I have taken my kids here for years because they have always had the best kids activities! I have also watched it become a huge over priced money maker. I have two kids, one is 4 and the other 2! I was told I only had to pay for my 4 year old, but never told I had to pay for an adult to take my daughter on anything. She rode the cow train and tried the bouncy but when we went to do the huge slide I was told she couldn’t go by herself and if I didn’t have a wristband I couldn’t take her! We also got there an hour before closing not realizing it and we paid full price for a wristband! Had I known they were closing in an hour I wouldn’t have stayed! We didn’t get to do everything that we paid for, and the girl never told us they were closing in an hour! It’s over priced, and way too commercialized now! It’s not the hometown farm it used to be

I would just like to comment on the wonderful, friendly staff at this farm! We searched for the perfect sized tree for our home and came up empty handed in the main field where we were dropped off. But the driver stopped at a different field specifically for us to look for our perfect sized tree that suited our home. We found one right away! We are very grateful to the driver for stopping for us to get one good look at their selection. Thank you very much Hurds Family!

I really loved this farm. Tons of tasty(crunchy, and sweet and/or tart, good size) apples, but you had to walk further back in the orchard to find the dense ones bc all the other front ones were pickes. The trees are fun to climb. Apple launcher and slide rock! Tons of photo ops. Friendly people. Some samples of products, but I wish they sampled the jams/butters/pickles. Market was clean for being a giant barn. Some of the apples were so big, they might as well been mini melons, and they had the cutest lady apples(the super tiny kind), and they were sweet. There were a few bees around when we had lunch on their many picnic tables, but they were the kind of bees that didn’t want to sting you. You could just shoo them away and be fine. Farm animals were nice and didn’t smell too bad. I was slightly disappointed that the homemade apple donuts didn’t taste more like apples, but more just hinted at them, but the texture was more creamy than normal cake donuts were, and our group ended up buying close to two packages a person(each package comes with 5 donuts). They were still realllllly good. I also liked the cold cider.

Good times. Kids had fun on the tractor ride. Unfortunately I saw too many adults stealing apples by the boat loads. Owners need to take control.

Hurds would have gotten more stars in years past, however the farm has become a somewhat of a drag to go to. There were no wagons when we went for pumpkins this year, due to all the wild children running around with them. We left and didn’t buy any pumpkins. I didn’t want to go back for a Christmas tree but my wife insisted… I’m not sure what type of Christmas trees they are selling but the needles made my entire family break out in a rash. Decorating it was not fun, we ended up throwing it out and buying a fake one just a week after we bought it. My wife and I both agree we will not go back there for anything. We stopped going there for apples a while ago after discovering a much better farm somewhere else. What a shame.

I had no idea that I would have so much fun at this farm. Located at almost 2 hours drive form NYC, Hurds farm appeal to all age groups. We went here for apple picking in a big group. It is a decent size farm and the staff was very helpful and helped us navigating the farm. They have a bunch of activities here apart from apple/pumpin picking. They have few small rides for kids and also an amazing Corn Maze. I would come back here!

Hurds Family Farm made me fill like a kid again! I had such a great time on my recent adult outing here. Its such a beautiful well kept farm with so many things to discover and that all ages can enjoy. I personally loved taking a ride on the Cow Train. They have pony rides, animals to feed, pumpkin patch, corn maze, slides and hay rides. Of course lets not forget the apple picking(several types) and the beautiful scenery. So to sum it up… whether you are an child or a kid at heart, you will love this farm!

Fun family farm for the whole troop. They have plenty of activities for everyone including hayrides, apple picking, a pumpkin patch, cow train, corn maze, and apple launcher. They even had some apples left to pick in late Oct, but for the best selection, go earlier in the year. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well as with serving food to a large group. The corn maze could be a bit bigger and better maintained as it was largely trampled down toward the end of the season and apples were pretty picked over, but I’d imagine it’s a different story earlier in the season. Try one of the amazing pumpkin chocolate chip muffins.

Hurd’s gets 2 stars this year…4 stars in past years. This is the first year they are charging $ 12 per person to get onto the site. It doesn’t matter if you don’t want to do the corn maze or petting zoo…$ 12 per person. That’s a whole lot of money when you drop another $ 20-$ 30 on apples, another $ 10 on donuts, items in barn store, hot dogs or drinks. I liked the old way better… pay as you go. I’ll only support farms with pay as you go models. Sorry Hurd’s…you lost a customer.

This is one of the best apple orchards that I’ve been to — and I’ve been to a lot of apple orchards. We drove up from NYC to go picking, and foolishly came rather late in what was a sparse harvest season. Hurd’s was directing people to neighboring fields where the picking was plentiful, but we chose to stay on grounds, because there was so much to do! Live music, corn maze, petting zoo, pony rides, fish feeding, multiple playgrounds, and a GIANTSLINGSHOTFORROTTENAPPLES?! Good fun in the great outdoors. There was one area where Hurd’s fell short– we stood in line for hot food and drinks for 45 minutes before we overheard that apple cider donuts were sold out and wouldn’t be available again for hours. Bummer.

What a waste of time. Drove here from NYC. No pies, hardly any apples, no pumpkins. Paid for a wristband for my daughter to do the«activities» and there was nothing to do. Petting zoo what petting zoo? The two goats behind a fence that has a 6 foot fence over it? Kept running out of apple cider donuts. We waited on the line 3 times. And each time we waited by the time our turn came they were out of donuts… Very very misleading stay away!

What a great find! We sort of happened upon the Hurd Orchard and were very pleasantly surprised! Lot’s of family fun, Loads of apples with many varieties. Easy access and departure. There’s an old family cemetary hidden in the back of the property… very spooky and interesting for the historical buffs! Will be back!

OMG. The apple donuts. This is my 4th year here. It’s a family fun affair with a lot to offer here. Petting zoo, tons and tons of apples, apple slingshot, a tractor ride, and a store for those of you who are too lazy to pick your own apples. It’s a great day trip out of the city and to see open beautiful blue sky. All the staff is friendly and very helpful. They keep adding new things every year(hot dog stand this year) and it’s a nice break. And yes… apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts apple donuts

The kids really enjoyed the farm… it was their first time apple pickin’. We only wish there was food available for the kids but, the group we went with provided sandwiches.
