Came here based on the Unilocal reviews. If all the members of your party are over 21, you can sit in the lounge. The lounge has live music. The night I was there, they had country music. I’m usually not a fan of country music, but the band that night was decent. The service here is a little slow. Not sure if they were understaffed, or if our waitress was just slow. The bartender had our beers ready, but the waitress took a while to serve it. we sat so close to the bar, I could have just reached over and get it myself. The food is decent here as well. I had the chicken diablo as my entrée. If the service was a little better, I would bump this up to 4 stars.

Great local place for dinner while visiting Moab. We took the entire family there for a meal and we were really satisfied with the quality and presentation of the food. Lots of choices and some exotic dishes too. Great appetizers and entrees. My wife and I tried the buffalo meatloaf and our song tried the elk stew. They were super tasty and the portions were large. Worth a try the next time you’re in Moab.

Great steakhouse and a relaxing atmosphere after a day of hiking. Most items on the menu are cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The bartenders and servers were amazing and attentive. I am giving them 3 stars just because both times I have been there they were severely understaffed and the hostess was unorganized and ditzy. I had requested to be seated in the bar, each time I was told there would be a 30 minute wait even though there were open tables.(no server for the open tables) however as I sat in the lobby I watched other customers walk into the bar and occupy the empty tables for over 45 minutes. If your going to make customers wait for the bar you need to make EVERY customer wait for the bar not just the ones you see walk in. If I was a business owner I would have sat us at the unstaffed tables and let us at least order a drink. We could have racked up a nice bar tab for the bartender and been perfectly happy waiting for our server to arrive. But I guess that is why I don’t own a business, that would make to much sense.

Yes, their steak is good. But no, it is not worth $ 35.00! Buck’s was always a favorite of mine when I lived in Denver in the early 2000’s and ate here — often! I was always obsessed with their cowboy rub! It is just not the same. Portion was Largs and it was good, but way overpriced. Service was friendly, bread was good, salads yummy.

I stayed at the Portal RV resort close by and decided to come here for a nice juicy steak. Man, I was so disappointed. I paid top dollar for a gourmet steak and it was nothing of a sort. Our waitress was nice but that simply was not enough for me, when I pay over $ 35 for a steak I expect to be wowed and I left feeling underwhelmed without a doubt. Nothing special here folks.

I found this restaurant on Unilocal. We made reservations and had zero wait. Our service was wonderful. She was attentive and accommodating. She even asked the chef to make something special for me because I like spicy food. I had the Bajio. It was made by a master, I tell you! It was one one the best dishes I have ever had in my life. My husband first ordered the special T– Bone $ 38. It was tough. So he told our lovely waitress and she quickly got something else for him. His second request was this amazing lamb dish. It melted in his mouth. He was over the moon about it. The kids had grilled cheese. We were all very happy. Everything was homemade and made with love. They have a homemade ginger ale that is yummy too! I can not say enough good things… It was great! If we are ever back in Moab, we will be eating here again. It was really special.

Stopped in for dinner after a 4 hour drive to Arches NP, when a good, hot meal was much needed. When we arrived we were quickly seated in the patio. I believe we were the only people in the restaurant at the time so we were unsure of how the food was going to be. Overall everything was very pleasant. The patio has a nice desert atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Southwest Pasta and the Mac and Cheese. The Southwest Pasta, in a cilantro pesto, was pretty amazing. Highly recommend it. The Mac and Cheese, was also quite good, but not as much as the Southwest Pasta.

Unsure what to order but the Buffalo meatloaf sounded delicious and was recommended by our waiter Kevin. My husband ordered the elk stew. Started off with the artichoke crevice which was a different twist on the artichoke dip theme, but was delicious. The entrees were filling, delicious and accompanied by a warm sourdough bread. A nice nice Sauvignon Blanc was all that was needed to round it out… Kevin was attentive but not intrusive, a great waiter !! With the wonderful live music on the patio, the food and service, we had a great night. I highly recommend Bucks Grill House in Moab.

I arrived on Monday at 6:00 pm and was seated promptly. It was a wait before the server showed up at my table to check on me or provide water. I ordered the elk stew for $ 17. Fresh bread was served and it was excellent and straight from the oven. The stew was well made with carrots, potato, tender elk pieces, other bits and goodies, and excellent gravy. The portion was large and filling and I definitely recommend it. As an aside, I noted they have steak for $ 34 and charge an extra $ 3 if you want seasoning on it. I have seen that twice now in Moab and think the restaurants should be embarrassed to charge you for seasoning. The atmosphere was casual but quite nice. Soft, nice, big-band and jazz background music. Quiet even in the bar area with concrete floors. Service was efficient and pleasant and the food arrived quickly. The iced tea was $ 3.50 and was fresh and refilled. They have wifi available but do not accept Amex. Buck’s is very pleasant and a good choice if you don’t mind the prices.

Angel our server was terrific. Their special drink that she suggested was a Margarita with an inverted Corona. I had the buffalo meatloaf which is a house specialty and beautify prepared. My wife had the duck tamales which she loved. Price is very fair for the top quality that is served. A must for anyone looking for a comfortable dining experience while wishing top quality food.

Came here because of the good reviews on Unilocal, and we were not disappointed! We sat on the lovely patio out the back — the temperature in late August was perfect and we watched as the sun went down. The menu has lots of gluten free options and I was talked into having the pork chop by the server, instead of the burger because«it’s what we’re known for». What a great decision! Thank you Lee, you were awesome! The pork chop was delicious and was the most succulent, delicious and flavoursome I’ve ever eaten. Mmmm, I’m thinking about it again now. I liked the bandana napkins; a nice cowboy touch!(And yes, they were clean).

Accommodating to gluten and dairy free me! Glendon was an extremely polite waiter. He recommended the blue duck burger and it was delicious! With sweet potato fries and an apple ginger angry orchard hard cider! My boyfriend got the chicken diablo and said it was fantastic! He also had a margarita, which I also tasted and it was great! We sat on the patio near the water fountain. It was lovely! Not many other people in there but it was a Thursday at 6:30. Waters were kept full and we weren’t forgotten about! Overall great experience!

Decided to give this place a shot! I was skeptical coming in because our waitress gave a slightly hostile vibe… But the food was surprisingly good. We had the Buffalo meatloaf –nice flavor, not much to place it apart from other meatloaves I’ve had though. Baby back ribs –a bit pricy, but the full rack was enough for two. Meat was tender and the house barbecue sauce went well with it. Chicken diablo –chicken was well cooked and the diablo sauce complemented it well. Did not like the bandanas they gave us for napkins, felt dirty and cheap Waitress’ hands were not clean. Otherwise okay experience.

Good service and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. And the food is spectacular! We started out with a duck tamale and it was soooo good. Husband had macaroni and cheese with mixed game meat in it. He really enjoyed it. I had the elk stew served with mashed potatoes and horseradish cream. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It had a comforting gamey flavor(which I’m obviously a fan of). And the horseradish cream complimented it perfectly. We also got a side order of duck bacon.because.well.where else can you get duck bacon? It was good. I would definitely come back to this place!

I got a waiter who was nice but didn’t know much. I had to ask for the specials cuz I read it quickly at the front and just wanted my memories refreshed, but he missed the one I wanted but forgot. I ordered a catfish burger special, and I was sad. Especially when the tall brunette waitress who is a different level of professionalism(she was seriously trained in a Beverly Hills restaurant I think), was offering the specials to another customer and I heard the one that I wanted. Womp womp. My catfish burger came: good. For $ 2 addl bucks I replaced the side with blue cheese mashed potatoes: good. My hub’s elk stew came: good, had to add salt. The appetizer special was a beet salad: good but as I was eating it I was like it needs a bit of sour. He’s like they forgot the vinaigrette. We asked for it, they forgot it. After vinaigrette, good turns to amazing. Bucks can be amAzing if consistent

This place looks like a upscale restaurant in Moab. It feels traditional and stuff, very old-school American. One of the features of Buck’s Grill House are their gamey meats like Elk and Buffalo. I think that’s a cool gimmick. I tried their Duck Tamale to start, Elk Stew, and their Buffalo Meat Loaf. The Duck Tamales tasted okay. It felt too dry for me. The dried cherry salsa gave it an interesting flavor. The Elk Stew tasted decent. It had parsnips and other root vegetables. The horseradish cream was the best part. It was quite comforting. The Buffalo Meatloaf tasted good as well. It was moist and liked the taste. The food tasted good overall. The service was lacking. It was very slow. That’s one of the reasons I’m giving this place 3 stars. I felt like I spent more time waiting than eating.

This place is ok, it’s good to have a change from all of the bar food served around Moab. The Buffalo meatloaf was a little dry and the Elk Stew was super gamy, both came out super fast. probably sitting in the warmer in back. Portions were large, which is typical for Moab. Service was solid, a little slow on bringing the check, but nothing to complain about. Price was pretty high for Moab, it didn’t feel like a great value. Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back, but it wasn’t horrible.

We love Moab and most of its restaurants — but did not love Buck’s. We have eaten at most of the popular joints in town and thought we’d try someplace new for dinner. Based on our visit, this restaurant not only struggles with an identity crisis, but just does not have food worthy of the prices they charge. Overall, the best part: No wait, good service. And the bread. They have yummy bread! The major dings against them: #1: Food: It just wasn’t good. I rarely say that about restaurants(I’m pretty easy to please as long as it tastes good). But we were just… disappointed. My husband got a buffalo burger and it was terrible. First, the presentation was hideous — they forgot to order his sweet potato fries on time, so the plate was just bare, it was on one of those dingy fast-food spongy buns(even grocery store sesame seed buns look better than this) and it had some gross, wilty looking SHREDDED lettuce on it — they couldn’t even spring for a real head of lettuce? It looked like they’d popped it out of the freezer and hardly done anything else to it. The sweet potato fries — once they got there — were good but it still didn’t make up for the very disappointing burger. We didn’t have really high expectations for a burger, but how can you mess up a burger? I ordered the buffalo meatloaf(which Unilocalers raved about) and it was much better looking, but not much better tasting. It was pretty bland and the texture was mushier than meatloaf should be. Both of us agreed that we had had much better meatloaf just at home. It came served with mashed potatoes that were similarly bland and green beans(which were pretty nice, in a buttery sauce). #2: Prices: Way too expensive for what you get. The portion sizes are a little smaller than you’d want at a steakhouse. Minor dings: #3: Atmosphere: Feels fancy — elegant décor and setup but the food and service is just average. It seems to have an identity crisis, which probably is not its fault, as most tourists probably come in in jeans and hiking shoes. But does anyone else find it strange that the napkins are bandanas? #4: Not kid/baby-friendly: Had a baby with us, and while the place was nearly empty when we got there(5pm), it is so acoustic(fancy cement floor) that any noise above a normal volume just echoed and made us feel like we were bothering the whole restaurant. Sad to say that we probably won’t come here again — even if we had a Groupon.

We had dinner at Moab Grill. It came at a high price($ 100) and failed to deliver. I left hungry. We started with a selection of sausages. Elk, buffalo and wild boar. The Elk was so sour, I couldn’t even swallow the bite I took. Frank was able to try a bite, the rest remained. The boar was decent still too gamey for my liking, the buffalo was the best of the three. Although, I can’t say I liked it. The husband had the daily special which was a buffalo steak with two sides. He had the succotash and mac n cheese. The buffalo had great flavor too bad it was covered in barbeque sauce. The succotash was the highlight. I love duck and couldn’t resist the duck tamales. I was intrigued by the blue cheese and garlic potatoes so I had a side of those as well. The tamales were dry, and any flavor of duck was lost in the adobo sauce and the rice was terribly bland. It wasn’t worth the calories. The potatoes had an odd taste to them, best I can associate it with was a poor quality blue cheese. Neither Frank or I was able to eat them. We chalked this meal up to a bad beat.

After a long day of hiking(and learning that my evil, evil boss had been fired back home), I was ready to celebrate. Craving large doses of meat, I hit Buck’s. First of all, Unilocal had a $ 40 for $ 20 deal. Score! I strolled in ready to celebrate. I sat in the lounge, and my server was a super-super nice guy. I ordered… * Mixed Game Sausage Skewer(grilled boar, elk and buffalo sausages, topped with mustard aioli). Nice in theory, failure in execution. The sausages are *tiny. And they don’t taste all that great. It almost tasted like the meat was off. I figured it was worth the $ 11 because, hey, Unilocal deal! But this is not worth close to that. * Buffalo Burger. The star of my meal. This was cooked to perfection. And the FRIES! My God, the fries. Best French fries I’ve had in years. Whatever you do, get the fries. * Flourless chocolate cake. I almost never order dessert, but again, Unilocal deal! This was kind of a disappointment. My server described it as fudge-like, but fudge isn’t a dry-ish, crumbly mess. Granted, I ate every bit of it, but I wouldn’t order it again. My total bill was around $ 40. But… the Unilocal deal does NOT cover alcoholic drinks. So I was on the hook for my $ 7 glass of wine. Just know that going in. Judging by my burger and the fries, I bet Buck’s has some amazing menu items I missed out on. I’d give them another shot. The warm atmosphere and quality service should put Buck’s on your radar. … and the fries!!!
