordered a Calzone which I was informed that it could only accommodate 3 toppings. I requested more toppings which I was willing to pay for but I was advised that the more toppings I chose the less cheese they would be able to use. I uploaded a picture of my calzone which look a lot more like a Spanish empanada. There was a huge gap as an interior and the sauce was nothing to brag about. I ate a few bites in the hopes that the taste would help me overlook the sight to no avail. Thankfully no one asked me how my meal was avoiding an embarrassing position to be put in. Will avoid this place next time I am in Kansas.
