Great friendly place to shop. You will find a wide selection of groceries and other fun stuff. Ownership is friendly and accommodating. If you need help just ask. And they take suggestions if you would like something they may not have.

This store is disgusting. I cant think of a worse place to buy food. Id rather go to Winco, Walmart, the dollar store… anywhere but here. Ive never heard of a store selling expired/past best by date, food! I don’t care how cheap you mark items down, I’m not going to buy something that’s best by date was in 2014! The store was dirty, the shelves have probably never been wiped down and it looked like it had been months since the floors have been mopped. The very worse part was the refrigerated section in the very back. I guarantee you those freezers/refrigerators are not as cold as they should be as required by law. I saw many items that had defrosted and been thrown back in the freezer. Sure a customer might have done that but it was more than a couple items and it looked like they had been that way for awhile. I took pictures of how bad things were just thrown in the freezer. I’m looking into how to notify the health department. Do not go to this store!

The best thing is there bakery!(and its average). I would sacrifice good customer service for food thats not expired and less carts in the parking lot(which i understand cuz the only place to put your cart is tiny and barely seen). This store is trying but its clear they don’t have the resources to accommodate this whole area(its to small). I really hate shopping their but its the only grocery store in immediate area. The employees our nice though(not their fault). This store needs to reinvent itself and its image. If i bring home 1 more expired product. I’m gonna raise hell with upper level management!

You can find some pretty good deals if you search. Some of the prices are the same everywhere else. They had a Toy Story lunch pail I was interested in, they wanted $ 3 for it. I passed. But the drinks are a great price some are 3 for $ 1. Just look for expiration dates. Some times I could get some of the stuff cheaper with coupons at a regular store.

This store has many diamonds in the rough. Watchout for old, outdated stuff but then, sometimes it doesn’t matter. Often items are just a month past date, such as coffee, that is post dated(I’m not a coffee snob). I have gotten incrediable deals on Cat Litter, lightbulbs, laundry soaps, bath soaps, where date isn’t important. I always stop in, swear I’ll only spend $ 5 but I can’t think of when I didn’t spend $ 30 or more. Many items are marketed in Modesto, but people in Modesto don’t favor some exotic items which then end up at this store. Always check prices with clerks, some items aren’t very specially prices. It’s all part of the shopping adventure.

After buying a bunch of food that was of spoiled and unfit to eat at this store, I had to lower the score from 2 stars to1 star. That is simply unacceptable. (older review I wrote) This is an odd grocery store. Many unusual brands you never see in main store chains, plus expired items you must watch-out for. Some items have prices marked but it seems most are a guess at the register. They’ll just mark something general on the shelf and it’s often different when you go to pay for it. I go in occasionally ’cause they’ve unusual stuff, but definitely not a place to do major grocery shopping, and the non-food items are not necessarily the lowest cost. Fun place to check out once in awhile to see what weird stuff they’re carrying that week though.
