The best bar IMHO in Mobile Alabama! I love the music, I love the bartenders and I love the crowd. Always a good time to be found at Veets!

Awesome dive bar! My fiancé and I went in for live music and a few drinks on Friday night and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Beer was cold, the house band was fantastic and the bartender, Kim, was so friendly! We ordered a white pizza(YUM!!) for a late dinner and while we waited we people watched. Several other folks were eating and drinking their fill, dancing on the dancefloor, chair-dancing and singing along, trying to make love connections… We will definitely be back!

Stumbled on this place looking for food after a show at the Civic Center. Cover band is nice. Bar tenders were nice. You must try the lemon pepper wings.

To Adam C who wrote the review about us not being service dog friendly. I never respond to someone’s opinion. I feel everyone is entitled to one and I hope to use their opinion in a positive way and try to better our business. This was not an opinion and not how our conversation went. Shame on you Adam C :( The truth of our conversation is that we DO and have in the past allowed service dogs in Veets. I was asked if someone could bring their dog in a costume for Halloween. I asked what kind of service dog he was and was told a search and rescue dog.(No need of rescuing at Veets) I told him we DID allow dogs in that are assisting someone with special needs, but that the customer keep their dogs safety in mind of ANY crowded bar on a holiday due to broken glass on the floor or women in heels stepping on their service dog’s feet or tail due to big crowds. And yes, it’s Halloween, people will be partaking in alcoholic beverages(in many bars) and not as light on their feet. As for making us sound not friendly toward dogs in general, you forgot to mention Veets participated in Woofstock(an outdoor event in a park with no glass) and raised $ 4000 ourselves for our furry companions. Sorry you couldn’t add your search and rescue dog to your costume at Veets. I wish you and your loyal companion a safe and happy Halloween. Gina Jo

The bartender was out in left field. The bar was empty but for some reason she got drinks for the guy on my left and the guys on my right but totally ignored me holding up my cup. If it hadn’t been for the guy on my left I probably wouldn’t have gotten another drink. Then she poured me a double, I guess so she wouldn’t have to come back? Pizza was ok. The sauce was a little too tart/sour for me but the dough was chewy and the amount of cheese was right on.

Here for the NAIA tennis tournament. Southern hospitality was great. Good to have a Yuengling by the bottle due to the fact that the Midwest doesn’t supply it. This has been my third year for Nationals. Thank you for a great night of pool and Yuengling to celebrate my senior year of college and overall tennis career. — Nebraska

Good local bar to go watch the game and have a beer and some fries. Locals hang out for sure hence if u are from out of town, the bar tender with the big chest knows it and treats u as such.

Every city needs a Veets. Warm, friendly, and fun. The bartender overheard me and my friends sing and arranged for the house band to take a break so we could do an acapella set. Bucket list item checked off!

How can you NOT dig a place that has redneck karaōke every Tuesday night? On my frequent travels to Mobile(and stays at the neighboring Hampton Inn) it’s easy to head next door to Veet’s for a cold beer and some local flavor. When I arrived here on a Tuesday evening for the karaōke night, I ran into some of the funniest entertainment around. I have never heard so many people sing so many depressing country songs in one night. The beer is cold, the people are friendly and the karaōke is depressingly funny on Tuesday nights. Go.

Sitting at the bar as I write this. Good atmosphere with live music. Not incredibly packed, and they have great service. The bartender is very outgoing and friendly. I would recommend this place for a drink to relax and unwind from long work days.

I always feel totally at home when I walk into Veet’s… the doorman is lovely and laid back and the bartenders are attentive. If you’re looking for some schmoozy spot don’t go here, Veet’s is a dive bar with a really local atmosphere and you get the sense that most people in there are regulars who are always friendly with the travellers that come in from the surrounding hotels. Its kind of dirty and old and dank and the walls are covered with photos of the regulars doing kinda shady things– but personally, that’s what I look for in a bar! My favorite thing about Veet’s is probably the reasonably priced beer, and the pool table. They also have a karaōke night there(I think on Thursdays) but only go if you’re a fan of singing that’s so godawful it’s awesome.

BEst place to be on Joe Cane Day and Mardis Gras or just about anytime for mucsic. Good pub food. Very friendly and fast bartenders. Big spacious place with live music most of the week. Heck it feels like my home town pub. 3 years in a row for a week in Mobile. It feels like visiting old friends. It is the place I’d like to be today.

«Where everybody knows your name…» Just a stones throw from Dauphin St and literally stumbling distance from the Renaissance Hotel where we stayed. Being in town for the Senior Bowl 3 years running, it’s good to know that there’s a place to go where you receive that good down south hospitality. With generous pours of your choice and ice cold beer served by the energetic likes of Gina, Robyn and Heather, you can’t go wrong. Couple that up with decent late night bar food and a very good house band and you have the winning combination for not only a great time but one that seems to pass by way too quickly. An added plus this year was the fact the Mardi Gras overlapped the football game which meant we were there for the bead throwing parades that go right past the front door. Long may this place live to entertain!
