Dessert Euoropean Cakes and Pastries

Knowing that I don’t care for sweets all that much, especially cakes or pies, my brother surprised me with some fabulous chocolate eclairs from this bakery for my birthday! My brother does not live in Modesto, so he went to Village Baking first because he was familiar with them. He said their eclairs were tiny and very overpriced. Using Unilocal,he found this place and BINGO! Wow! The eclairs were AMAZING! The pastry, the cream & the chocolate was very high quality and OH SO DELICIOUS! :)

They have the best cream puffs, you can choose raspberry, strawberry or apricot. The eclairs are also delicious. Very reasonably priced. I havent tried the other desserts yet but they all look amazing.

My daughter wanted a specific Oreo cookie cake she found on line. She was so happy with the outcome! It was perfect and exactly what she wanted! It was very moist and rich and delicious. First time ordering from this place and will be my go to place from now on! Thank you!

I ordered a wedding cake for 90 people and provided a picture of the cake I wanted and cake plate. The cake was delivered as promised and tasted truly delish! It was better than any cake I’ve ever eaten. I highly recommend!

It was a last-​minute search for a Yule Log Cake and I was so surprised to find one nearby. The man who helped me was extremely polite and even came from behind the counter to open the door for me as I left. I surprised my mother and her husband with the cake, last night. We had an early Christmas celebration, at their home, and the cake was superb! It was decorated beautifully and everyone enjoyed it! The cake and the frosting was flavorful, light and fluffy. Thank you for your convenient location and wonderful dessert! I’ll definitely be a return customer of yours and recommending you highly to others.

This hole in the wall, with lettering that simply says «Dessert» on the outside of the bakery, lies somewhat obscurely in the back of a relatively quiet shopping center on McHenry. Driving by and casting a glance over at it, you might have your view of the bakery obstructed by a local bank.
Anyhoo, once inside here, you notice how small it is & its simplicity. Not much of a selection of sweets, but they all look very appetizing. If I wasn’t a cannoli man, I’d be fairly tempted to try some of the other goodies…
Ok, the cannolis. They have several offered here, from the average size you routinely see sold at other bakeries, to «mini cannolis» that are a mere bite size. I opted for the usual size ones, $ 2.25 each.
Taking a bit into the shell, it easily collapsed and didn’t have a firm bite whatsoever. No revelations flavor wise, either. As to the ricotta filling, it had too much vanilla extract for its own good, with strong traces of lemon juice and the small bits of bittersweet chocolate chips found in most cannoli. Moreover, it was overly runny and oozed out the back as I bit in. Just not acceptable. A cannoli filling must be firm, with a balanced amount of ingredients that don’t attack your tongue individually but together, in harmony.
The outside of said cannoli was dusted with the usual confectioners sugar, but had a dash of chocolate & cherry syrup that made it acceptable for a McDonalds treat but not a bakery. Neither added anything special to the cannoli, only more runniness as I ate, and the maraschino cherry on top would be better served as a garnish for a Manhattan.

We love the chocolate cake, macaroon, profiterole, brownie, lemon cake, cream horn, cream puff, éclair, plus the friendly service. Prices are very reasonably low, so we are a big fan of this bakery.

I had kept passing by this little gem that’s behind my bank and swore that I’d have to visit some day.
so my boyfriend and I decided to pop in and see what delights they had… and oh my gosh! everything looked so good, we decided on two cannoli a pineapple trifle cup and a piece of red velvet cake. The bakery was small but perfect, it reminded me of the European bakeries bake home in London… I say European because of the selection.
Every thing is made there on the premises fresh and totally yummy.
When we got home we inhaled the cannolis then dove into the red velvet cake… Heaven!!! if you don’t mind me saying… a palatable orgasm!
Never have I tasted such as this red velvet cake. oh my! the trifle .well let me just say memories of home made trifles in a British summer.

«dessert» so aptly named really knows the art of desserts. honestly I haven’t had good quality yummies like this here in Modesto or any where to that matter.

Amazing desserts and even more amazing prices! If you don’t look closely you will miss this place but definitely stop in. The desserts are high quality similar to
high end bakeries. The prices however very reasonable. You must stop by!

Great bakery all the cakes are always good. Also takes big orders for events your having.

Went out looking for Espresso Caffe, which is Café Genowa, but found DESSERTS on the way. He serves pastries and desserts, apparently making cakes is the main business, no espresso, that is at Café Genowa, but the brownie is delishious… and many other fancy desserts to buy singlely or in bunches! He said he had been there a year, and since it is behind Compass Bank in a shopping center, the bread outlet is on the end…
I am not a fan of brownies, because they never taste good when bought out, BUT I DO LIKE THIS BROWNIE!!!
