I ordered the roasted veggie sandwich ‘to go’ for lunch. I paid $ 9.50 which included a small container of broccoli salad and a cookie. When I got back to work, I opened the container. I was very disappointed with size of the sandwich. It was extremely tiny. I finished the entire sandwich in 5 bites. Quite an expensive lunch for what I got. The 5 bites were very good, but I couldn’t get past the $ 9.50 for 5 bites. Sorry, won’t be back.

Don’t believe the neigh sayers– this place is awesome! Every time I’ve come here I am treated w/​excellent thou rough service. And the food is even better! Lunch, breakfast, and the sweets– delicious! Cozy, clean atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for more!

Just try one bite of the raspberry cake and you know you hit the jackpot! I’m looking forward to trying more of the menu.

We love Frost! I think I’ve tried every kind of cupcake they bake and it’s so hard to choose a favorite. And they really appreciate their customers and the community. Whenever we need baked goods for the holidays and birthday parties, we go to Frost.

$ 3 for a small muffin that doesn’t taste very good. I don’t think so. You’re better off going to Costco for a muffin. It’s no wonder this place is always empty.

This place obviously does not care if they have your business or not. The woman I spoke to was very rude and not helpful at all. When I called to ask about wedding packages, the lady was so blunt and listed their original prices in a tone that sounded like, «Take it or leave it» pretty much. $ 50 for a 6 inch cake? My experience when they were in the Turlock location was completely different. Based on how I was treated, I will never get any of their desserts. Also, other reviews help in the decision as well.

The best place for gluten-​free bakes. I get all my sons school party treats here. Excellent staff, great service and quick turn around for orders.
The four stars is because they are good at decorating cakes but not great.

The food is horrible. The sandwiches are overpriced and drenched in sauce to the point of disgusting. The cupcakes are dry. Too bad Hannah’s left…

Great selection of menu items. Made fresh and very tasty. Our favorite place for breakfast and lunch! Plus awesome desserts. Their bagels and ciabatta bread are awesome. They do a great job with catered meals and desserts too!

This bakery makes great tasting cakes BUT can not pack them at all. 2^nd time screwing up my purchase. 1^st time was my birthday cake and today cupcakes. My cupcakes were smashed and more frosting on the box then the cupcake. 10.00 for 4 cupcakes and are in that condition I won’t be going back.

A little on the expensive side $ 2 for a cupcake my a** no gluten free or vegan cupcakes but for someone who has no restrictions they have the best cupcakes in modesto

The food and coffee here is amazing and the workers are always really nice and quick! Not to mention the inside of this bakery is adorable.

Great customer service. i will have to another review once ive gotten and tried the cake ive ordered. So far the cookie my son got said the icing wasnt very good and over all just OKAY. My other son got a cake pop it was really good not dry not bland. YUMMY! I will update my review once we have eaten all we ordered lol.

So I. Came because I was early for another errand. Stopped by for a mocha. Not disappointed. Very good and the cupcakes are pretty good for the area. I’ve had better but I would definitely come back. They have tons of other lunch and brunch foods and drinks so there’s more than just pastries and coffee.

Was in the area for an appointment and was hungry for breakfast and something light. While waiting, I decided to take a look inside and check it out. It looked upscale and top notch. The biggest downfall was the flies right when you walk in near the cash register, but as soon as we finally ate, they all disappeared. Crazy because it was swarming with them, about 10 at the table we were sitting at. Not sure if a fan right above would help keep them out or if they did something to make them disappear.
I was a bad girl and made 4 separate purchases in one day :). I wanted to take everything home with me. Caitlyn mainly dealt with me for most the time. She was extremely patient and helpful.
Then we had Sam helping us with the last thing which was another bagel we decided to order since the first one was way too good. I was having such a difficult time deciding which cream cheese I wanted to try because I never tried them before and didn’t want to miss out on one over another. After having a difficult time deciding, she hooked it up with a sampler, so I can have the best of all worlds. The vegetable was awesome, it actually had a great amount of chunks.. So if you want to make it a little healthier, that is the best option to go. Their bacon cream cheese was perfect, not to overwhelming and cooked perfect. I have great things to say about all of them, especially the chive. They seemed to all be made fresh. Maybe one day, if they don’t already… they can sell it separately. She also came by with a basket full or easter eggs for my daughter to pick from. When she opened the egg, it came with a free cupcake. I thought it was extremely generous and thoughtful.

These folks saved my butt after I volunteered to have the cake made for my GF’s baby shower. At the last minute, I discovered that the baker I had hired took my order knowing that she didn’t have the experience to pull it off.
So, with about twenty minutes notice, frost hooked me up with two cakes, 18 cupcakes and 16 macaroons that they tweaked to match the shower colors. This review would have had five stars had the prices not been so high.
Give ‘em a try. Save your relationship.

I’ve been looking for a cupcake place in the area for a few months now and I’ve finally found it! They’re super sweet ladies that make their pretty sweets so I’m definitely coming back. I’ll try the food and coffee next time too

I’ve reviewed this place before because I wasn’t impressed with their artistic abilities. But, I’m a firm believer in second chances, so tried again. I really shouldn’t have. I’m so mad. I came to pick up the cake. The décor was kind of cute, except Olaf kind of looked like his face had melted. The writing, on the other hand, was atrocious. It was sloppy and the writing didn’t match. It was initially written in a grass green color, on a snow themed cake. I told the decorator it looked horrible and she needed to fix it. She got very annoyed and told me it would take her an HOUR to fix it. She did «fix» it (it still looks awful, but at least the color matches.) I took the cake to my car then went back in. I asked to speak to the owner. We sat quietly at a table, as I didn’t want to make a scene. I expressed my concerns with the amateurish artwork and with decorator. Instead of simply apologizing and/​or offering a way to make it right, she became defensive and replied, «I know you’ve had a problem before. I’ve read the Unilocal review. Obviously, we don’t have anything for you.» The cake tastes decent, so one star for that. Artwork gets ½ star. Script gets a negative 2 and customer service yields them the most negative review I can muster. I will not EVER order a cake from them again and will encourage anyone who asks for a bakery referral to go elsewhere.

Awesome place! Great food. Nice to walk in to the smell of fresh baked goods. The sandwiches are amazing too! People need to understand that fresh made products cost more than a .99c burrito. It’s well worth the money. Ps… Any desert is amazing and I have seen some of the catered cakes and they looks amazing!

I tried to love this place. I really did. I love cake. But after today, they barely get a like.
And I’m done trying.
Yes, I am a San Francisco girl; so customarily I get my cupcake needs met by Miette, Sweet Things, or That Takes The Cake. And yes, they are all upscale gourmet bakeries; so yes, I am spoiled. But my parents live in Modesto, so when I’m in town & it’s time for cake, this seemed like an obvious answer.
My first visit, I tried 4 varieties: red velvet, carrot, chocolate peanut butter, & s’more.
I was so looking forward to devouring ½ of each one (of course I was sharing). But what happened? I was disappointed.
The cake itself was pretty nondescript. And as far as moisture goes… was ok. But the frosting flavors all tasted the same, w the exception of the peanut butter, which did actually have flavor that was reminiscent of peanut butter. Still, mediocre at best. And the texture fell flat. So instead of creamy dreamy goodness, I ended up w a bland wasteland.
This had never happened to me before. How on God’s green earth can you screw up a cupcake?! You’re a BAKERY. It’s CAKE with FROSTING for chrisake.
Never wanting to judge on only one visit, I waited to try again another time.
What did I learn? Go for lunch. Lunch is very good. The quiche was pretty great, & so were the side salads. But again, cupcake… not so great.
I figured I would only come for savory items, & skip the sweets.
But today I needed a brownie. My instinct told me to go to Village Baking Co. But I was closer to Frost. Here was Frost’s chance to win me over.
Big mistake.
The brownie was old & stale. It was HARD except for the very center. Breaking off a piece was like breaking off a piece of a very hard cookie?! Had my mom try it. She said it was obviously not fresh, & not to buy brownies there anymore. One step ahead of you mom.
Sigh.
The service has always been friendly though, & we did have a great lunch. But I won’t be getting any sweet things here again.
