Love Dr. Nnabue. I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years and I’ve never been able to see better. The staff is always friendly but constantly changing. The words out now though so the wait can be a little long.

The A/C was not on and I was told this was usually the case. The chairs(similar to conference room chairs) in the waiting area are placed with their backs together. Therefore every time someone lifted their arm to place it on the back of their chair they hit me. Finally the results of my exam were not explained adequately. After the doctor performed my exam, he walked me out to the waiting area and then forgot that he didn’t show me the results of the Optos/Optomap machine. This portion of the exam was $ 39 and not covered by my insurance. Dr. Nnaube told me I needed glasses after I asked him. He didn’t volunteer/relay any information. He printed out my prescription and handed it off to someone else. This person was personable and well dressed, but was unable to tell me my vision acuity(20/??) or when I should wear my glasses(all the time, only for reading, when driving at night etc.

Let me start by saying that when I first started going to Visual Eyes about 15 years ago, it was Lake Arbor Vision, it was a wonderful place with a great variety of frames to choose from style and price wise. Dr. Nnaube was a great doctor and very attentive to your vision and I went to my annual visits faithfully. As the years passed, I noticed that the quality of care went down. This was mainly due to the staff. Dr. Nnaube opened new locations and was beginning to spend more time at his Clinton Maryland location, without his guidance, the staff was very inefficient and not knowledgeable about the various insurance and what was covered. There were several times when I had to request refunds for lenses that I was charged for that was covered by insurance. I stopped going altogether, when the staff became increasingly ignorant, rude and uncaring. Fast forward 5 years to now. I was in total shock when I entered this office. They«remodeled» and I use this term loosely because this office looks a mess. I received another shock when I noticed that all of the frames were locked up, meaning that they were not only locked in cabinets but locked onto the display, which means that in order to try on a frame while you wait, you have to get one of staff to unlock them. Well good luck with that! Trying to get the attention of the staff, while they argue with patients about any and everything is slim to none. I heard more confidential or private information than I care to remember at this time. My exam went well. They were thorough and that is why they get one star. It’s now 3 weeks later and i am still waiting for my glasses. When I called to check on them, it took them 15 minutes to find the order and then used the excuse that because they are rimless it will take another 2 weeks. I will never go to this place again. It has gone completely down the tubes and until Dr. Nnaube hires better staff, he will continue to lose patients that care about quality. What was once a classy place for your vision needs has turned into the McDonalds of eye care. At Visual Eyes, you do not get what you pay for because for the price of the frames he offers, you should get caring, knowledgeable staff, but what you get is ignorance and incompetence.
