Let me start of by saying its reviews I feel like it’s being to nice. The place is small, for me it’s not really a place I would go sit and eat there. I did see a lot of people come in though. I ordered a two piece with beans and rice and a regular quesadilla. The rice was good the beans had a spicy taste which I feel a lot of people that like spicy food would like. Me I like sweet taste so it didn’t really taste good to me. The chicken is nothing special it’s alright not the best but not the worse. The quesadilla was my favorite I loved it. I would go back to try more stuff and see what else they got. But for my first review here I would say it’s okay. Not bad not great. They people are friendly. I would add that. My review is based on the food I like to eat if you like other types of food like spicy I’m not the guy for you I suggest you try it out and see if you like it.

Waited 50+ minutes. For a taco and a chalupa. The cook was touching his hat and face, and was making his friends orders. People would walk up on the side and ask for food and get special orders out. Food is ok. Not the best. When I asked for a refund, they said«oh we just started making it» … 50 mins later.

By far the best BBQ food in Modesto. They barbecue with wood so the taste is amazing! the portions are good and the owners are always friendly.

Chicken is not my favorite however I do like the chicken from pollo feliz. In the beginning I was a little hesitant to try just because the exterior of the restaurant looked a little funky. I typically order the godorniz in red salsa which is seasoned well. The beans are also well seasoned they have great flavor. The food is not over priced and we always have left overs.

If you want your car broken into and things stolen this is the place to go. A crowd of people and no one heard or seen anything seems bizarre to me! The workers don’t care either they actually smirked at the fact I was robbed. It was a 15 minute tops visit so they may plot their suspects. Be aware !! They really need to invest in cameras and lighting by their parking if they really care about the guests safety or property! Don’t even bother going on the weekends that’s when they do it the most! Tweeker, drug user, and lowlifes weekend job!

Chicken was dry and lacked flavor. It was not seasoned at all, no marinade nothing! The only flavor was the smoke from the wood. Cheap flavorless food. Very disappointing to say the least considering the good reviews.

OH. MY. GAWD!!! I probably eat here 3 times when visiting the family over the span of a weekend. The chicken is incredible and the tortillas are handmade. The salsas are also pretty great. No really, they’re amazing… they have a wide variety ranging from mild to near-death spicy. The owner is sweet, attentive and helpful… just like her staff. In my 87 times eating here, i’ve never experienced that«this chicken was grilled 3hours ago» taste. Totally dig the little restaurant: very swanky with traditional décor, wooden chairs and tall booths. They actually take the time to make«chile de molcajete», which is prepared by hand in a granite pestle and mortar, producing a chunkier salsa. Side Note: They open an after-hours taco truck outside once the restaurant closes. The chalupas are a must.

The giant cylindrical«tank» BBQ out front drew me in, even though the exterior is pretty funky. Inside, it’s lovely, very Mexican feeling. Tables are carved wood brightly painted and overlaid with glass. The BBQ chicken was superb. The BBQ unit is wood fired(looked like they are burning almond). Lunch was a leg quarter, rice and really good beans and a bit of salad, and 4 tortillas, and a drink, all for $ 4.99 – a delicious, inexpensive lunch, They also offer carne, carnitas, and chuleta, but I haven’t had the chance to sample those.
