Kai Restaurant

I’d like to give better than 3 because the food really is great. But, we waited about 10 min for our sweet teas after offering them. Then we ordered 2 meals and asked for crab Rangoon’s. Took about 25 min for her plate to show up. She got the chicken tempura. The only plate they brought. We could see our Rangoon’s sitting at the prep bar. Been there for about 5 or so minutes. Then they tossed on some parsley or what ever green garnish they used then it came to the table. My plate still not in site. My wife quit eating because I wasn’t. My food come out 6 mins after hers. I timed it. By then I was out of tea. I tried her good and it was great. I took my first bite of the chicken on my bowl of Ramen. I don’t know what kind of meat it was. I ordered the chicken flavor. It tasted like grisly pork-​chop to hard to chew. It was nasty. The mushrooms were like rubber. But the soup was really good. I finally got a drink refill half way through my dinner. That’s why I gave a 3 with great food.

I was intrigued when I saw this place, it has been awhile since I last visited but when I went I had their shrimp that was the only thing I recognized. Believe it or not they were actually delicious. So to change things up a bit, try them.

Best sushi my wife and I have had in Mobile. Our new favorite place. We will be back soon. Highly recommend.

We love sushi so we thought we try it! It was delicious! The display of the food was cute and the boat it was served on was awesome!!! We called a head just to see and they were really nice! Decorated for holidays! We got the gyoza was on the house!!! Everything was good!

We stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed it. My wife had the chicken teriyaki and I went with the pork. Both were really good and we’ll definitely be back. Service was great as well. Sushi was really fresh.

Excellent place to dine. Great health score 97. I have enjoyed every visit. Staff is very friendly and atmosphere is relaxing.

Kai has the best sushi I’ve eaten anywhere in Mobile. I’ve recently tried their ramen and fried rice as well and they are absolutely delicious. The staff is always friendly and pleasant. Quiet atmosphere, great for couples or large parties. I highly recommend Kai for any occasion.

Another Gem! The food is delicious, the restaurant is quiet, low key and very welcoming. The waitress we had radiated wanting to please. She was remarkable. When you encounter this type of interface in this day and age I find it not only a welcome surprise but you realize how much you miss it when it is not available. The food is clearly upper end for this type of food. I highly recommend this place. It will gather a large following in time as it is a very special place. Their choice of sushi, etc is unique. Their prices are in par with other restaurants of this type. I only hope you have the same type of service we had. This was really very special. I have no idea what her relationship is to the owner, manager etc but I can only hope they appreciate her. We tipped well as a result and she deserves it. Having worked as a waiter in college I can be very critical of poor service but when I see this type of individual my faith is renewed. She made for a memorable lunch.
