This is one of my go-to lunch spots. I always eat the Chili Verde off the lunch menu with flour tortillas. Why don’t I try something else? Not necessary, the chili verde is that good. Also, the salsa is fantastic! The lunch service is usually very good and the lunch portion is just enough and I am usually in and out very quickly. If you are looking for a taco bell or the common«tex-mex» type of mexican you probably won’t like this place. If you like something a bit different then give this place a try.

Very good, busy for a Wednesday night. The food was well prepared. I had the Seafood Enchiladas they were full of shrimp and crab, the lobster sauce was a little rich but I expected it to be. My girlfriend had the Jalapeño Pineapple Skewered Shrimp and it was just right with spices. Will definitely come back and recommend it. It is a little pricey though.

Food wasn’t bad. Just too expensive for the quality. Place is very very simple. No decoration. Drinks are expensive.

Taco Tuesday is amazing, almost a weekly thing for my friends and I. Good Magaritas, great tasting tacos. Very enjoyable Tuesday night highlight.

Pretty, pretty good. The complimentary salsa is quite delicious. I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas with corn tortillas and black beans, and enjoyed it immensely. This was my first visit and I will definitely eat there again.

Enjoyable, crowd-pleasing Mexican-inspired restaurant. Guacamole is good, so is frozen margaritas. Atmosphere is nice and inviting too. Last time we went, our server was so friendly and nice. Although I do believe that some of their menu items are grossly overpriced for what it is, we go to Fuego’s occasionally because it’s a good place to meet up with friends over some drinks and greasy food.

Let me start off by saying, I have only gotten take out from here once. Two chicken tacos, chips and salsa, and a cheese dip. $ 30 with tip. Yeah kinda expensive. But I was up for it! I walked away thinking, this is going to be the best mexican food ever for that price! And on some points, I wasn’t let down. Lets start with the good: the cheese dip was spectacular. Really good. And it was a big cheese dip. I was able to eat it over the course of two days. The chips were really fresh and warm out of the bag. That was nice. The negative? My chicken tacos were just alright. Nothing to write home about. The chicken was good but lacked flavor or any memorable consistency. Now I will say that most nights I ride by there are tons of people in the parking lot and it always looks busy. So they must be doing something right. The ambience is nice inside, the décor is pretty and the lighting is nice. I do wish that they had a better system for pick up orders. There was an awkward«hostess» standing at a podium when you walk in and she acted like she had NOIDEA what I was talking about when I said I was there for a to go order. I ended up awkwardly walking to the bar and flagging down the bartender. She was nice but disappeared for a long time while I waited. I would have loved a beer while I waited. All in all, the cheese dip was the salvation of my meal. If they were to get friendlier staff, better prices, and a little better food, I would be a regular. Especially since I live just around the corner.

My husband got the seafood enchiladas and I had the chicken with white cheese/sour cream(I forgot the technical name). Both were absolutely amazing! The seafood enchiladas’ sauce is so rich and flavorful and the chicken enchiladas are packed with meat. The meals came with corn cake which was very delicious. We also ordered the table side guacamole and loved it as well. I am from Texas and have been disappointed with nearly every«Mexican» restaurant in Alabama so far, I am so glad I finally found one that stacks up to the ones from home!

Impressed with the food and the service. I had the burrito San Diego and it was perfect. The salsa is probably in the top three that I have ever had. They have it to go as well… That might be dangerous?!? Enjoy!

This place is very average. There is nothing exceptionally good about the food, but the atmosphere is good and the restaurant is clean. The service is average too. If you are getting the margarita get the frozen one, margarita on the rocks is pretty bad here

Very good presentation… Good Salsa and great spicy cheese dip. Had seafood enchiladas and Conquistador burrito with chicken. Sides were better quality than your run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Unique atmosphere and menu… Going to try the Carne Asada next time, that is a true test for a great mexican restaurant… Will check in after next visit.

I am giving it a 3 stars review. Atmosphere was nice, service was okay. I was wanting more of the sour cream sauce covered in jack cheese. Enchiladas were a little dry. The search continues for a good sour cream enchiladas here in the Deep South !

The food just isn’t as good as you hope it is. Kind of a cool atmosphere, decent people and seemingly a good place to drink but falls far short on the culinary side of things. It’s not that it’s awful but it’s definitely not great.

Tried Fuego for the first time last night. I’d heard plenty of good things about it from a coworker so a group of us went for dinner to celebrate his 30 year anniversary with the company. Our group of 12 had a reservation for 5pm, and there was no competition for parking or seating. Plenty of parking all the way around the building, up one side(right off upham st.) and down the other, as well as in front(right off dauphin). Seemed like a slow night, but we were quickly brought beverages and complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh but the salsa was bland. no salt and no heat to speak of. We had the guacamole, queso blanco, and buffalo wings as appetizers. The guac and queso were a great improvement over the salsa! Very flavorful! The wings were good too, not breaded and fried long enough to cook a good portion of the fat away, just the way I like em. The buffalo sauce had good heat as well. I ordered the grilled salmon with the pineapple jalapeño sauce on the side. It came with rice and grilled veggies. The veggies were a bit soggy, and the rice clumpy and overdone, but a splash of Cholula hot sauce made them good enough to eat. The salmon was very good, if perhaps cooked 30 seconds too long… just a little bit dry. Flavorful and the pineapple jalapeño sauce was tangy, sweet, and a little hot all in one. Only thing I didn’t like is the salmon was served with the skin on. I don’t like to scrape fish off a skin or peel it off and leave an unappetizing lump on the side of the plate. Fuego has a good selection of authentic mexican beers, including my favorite, bohemia. Unfortunately, wearing a shirt with the company logo on it, it was non-alcoholic beverages for me. The waitress did an excellent job keeping my unsweet iced tea topped off. The reasons I can’t give a fifth star on this trip: the soggy/overdone sides, lackluster salsa, and even though we were a large group, it took about 15 minutes from the time the first entrée was served until the last one was served. Our one waitress made 4 or 5 trips to the kitchen to bring all the entrees out when the restaurant was definitely not crowded and there were plenty of employees standing around in the back chatting when they could have been helping bring our meals out. As a result some of the early entrees were nearly cold when we began eating once everyone was served. I’m looking forward to coming back alone or with a much smaller group to try some of the other dishes that looked great in front of my coworkers as they did on the menu!

Great Mexican restaurant in Mobile. Food is awesome. Quest is some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had and would recommend the fajitas, fish tacos, ribeye, enchiladas, and taco soup. Quesadillas are also pretty good.

I love Fuego for when I am feeling like upping my Mexican food game. I have tried the combination platter, which I always order so I can get the Mexican corn cake. I also love the warm Fuego salad. Their salsa has so much flavor as well. I can’t forget the table side guacamole! Very yummy, but a little overpriced.

Worth the drive and experience. The table-side guacamole is to die for, as are the seafood enchiladas. Atmosphere and service were good as well. The freshness of the meal rated four stars.

I ate here by the recommendation of some fellow Elite Unilocalers. I am glad I did! We arrived at 17:30 on a Saturday night, there is ample parking space 360 degrees around the restaurant. Be careful of the slope just northwest, you’ll bottom out on the road. We were seated quickly, but by 18:30 the waiting list started. For starters, I ordered a frozen margarita and my wife got a frozen piña colada. The chips and salsa that was served were excellent. The chips were fresh with just the right about of salt and the salsa was mmmmmm good. Our servers name was Daniel and along with the info from Unilocal reviews and Daniels recommendations we begin to order. For an appetizer we got the El Matador shrimp which was jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon, jalepeño, and gouda. I read on the menu that the guacamole was prepared at the table side. We did not order it but the table next to us did… and the server showed up with 4 halves of avocado and BAM she made it right there. Can’t get any fresher than that. For entrees, my wife ordered the seafood enchiladas with rice and black beans. I ordered the banana leaf wrapped Dorado Vera Cruz with rice and pinto beans which had Conecuh sausage added to it. Each plate came with tamale dough as a side. Mmmmmm Fuego’s had a few choices on there dessert menu but we were too full to try any, maybe next visit. Everything was good, this dinner experience was magnificent. I would definitely recommend Fuegos. We will visit again soon!
