World Gym

BEWARE. I signed up as a member on a month to month contract because I informed them I would be moving in a few months. I went into the gym and canceled my membership. Over a year later I find that I have an outstanding amount of three months dues in collections. Called and spoke with the manager who informed me I would just have to pay it unless I could find the copy of my cancellation form. So think twice before signing up.

I would give 0 stars if it were an option. The gym was never staffed when it was supposed to be which made it impossible to use the tanning or receive the instruction I was told would be a part of my membership, not to mention that it was incredibly unsafe. Now I am still having the monthly fee deducted from my checking account 3 months past my membership’s expiration, no one is there during the afternoon hours (immediately after I get off work at 5, because I cannot take time off to deal with this) nor will they return my phone calls or email. I am much happier with Planet Fitness which is a MUCH BETTER gym with current equipment, well staffed, and great customer service.
World Gym is a mistake and a waste of time and money.

Smaller «neighborhood» gym that has all the weights and cardio equipment I need. There is a personal trainer on hand if you need one-​on-​one training for the extra push. The gym manager is very friendly and helpful with any nutrition or equipment questions you may have. I have been coming here about 3 years and have been very pleased.

My new place to work out
This gym is clean and cheaper than the other local places. Very nice equipment and I love the staff there.
Treadmills, elliptical, free weights, tv’s, and always open. ²⁴⁄₇ access is perfect for me and close to where I live.

I stopped in for a day pass since I was traveling for work. It was only $ 5 for the day which is such a good price (Gold’s charges $ 15). It’s pretty small (no squat rack or benches) but they do have Dumbbells that go up to 100 and plenty of cardio equipment.
The staff there was super nice and stayed a little late for me to get there and pay to lift.
So despite the lacking of a squat rack, I enjoyed my lift. Can’t beat that price!!!

The Springhill Fire Station is located at 700 Museum Drive near the municipal park in west Mobile.
The WORLD GYM representative gave the firefighters a small pamphlet offering all fire department employees a special promotion for a one year enrollment for $ 200.00 if paid in full.
The one year paid in full membership for $ 200.00 normally costs $ 299.40 for the year World Gym membership if paid on a month to month basis.
WORLD GYM is located at 1616 Government Street near the downtown area of Mobile and has dumbbells up to 100 pounds.
WORLD GYM offers the following two types of work out equipment strength and cybex equipment, cable and Smith machines.
The WORLD GYM is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for all members to be able to schedule time in their busy work week to accommodate any type work out need.
